RISCOPRIRE IL CAMMINO DELLA LANA

La Transumanza culturale 2024 è stata concepita come un evento partecipativo, che coinvolge tutti gli stakeholder che contribuiscono alla sostenibilità della filiera della lana - dai pastori alle associazioni locali che hanno riattivato competenze artigianali tradizionali e restituito valore alla lana, innovando i prodotti e mettendo in risalto la loro sostenibilità e circolarità per i consumatori.
AlpTextyles ha riunito il mondo pastorale e la comunità locale per una giornata di cammino. L’evento ha previsto una passeggiata con il gregge dall’alba al tramonto lungo il sentiero del pastore, permettendo ai partecipanti di incontrare direttamente le persone coinvolte nella filiera della lana della Valle Camonica.
UN PATRIMONIO CULTURALE IMMATERIALE UNESCO
La Valle Camonica lungo il sedime dell’Oglio è ancora oggi attraversata da una transumanza del gregge a piedi che rappresenta un’esperienza fondamentale per conoscere la pratica del pascolo vagante, la lingua asciutta dei pastori, la meraviglia e la cura verso tutto ciò che la natura ci offre. Nel 2019 la transumanza è stata inserita nella Lista Rappresentativa del Patrimonio Culturale Immateriale UNESCO grazie a un processo di candidatura transnazionale promosso da Italia, Austria e Grecia. Nel 2023 l’elemento è stato esteso ad Albania, Andorra, Croazia, Francia, Lussemburgo, Romania e Spagna.

REDISCOVER THE PATH OF WOOL

The Cultural transhumance 2024 was conceived as a grassroots event involving all the stakeholders that contribute to the sustainability of the wool supply chain - from shepherds to local associations that have reactivated traditional artisanal skills and restored value to wool, innovating products and highlighting their sustainability and circularity to consumers.
AlpTextyles brought together the pastoral world and the local community of Monno for a day-long journey. The event featured a walk with a flock from morning till dusk along the shepherd’s path, allowing participants to meet firsthand the people involved in the wool supply chain of Valle Camonica.
A UNESCO INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE
The Camonica Valley, along the Oglio River, is still crossed today by a transhumance of flocks on foot, which represents a fundamental experience for understanding the practice of nomadic grazing, the sparse language of shepherds, and the wonder and care for everything that nature offers us. In 2019, transhumance was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity through a transnational nomination process promoted by Italy, Austria, and Greece. In 2023, this element was extended to include Albania, Andorra, Croatia, France, Luxembourg, Romania, and Spain.
