If you're wondering what the safety pin means : 1 - it represents the punk counterculture since it started (mid-late 70s) 2 - it means you're against racism and xenophobia (this meaning started in 2016, in the UK) 3 - Apparently it also means you support trans rights, but I didn't find anything about that on the internet, so it may be just a myth
In Sweden it definitely represents Punk culture but also that you’re comfortable talking about suicide and helping suicidal people. (Although not all ppl know this)
@@foreverchained9070 You don’t have proof for starters and we aren’t ruining it if anything we are making it better transgender rights are great and same with xenophobia even tho I don’t know what it means it’s probably bad like homophobia!
Hey I just want you to know this.. You don’t have to be white to be any style You don’t have to be skinny to be “pretty” Nobody is truly ugly..we just live in a judge mental Society ... You don’t have to be any age to be something, you can be 8 and be goth, you can be 37 and be goth as well, You can be YOU,and don’t let anybody pull you down... and your beautiful...and I want you to know that ok? :)
Yeah, but this is not a « style », it’s subcultures, it’s about music and ideas, so you are right, we don’t need any type of clothes in particular, it’s ourselves and who we are who are pretty and sexy. It’s just that this video is not supposed to be an aesthetic or a style, goth is music. (Don’t get it wrong, I do agree with you (: )
Looked up on google this is what it said. "During the emergence of punk rock in the late 1970s, safety pins became associated with the genre, its followers and fashion. ... Safety pins worn visibly on clothing became a symbol of solidarity with victims of racist and xenophobic speech and violence after the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom in 2016."
I am almost officially in the alt community and I am so happy about it the only reason I held off joining the community or wearing the style was because I didn't think it was the most suitable style for me but I am still going to wear the style because it makes me happy!
@@カイ-o4b Yes, I have figured that out and have started to listen to the music and actually really like it! I am also starting to have the same political beliefs idk why but it's just happening 0-0
Hey there! punk, nonbinary, gay, neurodivergent, ex-Christian (nothing against Christianity, simply believe in something else) here! Turns out if you read the bible they literally say about how Jesus loves everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, all the other cool things that make people human. I get told a lot too by like homophobes that it says in the bible you're not supposed to be gay according to like the holy trinity. They actually never mention it in the bible, the 10 commandments, or any other holy text! They say r*pe, p*do, cheating, and bestiality is bad. They always talk about gender and sexuality casually when it is mentioned. A lot of Christians like to take things like this out of context and use it to condemn people "for religious reasons" to justify hating people who are different but it's actually extremely unchristian and is very much a reason to go to hell! Don't let people who use religion as an excuse like that discourage you from being yourself and being Christian! I promise Jesus doesn't care who you fuck and what you wear
Guess I'm making the hello kitty bag, since gloomy bears cost a fortune now. The JOJ stencil was so bad ass, I'm super intrigued how they made the stencil now. 😅
I love the New intro and thank you so much for doing videos like this it has really helped me on my journey to becoming more alt and embracing my creative side more!
I’m very confused why she said “yes I know what the safety pins represent” I don’t know what they mean so if someone could explain pls (also I love these diy’s)
When worn they represent people against racists, xenophobia, and transphobia. This comes from the 2016 UK brexit referendum but has spread to over countries too.
Thank you for doing this!! honestly helps me a lot bc i go on tiktok and its really hard to find good alt/punk diy stuff by your own so these comps really helps a lot!
And im disgusted... For me as a Pole, this song doesn't match the alternative vibe, this track exists just to be funny. Yeah, of course it was a nice suprise, but as I mentioned earlier, it has nothing to do with Punk culture (a song about c0ke? bro what the he-) Maybe I am too judgemental because I know the language... I don't know
I am not person that wears or really likes the alt kinda style (I mean dont get me wrong i think that its adorable) but i really like watching these for my ocs and fanart and stuff like that
At 5:00 (or somewhere around that time) they say “I know what the safety pins represent”. But I don’t I was wondering if someone could explain it to me?
Taken from wikipedia: "Safety pins worn visibly on clothing became a symbol of solidarity with victims of racist and xenophobic speech and violence after the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom in 2016. Later that year the symbol spread to the United States after Donald Trump's election to the presidency." So yeah, wearing safety pins basically means "violent, racist and xenophobic scum can do die in a hole" :)

they have two main meanings, one of them is that you’re a safe person for lgbt+ people to be around and the other is that you’ve struggled with s/h iirc
2:06 does anybody know where I can find thick thread like this? Like if you can use big embroidery needles with that same thread? I really want to cut thumb holes in my sweater and do that stitch but I’m not sure where to find that typa thicc thread and I love it 😫
I just went to my local shoe store and got some platforms from a brand called circus, but if you want taller boots/decorated ones you can find them online or diy it!
They show you support lgbtq+, blm, etr and other goth beliefs ( I heard it a few times but I still recomend doing your own research I'm also kinda new )
I'm not sure about the whole idea of wearing safety pins to symbolize that you're safe for marginalized people to be around. It's such a simple gesture that anyone can do it without understanding what it really means to be a good ally. It also just feels kinda presumptuous to suggest that you're automatically trustworthy to people who might not know you well enough to be sure of your character. Personally if I see somebody wearing a safety pin I don't give them any extra trust.
XD a oni walnęli ją akurat do takiego filmiku, no kurwa xD
