👏👏 Sooooo glad to see someone using a blue for the edging! 👏👏 I honestly get bored when 'vintage browns' are constantly being used on projects. I understand ppl want the vintage look and apparently browns are the only color pallets appropriate to use... even when there are so many vibrant colors within the images... I'm being snarky 😊 The Tim Holtz collection has so many other vibrant colors that can be used.. 🤷♀️
I so agree with you. I made a Wonky House journal last year and used oranges, blues and greens!! There are so many vibrant colours out there. I usually try to match up with the theme. I also love the vintage look but sometimes it's good to mix it up! Have a good week!
Hi Sharon..Loved this altered book but can you clarify how many actual pages you skip, between 1st pocket you did & each of the dividing pages? As found difficult work out ( as you are too fast for me to follow lol) ! 😅... Also I find a good tip to ensure you have enough space for thread (to wrap around circle enclosures) is to slide a 'slotted thicker card' template between the punched, circle & cover, prior, to closing the brad ends. Once the brads are folded over, remove tge template & there will be perfect space for threads... Depending of yr thickness preferences of template card used etc . ❤X
Hi, Thank you so much 😊 It was approximately 18 pages between each section. Yep I have been meaning to make myself a template! I first saw that on Vectoria Designs, she uses one all the time. Thanks for the tip and have a good week.
Oh my goodness! How stunning! Meant to be! Just bought 50 books to make craft fair items and wasn’t sure what to make. I love love love that beachy paper! Thank you for the link! Her other papers are stunning as well!!! I love how you added the material/lace on the binding. It’s as if you made this just for my tastes! I wouldn’t change a thing and that is very rare for me! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've never seen a half composition book size (USA fan here) but I love your album and will attempt a handmade one by folding 8x11 plain paper in half for the signatures. Also thanx for introducing me to Fantasya's digitals. While I'm photoshop profficient (25+ years), I dont always have the time to create my own papers.
Thank you 😊 Fantasya's digitals are gorgeous. I got my books from Amazon UK when I was over there a few months ago, as I'm in Spain and anything like that is hard to get here!
Thanks for this! I like the way you’re doing the closure button. I bought some mini composition books that I intended to make for gifts..they’re still sitting undone on my shelf. 👍
This is beautiful. Love the paper you used. I have several of those half composition books that I haven’t used. Can’t wait to make one of these! Thank you. ❤
Love this! I have an order of half size ones being sent now, but I've never seen or heard of them before. So thanks so much! Your journal is delightful Sharon.
You have the greatest ideas. I am going to try that. I have never made a journal, but it looks like that size is great. It would be easy for 😮 to learn 😊😊😊I have a punch you can punch the edges of the curve of the paper just an ideal
Thank you for this tutorial. This is a great way to make pockets and a closure. I'm a new follower. I found the Oxford Jr. composition notebooks half size on Amazon and online at Walmart. Ordered some to make as gifts for my crafting circle friends. 😊
Thank you so much 😊 I also use them as gifts at christmas for my crafty friends. Yes, I got mine from Amazon as well. I live in Spain so we don't have the shops that you have!! Enjoy your crafting!
Thank you so much and thanks for subbing!😊 I'm in Spain so had to get mine from Amazon UK when I was over there a few months ago. I did some last year as Christmas gifts.
Hey Sharon, looks like a great project. Can you do the creating in frame? You are just out of frame. I also wonder if and if so, how you cut the composition book.
Thank you. Yep I know about being out of frame. You know how it is, you get so engrossed in a project. I will try to do better and keep an eye on the camera! 😊 These books were bought half size. However, I believe that they can be cut with a sharp Stanley knife and a metal ruler.
I bought mine on Amazon. However, I believe that you can cut up with a Stanley knife and a metal ruler. Some have done this on RU-vid. Have a lovely week.
Hi, I have put link to the shop in the video description now. It is Fantasya Digitals. The kits used are Coastal Papers, Seashell Papers and Coastal ephemera. She has some gorgeous kits and currently has a 55% off sale. Enjoy your crafting and have a good week.
Hi, I bought them this size from Amazon. However, I believe that you can cut them with a Stanley knife and a metal ruler. I have never tried it, but there are videos on RU-vid about it. Thanks for watching 😊

That's an exaggeration...I found most of the tutorial in camera. Just a few moments were out...no problem. I think it's important if giving criticism to be accurate.

It all depends on where you live. I’m in rural southeastern Ohio. I will be lucky to get $7.50-$8 out of these. In more upscale areas probably $10-12. I have 50 cents in the notebooks and have a really nice laser color printer so the cost to print the image paper is nominal. Plus lots of sewing scraps so almost no cost there. I will probably not do as many inside divider pages or pockets so less labor. I also decorate these with local school colors and use my cricut to cut out school names, mascots, and most popular “Class of ‘25” etc. Add a sheet of printed cricut cut stickers with school related images. I can mark those up higher and sell a volume of them which offsets my more artsy things like the ocean design. Hope that helps! ❤
