Tommy had such a unique sound. It's like glowing nuclear lava rolling down a glacier.

I love Deep Purple but Tommy must have got bored at times. Come Taste has moments and the live stuff on the first US tour was pretty good but Purple would have needed to go to places most of their fans would never have agreed to for them to have got the best out of Bolin … pity because Lord and Paice and Hughes were musically quite capable of it. Great player.
