Excellent explanation Bernardo! Your work should be publicized as much as possible!! A new and better understanding of the nature of reality is capable of transforming lives and societies. Wishes for a Happy New Year

Love Bernardo. I was wondering if he has ever spoken about Emptiness (Nagarjuna) or Nothingness (Keiji Nishitani)? He was skirting the issue in this video but I couldn't nail down his pov.

I have a question: If we are fragmented within a Cosmic mind, what - logically - prevents us from also being inhabited by fragments that live in a universe in our brain?
@imaginaryuniverse632
@imaginaryuniverse632 Год назад
I think we are all a part of a single body appearing within a single mind. It may very well be possible to read other people's minds or send messages. I think there are many things that may seem contradictory but are still true. Like everyone may have their own separate identity and yet their appearance in my world is very much influenced by my expectations of their appearance. We all, as far as I know, have voices in our heads that just appear and present their different viewpoints like angels and devils on our shoulders. Science tells us that the Universe looks like a brain. I think it looks like our brain. The Bible tells us of the high priest who speaks for the tribe. The 12 disciples were all together when the Holy Spirit descended upon them but I haven't read further than that yet but I just remembered that's because the book of Acts referred back to the book of Exodus and the rock of ages if memory serves. Anyway there's a lot more complicated reasons why I think this having to do with Jacob becoming Israel and his children no longer eating of his sinew and Abraham meaning Father having children as numerous as the stars in the sky and the twelve disciples representing the 12 tribes of Israel who are the children of Israel descendants from Abraham and Jesus being the Prince of Kings and his Father's mansion having many rooms where he will go and make a place for us and last but not least the song Hark the Herald Angels sing glory to the new born King written by the prolific song writer and brother of the founder of the Methodist church in the 1800s during a time referred to as the Great Awakening of which it seems we have had many such times or ages. 🙏

Dualism is rea.l it's just another part of nature and energy expressing perhaps without a physical form. Within the one which is not dual there is always dualism Yin Yang Light Dark; all the worlds. Only consciousness As a flow of potential and possibility it is non dual it is the one with no other ..

Duality is seemingly real not real..or you can say that duality is relatively real bot absolutely real.. Just like from the perspective of sun there is not day or night.. But day and night exists only from the earth/human being perspective

You are definitely correct in the quantum field as a lake and ripples in the lake. This principle applies to ALL phenomenon of form including our bodies ...physical ans celestial. You are definitely wrong dismissing mental telepathy (reading another's thoughts. I personally experienced mental telepathy when I was around 18 or 19 by asking a teacher of minded if he can hear my thoughts to knock on the place where he was sitting and he knocked on the place where he was sitting. Snow we can define as water yet eack snowflake is unique and our minds can be defined as the Divine White Living Light yet each of us is a unique configuration of this one omniscient Divine White Living Light giving us the feeling of separateness yet like the snowflake is water our minds are the Divine White Living Light via the "electricity " or life force of Chi/Prana converting the Living property of the Divine White Living Light into our bodies....minds. A prism/Pyramid of glass with light shined into it produces a rainbow (configures light into multiple different frequencies) and we say the Pyramid creates a rainbow yet it's really the light being shines into it. We ourselves are much like this spectrophotometer.

Brilliant explanation of the nature of the universe and our existence. It solidifies my own belief in THE ABSOLUTE REALITY, there is nothing else. In Islam, the Quran states the fundamental law of the universe over and over again: "La illaha ill Allah" which means There is no god, ONLY ALLAH, translated to: "There is ONLY ONE REALITY", absolute Monotheism. Anything to the contrary is regarded as a crime against REALITY. This law is not even understood even by the majority of Muslims today. Dualism or dualistic nature of the universe is fundamentally not acceptable in Islam. There is no separateness anywhere or any part of the universe, it is the WHOLE ("Ahad"). This is what the renowned mystics in Islam - Rumi, Ibn Arabi were trying to get across to people but were not understood and given labels of "Heresy"! Ibn Arabi's writing over 1000 years ago is phenomenal though he was accused of being Pantheist. He was not! You have also done away with Pantheism. Thank you Bernardo, you are a top scholar. I would like to invite you to the UK for a talk to a big audience, if this is at all possible?

Why do you speak of fields and not of „the field“? There are not many fields in the univers but only one field, right?

There ARE many fields though. ‘One field’ is only a metaphysical notion.

Like a fanatical religious prophet, Bernardo Kastrup has dedicated almost all his philosophical life to constructing his own philosophical world-view - "analytic idealism". (Kastrup uses the word "world-view" a lot, and his main aim is to construct one around *himself*.) He hardly engages in philosopher other than to sell his own brand and abuse all other theorists and philosophers. This explains his rather categorical, glib and simplistic rejections of other philosophical alternatives in this video. And why only three options - solipsism, materialism and panpsychism? It's mainly because they are what Kastrup just happens to have spent more time on recently... But there many other options... So if Kastrup spent more time doing philosophy, and less times selling himself and his own worldview, then he may produce something of interest to those people outside his little cult of obsequious fans and loyal disciples.

So, you have no arguments but just ad hominems, right?
@paulaustinmurphy
@paulaustinmurphy 10 месяцев назад
@@golubvolodemerovich7512 I use ad hominems far less than Kastrup himself does. He's known for using them, along with abuse, etc, That's why I use them against him. I give him a taste of his own medicine. As it is, I I've written around six essays on Kastrup, most of which don't contain ad homs. That is, they include many arguments. In fact, there are arguments in my first reply above - to which you've replied. It's not "just ad hominems" at all. It's ad homs AND arguments. ......... So which arguments do *you* have to defend Kastrup's idealism (don't simply quote or paraphrase Kastrup himself) and his many uses of ad homs?

@@golubvolodemerovich7512 "And why only three options - solipsism, materialism and panpsychism? It's mainly because they are what Kastrup just happens to have spent more time on recently. So what are your own "pet beliefs" (i.e., other than endorsing Kastrup's pet beliefs)?

Ah, Bernardo, and your refusal to go on Lex Fridman and Joe Rogan, both of whom I understand have invited you?
@paulaustinmurphy
@paulaustinmurphy Год назад
Bernardo Kastrup only does interviews with those he knows are sympathetic to his views. Also, when has has engaged with others who dare to disagree with him, he later abuses them on his blog. He's done this with very many scientists and philosophers.

No point going on Rogan’s show. As to Lex, he’s kinda going the way of Joe & populism. I like Lex, but he’s not as smart as he ought be and certainly not in the philosophical domain.
