I'm in hyperfocus mode thinking about my potential #practicum placement for next year. I wanted to share some of the other career options for #schoolpsychologists who do not work in #school settings.
My sweatshirt is from www.blkingradschool.com/shop (and it's very soft!!)

Thank you for this video! what would the role of a school psychologist be in the hospital setting?

Many doctoral-level school psychology programs will prepare their students to work in many settings and can prepare graduates to become licensed psychologists. Typically in a hospital, you'd be operating as a psychologist, and the role may really depend on the subspeciality! Some assess patients' emotional/behavioral needs related to medical conditions, provide consultation to a patient's medical team, or do outpatient care for patients. It really all depends!

Does a “clinical” school psych tend to make more money?

It really depends. Certain settings might make more but I think it'll depend on where you live.

I thought it was a big “no no” to say you’re a CLINICAL psych if you’re only a school psychologist because not all school psychologists need a PhD

@@Polkadotedbow It depends on how the setting (community mental health/hospital/etc) categorizes their psychologists. School psychologists who are licensed psychologists can apply for clinical positions, but the name of the position won't change based on your training. I used to work with someone who was trained as a school psychologist, but her job title was clinical psychologist because the role in that clinic was not school-based. But if you're working in a school, you wouldn't go by clinical psychologist, if that makes sense
