These are really cool! I like how you included a lot of lolita/ cutesy alternative fashion diys. Most alt diy videos don't include them a lot, and I think it's more difficult to find those kind of tutorials/ diys, so even though it's definitely not my aesthetic it's really cool to see them.
Yep! The thing most people think of as stitching is the running stitch, it's one of the less secure stitches but it's also the simplest and is useful for gathering fabric and making ruffles. Another common one is the backstitch, it looks similar to the running stitch on one side but is created differently. If you move your finger in a loopty-loop pattern in the air (and move your arm in the same direction while doing that), then imagine that the bottom part of the loopty-loop is going into the fabric, that's basically the backstitch. Another common one is the whipping stitch: put two pieces of fabric on top of one another, line up the edges, and sew them together like a spiral notebook. Those are the most common stitches afaik, but there are a lot more and each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Start by sewing small projects like hats, cushions, also practice on scrap pieces of fabric with stitching it also helps to do research and use patterns for sewing projects
My biggest advice it to just do it. Circle skirts are quite easy and cheap to make. I made one as my first project a few months ago, and handsewed the entire thing. They can fit most styles as well, so I highly suggest doing that first if you want a wearable right off the bat.
Also, indepth sewing tutorials on RU-vid are so helpful! And know that it will take practice. I also find practicing by altering existing clothing is great for getting those skills 🐸
