Another great review! You've touched on everything about these boots that people should know, but I would also add some people do experience heel lift. Sidi X-3 is my feet's favorite lighter Off-Road/Dual Sport boot.
I tried these on yesterday and had a ton of heel lift. Tried sizing down and wearing a good motorcycle sock and there was still the same amount of lift. That's a hard pass for me.
I have these and one thing I've noticed is that with the flex in the fore foot the top actually kinks in one spot and digs hard into the top of my foot. not a big deal normally but if i have to dig my toes in to the ground to say for instance push the bike hard up a nasty section it will dig hard into my metacarpals, with a hard get off i could break them. probably going for the Gearne fastway enduros soon.
Great video thanks for the feed back from an on bike perspective, both pros and cons. It would be good to see how it stacks up against boots in its price range as improved protection to adv. For example a dog fight with the tech7, x3, and the fastback. I think that’s a hotly contested area especially with people on line trying to figure out which way to go for more protection on an adv/ dual sport bike. Thanks for all the work you put into the videos and customer service.
I've found the soft toe box to be an issue. I've dropped my bike and stuck the bar into the toes. It hurt like a mofo. This actually happens quite a bit. Not an issue with Crossfire 3. Also, the heel is quite soft. I've slid down toward a tree and crushed the heel between the trunk and the foot peg. Surprisingly painful. Again, CF3 are solid in that area.
Great review - in depth comments on the coverage. Would like more feedback on longer term durability - how well the shell and sole and latches all hold up
I’m trying to decide between the Tech 7 Enduro Drystar vs Gaerne SG22 Gore-Tex. I’m 60 on-road 40 off-road kind of riding for most part of the year apart from some gnarly trails once a year
I have the boots and love them. But I ride an adventure bike. Not as much hard off road. I like the cross fires but sidi boots are way to narrow. much more narrow then any other brand I tried on.
Thanks for your comments, but please note Sidi boots ARE NOT ALWAYS NARROW...some Sidi models are WIDE. Please look here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UJ_kfhlKa5A.html
Just bought a pair to try. I have very solid Crossfire 2s and my soft forma adventures so I'm hoping these will be a nice in between compromise. I tried some Gaerne Fastbacks but they're just too wide and tall for me.
Thanks for the review! Was wondering which would you prefer personally between this and the Forma terra evo x? As it appears to me they are similar, alpinestars tech 7 enduro being a soft, not too protective offroad boot, and forma terra evo x being the most protective adv boot Thank you
They are quite different on the bike...the Alpinestars Tech 7 Enduro is a soft off road boot and the Terra Evo Dry is a sturdy ADV boot. The Tech 7 is more protective, but the Forma has better quality and is waterproof. Choosing between the two would depend on the bike and rider. Hope that helps! Just got it today! yes it made in my country, Thailand. Great review bro and I think I picked up a right boot for me after watched your vdo. Thankssssssssss bro
SG12s til I die. Only boot still made in Italy. One of the few still left with genuine leather, hand crafted by Italian artisans and not some kids/old women in a sweat shop n clearly most superior protection in the game.
