Very cool. What's everyone's favorite feature of the open firmware? Promiscuous mode was my favorite but I think that's becoming standard on many radios now.
Is it possible you can please demonstrate the scan speed of the MD-9800 with OPENGD77 installed ? Is it as fast as the GD77 with the installation of this open firmware? It's really a deal breaker for me if I am to purchase this set. Thank you.
Not sure what you mean by V01. Even the early MD-9600 radios should work. The link to the firmware is www.opengd77.com/downloads/MD9600/Firmware/2bd2f396b050cd183a0c5b7082a9e364869eb3c9/ for early radios MD9600_firmwate_V2HW.bin will work. There are instructions and several threads explaining how to install and what the differences are between the various "Versions" and why that is, and how to find out which one will work with the radio you have. Go to www.opengd77.com and you should find all that you need. I have four MD-9600 radios and am using them all with the OpenMD600 firmware, One is V2, One is V4, and two are V5 of the firmware
