I think people are being very harsh and disingenuous with their critique. Obviously this season is supposed to be different from last in character. So their stories will be different. I liked this season but there are obviously flaws. The bullying is clearly the centre of both seasons because maybe it’s to say no lessons were learned. I also liked how complex the characters were this time. We saw everyone pov. I have my favourites and we see that sometimes the villains are victims as well. I agree with the staff and lack of adult problem.
Also I disagree with you saying there is no mention of the previous death or incident. I think the show handled it well without making it about that. For example when Sarah sat at the girls desk and her name was scribbled on it. Tasneem even warns her to not sit there. That felt very realistic. Without being too on the nose. It’s a painful thing in a society that’s closed off. The reunion did it even more justice because of the cliffhanger they left us on. The anniversary of the death was like closure imo.
I thought the second season was a cheaply made, modernized, reimagining of the first season. The biggest problem i had with the show was the 10 minute reunion where all the girls act like they've been close friends for years. It completely disregarded the actions taken place in season 1.
This is a bit harsh. I liked the reunion part. It was refreshing especially because of the cliffhanger. Grief brings people together. It’s not like they acted like they’re always together. It seemed like a memorial perhaps an anniversary of the death and they have each other because this one unfortunate incident affected them all.
