What do you know about the entry level masters in nursing and how it differs from a BSN?
@RegisteredNurseRN
@RegisteredNurseRN 7 лет назад
I think they are great programs for people who already have a bachelor's degree in another discipline that want to earn a master's degree in nursing. It preps them for NCLEX and they get to directly earn a MSN degree rather than a BSN degree. If your goals are to teach, become a NP, management, etc. I say go for it. It is awesome to see nursing programs offering a variety of ways to earn a master's degree.

Hi, thanks for the info! I have my bachelors in Psychology and my masters in Counseling and I'm interested in going through a BSN to MSN accelerated program to be a psychiatric NP. Do you know anyone who has taken this route and is it a viable option?
@RegisteredNurseRN
@RegisteredNurseRN 7 лет назад
Yes, I've worked with several nurses who went from BSN to MSN in an accelerated program. They are now working as NPs and love it! They said it was intense because it was accelerated but worth it because they got it over with. I know there are NP programs for psych nurses and yes, they are viable options. If you love psych...go for it. I wish you the best in your program. Thank you for watching the video :)

what are your thoughts on online nursing programs?
@RegisteredNurseRN
@RegisteredNurseRN 7 лет назад
I've never went through one but there are great online nursing programs out there. Just be sure to research them and make sure they fits your needs. I've had some friends go through some for RN-BSN and NP programs, and they loved them. I wish you the best :)

HI! I've just been accepted to an accelerated BSN program after an undergrad degree and career in Public Relations. Do you have any tips? I know that is can be very challenging and intensive, especially for someone like me without a background in science.
@RegisteredNurseRN
@RegisteredNurseRN 7 лет назад
Hello Olivia :) I went through a traditional BSN program but knew others who went through the accelerated. I would recommend that you really brush up on anatomy and physiology because it will be the foundation for all your classes. Also, learn how to be a critical-thinker because nursing exams are very different than other types of exams. They are not really fact-based...you have to know your material and apply it to the scenario. Also, get a good review guide to help you study for your classes. Saunders Comprehensive review guide is great...I used it for all my nursing courses. Look on Amazon.com for it. Also, don't worry that because you don't have a science background it will be challenging for you because many people I knew had English or criminal justice degrees and they excelled. If you are interested in the material it will click. Also, I have many videos to help you through nursing school along with lectures so be sure to check them out. This is wonderful information! I just found out I was accepted to both ABSN and BSN programs - and now have to make my decision my Friday. I took A&P 1 last semester and am currently in A&P 2 - so they will be relatively fresh but there is always, always room for review. Thank you so much for your help and guidance. I love the videos and use them even right now for A&P. Thank you again!!

I want to become a Labor and Delivery Register with Masters , and was thinking about obtaining my bachelors in biology donyou think this would be beneficial for me?
@RegisteredNurseRN
@RegisteredNurseRN 7 лет назад
The best route would probably be to go through a BSN nursing program. You will learn a lot about labor and delivery, and then when you obtain your masters you can specialize in midwifery. Best wishes :)

There are a lot of options and it can get pretty cloudy. I'm trying to get everything together to go back for nursing. I currently have a Business degree in Marketing and almost done with my MBA. I previously took a lot of the prereqs (Both A&P classes), but it has been over 10 years so I'll need to retake them all. Here is my question: Shouldn't any school that has a BSN program "theoretically" be able to provide some type of acceleration by accepting credit for classes that have already been taken? Are there special classes in an ABSN program? The decent size (and well thought of) state college in my town has an accelerated program, but it's considerably more expensive. In my case, I'm not sure finishing a little earlier will justify the cost. I'm also weighing the fact that once I have the RN my employer may pay for the RN->BSN. Thanks for the video!

Hello RegisteredNurseRN, I have a question for you. I have a Bachelors degree and would like to enter the RN program. The thing is its on a weighed scale in which they add up prereqs. The question ihave is would they take the gpa from your transfered preqs? Or just count them as a pass or fail. On the contray, your videos are AWESOME!

Is there a way to become a nurse or take the exam to be an rn without having a degree but have experience in the medical field (medical terminology and anatomy etc)?? Like how CLEP can speed up progress? Is there a way to become RN or BSN less than a year? I know sounds far fetched I’m just curious. I don’t have a bachelors but have certification in the medical field. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for this video! I have a bachelors degree in business and an MBA degree. But I finally want to do something for myself, which is nursing. I found an accelerated BSN, but I don't have some perquisites. Please are there online options to complete some prerequisite courses or can the school still offer admission on a conditional basis till I complete the courses? I hope to read your response soon! Thank you.

Yes, if you have an associates in nursing (ADN) and pass the NCLEX-RN exam, you will be a registered nurse. Both the bachelors and associates path prepares you to take the NCLEX-RN exam and become a registered nurse. 💜

Go for the advanced bsn see at what programs your looking to attend and make sure you have completed the pre recs. If not I would say go to a community college to finish those corses and then apply. Best of luck
