This is before they started playing to a click track. Back in the day a lot of these tunes were played really fast. Flip was definitely on his horse for this one.
Hmm, I thought they still used a click but sped them up to fit an extra song into the set list. Do you have an interview or something where they say they didn't use a click?
@@bigdog91paper unfortunately I don't. I think I remember Scott (Flip) mentioning it in an interview. You can find the point slightly after AB III where they started using one. Listen to some of the earlier recordings and contrast them with the new ones. It's pretty crazy but sounds way better when things are on.
@@alteredendeavor I much prefer the earlier albums up to ABIII, after that there are a few songs that I like but the majority is forgettable in my opinion. I’m not a music expert but the later stuff seems over-produced if that makes sense? Like there’s no space in the music and just too much going on
@@doomcrewoutdoors1613 I love the first 5 completely… I like WTS okay - some great tunes in it; but not like the first 5. Their new one Pawns and Kings is back to being epic / majestic again!
Agreed, that was their absolute live peak. Myles still had that edge to his voice and they RIPPED through the tunes. Now it’s all very safe and samey/over produced
Was one of my Dads favourite group, he passed away on the 27th jan this year to heart failure. I’ve always like Alter Bridge but not been able to listen to them since my dad’s passing until tonight. Rip Dad this is for you until we meet again 😢fly high
@@MetalDoDo i know most of the songs, just not this one and i know i am very alone on this, but i really think blackbird is overhyped and just a good song, not the epic masterpiece. I personally love Twilight, Bleed it Dry, Cry of Achilles, Into the Deep, Dying Light, You will be remembered and more. I like the more rhythmic and harder and continoous driving songs more than the theatrical ones, if you know what I mean. That's why I wasn't deep diving into the older stuff as much so far. I also was a bit dissapointed last november when I went to a concert they played very many old ones and rarely any songs from 2014 and newer. :( I like the direction in which they evolve.
