"How does she sing that low" Taylor has not only mastered belting but also switching into her chest voice. She does it so smoothly and seamlessly that she clearly has practiced extensively. It's extremely impressive and extremely frustrating as a vocalist who has yet to master my chest voice LOL

seven was my favorite song from this album for soooooo long, I love it so much, and it's easily my most played one. I've spent my whole august with seven and (irony) august when I traveled by the car through the country to my grandma, and I'll never forget this feeling. Recently I've become really fond of exile, but I'm still not sure which one is better for me, I was really surprised to found out that seven is overlooked by so many people, it's just SO good. When she explained " this is me trying" it made me feel finally understood after 25 years of life with a chronic mental illness. When she said to the sufferer, its something that you have to deal with every day. And the thing about falling behind your classmates as you grow up. It's my life exactly. And that not killing yourself when you feel like you have to is still you trying. Ugh I felt loved by this song. And this song didn't mean much to me before she explained it.

mirrorball is a song depicting how you feel that everyone wants you to shine, but you can't stop shining. it's a metaphor for being so high up and illuminating the stage, but you can't go dim (e.g. you can't show negative emotions) because you're supposed to be shining. mirrorballs are made of tiny smashed pieces of glass or any reflective surface. she's telling us how even though she's broken into so many tiny pieces, people still want her to act as she did when she was whole (or when she was 16) even though she's literally glued back together differently.

I love all the songs on the album. It’s absolutely a masterpiece, but “this is me trying” hits hard. I relate to it so much. It hurts beautifully. But I understand if you don’t like it. What Jack is holding is a brush! They’re mainly used in jazz music or acoustic settings because it creates a softer sound than regular drums🤩 Also, Jack playing August is such a vibe. We can all relate🤣

Okay so I wasn’t a fan of mirrorball UNTIL I heard that it’s about and for her fans! She says in the song that she tries and shines for us, that she comes back for us , and even when “the horses and the rodeo clowns” are cancelled she finds a way to make us happy. I just love everything about this and it makes the song so very special.

Yes for peace! I adored the song at the beginning but after watching the long pond session it hit even harder. Also kudos for getting through this without crying, cause I was a bawling mess at the end.
