@@MactelecomNetworks :) hey all that work pays off bro and we are also thankful you share how you are able to work and be successful and have a healthy life with your wife and family bro. That’s beautiful and it’s a blessing be able to see it ✅✅
@@MactelecomNetworks You Canadians with your endless holidays..... ;-) There is a 48 port on the roadmap from our info meeting with Alta excutives... when I dunno. We got a UPS delivery this morning of a 24 port version... Testing it in the next few days and weeks.
The web interface seems very immature. Probably one 1-3 guys are working on it, and it only works the way they think it should work with a lot of assumptions. I'm sure the hardware all tests to perform as it should. I too am not a fan of having only half the ports being POE, and I think more SFP+ and 2.5G ports should be standard on newly designed equipment.
Thanks for the video. On a Reel that I saw it was mentioned in the comments that the switches doesn't support Spanning Tree out of the box. The support for this protocol will come on a future firmware upgrade. Just heads up
Sorry to say completely useless, as a company if you are new on the market you have to come with products that are hi demand only a few are delivering, like access points with 2.5GB LAN and 2.5GB Poe switches, and maybe people will show some interest, with this ? I didn't even wanted to watch the rest of the video and have no interest at all on 1GB switches that we have a million vendors out there, this is just another copy cat of Unifi like Omada. Good luck Alta Labs. Thanks for the video.
"it would be nice if companies started coming out with switches that have full PoE ports". THEY USED TO MAN! THEY USED TO! they got greedy and used stupid excuses to F us over. who remembers UniFi Gen 1 PoE switches? eh? anyone? or tp-link PoE switches? anyone?
They do.... not sure what you're on about..... Try Aruba top notch switches , various price points, and you don't need a cloud controller (or any controller for that matter) to configure them :/
No local controller is definitely a negative. Also, what's the price? Unless this is significantly cheaper, it really doesn't offer anything that everyone else has been offering for years. I'd like to see these new comers offer 2.5Gig ethernet PoE and 10Gig PoE ethernet switches cheap. At least that would be pushing the market forward. I just don't see where Alta Labs justifies its existence yet. They are not faster to market then Ubiquiti. They are not more cutting edge. They don't even have a supply chain set up yet to have issues with. Ubiquiti certainly has its share of problems, but they are an established player at this point. You can pretty much rest assured they'll be around for years to come. So unless Alta starts offering products that are not just equivalent to what Ubiquiti offers, they may find it tough to make a case for themselves.
Thanks for brininging this up... I'll still stick to my ubiquity setup... fell in love from the first UDR w bunch of functions that I don't even know how to use...😅 currently about to get UCK Gen 2+ for Protect Dedicated 1TB... 2x G5 Bullet & 1x G5 Dome and Ubiquity 8-Port Lite PoE switch to to power this all up...this is temporarly setup to use to Guard All Enterances so not even fly can come in without me knowing...later to use ViewPort to Stream All cameras to Smart TV for my old dad to watch over everything 24h cuz' he's bored...in pension & have a time... All on Top of that I have Ajax Alarm so curious & unwated neighbours stay out of the house. 😊
@kristopherleslie8343 Thanks for the comments! The time table for product coming into market will be September 2023. Not sure why that wasn't clear. Also, Alta Labs is a division of a company that has been around for 23 years that isn't so tiny. Give us a shot and I am sure we will earn your business.
How about adding potential release dates of your 24 port poe on your site? ispsupplies is selling the pre-orders which I don't like because they don't list a date of availability either@@chaseharrison5869
