I think Montreal would be much larger in this TL, considering the importance of the Great Lakes to trade and travel into the interior of the continent. Montreal is already a very strategic city, but due to politics, it hasn't reached its potential. In this TL, the political advantages are much more favorable, being that the entire Great Lakes would be under one political entity. Anyway, I loved that TL and have thought of it often myself

What do you use to make maps? I'm trying to develop an alternate timeline where the native's had had a resistance to European diseases and so the colonization of the America's was for more laborious (the pilgrims settled on an abandoned Massechusett village and only got by through eating abandoned corn)

With British America, I imagine a lot of their resources were focused towards them and so the british in this timeline didn't devote as much resources towards the likes of India etc. So east india company only sets up a trade port/s or only expand as far as the province of Andhra Pradesh.

How to make such good maps tho

You should look into the younger dryas impact hypothesis. itll give you the real perspective on the megafauna collapse of a good portion of the world, like the America's.

lol, the British weren't even really oppressive of their American colonies, just the American colonies were really intolerant of paying even the tiniest contribution to their defence which the British Isle had to pay for to defend them from the French :)

1. Who ruled the US territories (England or US), relations with the natives would have gone more or less the same as they did in our timeline. The major difference in Native relations with the US and Canada ultimately was determined by the geography of the areas. Culturally both were English afterall. 2. Megafauna and other prehistoric animals went extinct more from the waning ice age than human activity. There's definitely examples of human caused extinctions, but that isn't the rule.

I am curious as to why your Anglo-America includes Louisiana. Historically the French colony which covered much of the Central United States was sold to the US so Napoleon could fund his war against Britain, but he obviously wouldn't sell it to the British. Was it conquered in the Napoleonic Wars?

Exciting. Don't agree with Hamburg being a small city. Hamburg overtook Lübeck for two reasons: 1) Lübeck had some terrible, terrible, leaders at a very unfortunate time. 2) The English and Dutch markets were easier to reach by Hamburg, which could then transport goods from the Staple trade via. the road between Lübeck and Hamburg. Hamburg, as a harbour, is placed extremely well. Lübeck is important, but not well-situated, neither for further distribution into Germany, nor for the Baltic markets (Copenhagen being right nearby). I think therefore Hamburg would maybe still overtake Lübeck, but Lübeck could still be a symbolic capital.

Awesome video but "most similar to Swedish and Finnish" is like saying "most similar to French and Mandarin". They are from completely separate language families, especially as Finnish is not even Indo-European. The language is either Germanic or Finnic, not both, with influence from one or the other.

Would you still use names like "British" and "America" in the first scenario. Since "Great Britain" wasn't used until the 1700s IOT and the Amerigo Vespucci of our world probably would have been butterflied away.
