Maybe Alpharetta wasn't very ethnically diverse in the past, but it definitely is now. I moved from Sandy Springs to Alpharetta in 2019 and I have found it to be very diverse. I'm black and the majority of my neighbors in my subdivision are Indian as well as black and other ethnic backgrounds. Alpharetta also has a large IT community which offers a lot of high paying white-collar jobs.

It's amazing to know that, thank you for your comment. My husband got a offer there and we are thinking about to move there, I got very worried after watching this video

I'm currently living in Alpharetta after my company moved me from Washington DC. The "vibe" is the same. I find myself hanging down the road a little and sleeping up here.

I moved from Roswell to Alpharetta 20 years ago and we love it. Our kids go to great schools and the amount of fun stuff to do and dinning is great.

Really enjoyed your video. The only part I had a major problem with is the view that there are very few businesses and high paying jobs here. That’s just not true. Pre covid, 125,000 people commuted to Alpharetta every day. There are many high paying IT jobs here. Alpharetta bills the city as The Technology City Of The South. Many regional headquarters are located here as well. The fact that the city has a redundant electrical grid and was very aggressive to put in fiber optic cabeling has attracted many data and IT companies to the area. You should contact the city to verify but it’s the main reason why Alpharetta has almost as much Class A office space as the City of Atlanta. Only Sandy Springs comes close.

I use to live in Atlanta and work off of Old Milton. That was years ago though. I live in Metro Dallas now. I’ve always said that Alpharetta in the equivalent of the north west Plano/Frisco. Frisco/ Plano got it beat on jobs and entertainment though. This development definitely helps Alpharetta though.

Great video, however I strongly disagree with you on the lack of jobs. Alpharetta is considered the tech capital of the southeast. Home to UPS, Verizon, McKesson, Fisrv and countless other major corporations.

If you missed the correction on 3:26 in the upper left-hand corner, it is supposed to be GA 400 running from Alpharetta to the center of Atlanta (Sidney Marcus Blvd., to be exact).

This is why the new Southern cities are great. 1/3 of an acres is small. In older cities you can touch the next house from your window.

Cons - biggest one - Cost of Living is expensive, restaurants are expensive. 2nd - a lot of traffic no matter what time of the day. Go to Avalon or Halcyon Square and there are more people of Indian or Middle Easter decent. There is a large Latino population from many countries, good size Brazilian population. Just people from everywhere. A lot of transplants from other states....etc. We are relocating to Alpharetta at the end of September this year from the Detroit area.

I lived in Alpharetta for some time and diversity and Jobs both are plenty. You are correct on all aspects but like someone already said lot of Indians and IT jobs, lol most Indians are in IT so IT jobs came to Alpharetta so did Indians

Should you pick and choose who is "welcome" and who is not? I have been treated very unwelcome there in Alpharetta for NO reason whatsoever. Not sure why, but it is wrong to discriminate for whatever reason!

I live in Alpharetta. We don’t call it “the” Avalon. It’s just Avalon. And the taxes are astronomical! Fulton county is known for its extremely high taxes.

Some cons are traffic (at least more than expected). Old milton pwky for example. And 400 is a zoo. Also, a con (or pro depending on how you look at it) is no Marta train up that far. Con because it would be nice to jump it to downtown or airport, have to drive to sandy springs to catch. However, pro is that its less likely for transients to make it out to Alpharetta.

Avoid Old Milton Parkway at all costs or State Bridge Rd.....it is a parking lot and takes forever to go a short distance.

Sorry but maybe you haven’t been to Alpharetta before or looked up the stats, but it is basically a majority minority city at this point and a major employment center, if not the major employment center north of central perimeter.

You are misinforming people about job situation. It has largest concentration of tech jobs in the state of Georgia. You lost credibility right there for me, especially when you called out poor man’s version of the it “Marrieta” being better.

Ill tell you a bad side..... Its literally the truman show. Planned communities, stamped homes, really a european's nightmare. Even the downtown seems non-organic.
