alternative to flashcards 

This is a cool method and alternative to flash cards! I think I'll try it

This got me A's and B's in biology, anatomy &physiology, and all of my health classes!

consider this: cut the flash cards so they are smaller, thats what i do

You are a goddess, I was worrying about flashcards because the apps don't help me much, the paper ones are expensive and I feel guilty cutting so much paper for each subject, so this saved my life in some ways, thank you!

Update: been using this technique for my bioscience college class and man has it been helping. Love this!

Omg I use this method too I think its less money consuming and paper being used I love using it for my bio, chemistry and physics notes especially.

I started using flashcards a few years ago, and like you said I ended up having too many of them and that's why I started to write as much as I could on one flashcard. Defenition after defenition to save paper. I still use them, and I like using them but I am planning to use a medium sized notebook for my vocabulary next year to compare what works best for me. Thanks for the awesome videos and for introducing me to new techniques :)

this is a really good idea! for a long time i wantd to use flashcards but the only thing that stopped me from buying them was the amount of paper used/wasted in the process. gonna try this now thanks!

Quizlet is my savior! I love how you can share it both others and use other people's sets so you dot have to make your own. Most of the time I can find exactly what I need!

I would recommend the app tinycards, it's free and you won't end up with a huge stack of cards. Not only can you make your own cards and put them in decks, you can also make the deck public and follow your friends so that they also can use your decks and the other way around.

You are very clever. This method makes you to do active recall , this is the most effective way to learn . With the combination of spaced repetition it will make the opportunity to learn everything you want .

I wish I had found your channel 4 years ago when I was first starting college. You are a freaking genius. I'm going into my final year of college and it will no doubt be my most difficult year. I will definitely be using your methods and I have subscribed and I am so glad to have your help. Thank you so much!!

I tend to write very short-answer questions, a sentence or 2. I then put 5-10 questions on one flashcards. Then to study I get a chapter or 2, depending on how much I need to study and I will answer all the questions, each one has a certain ''mark''. Eg. Explain what ''onomatopaeia'' Beans (I couldnt think of a hard question xD) Would go for 1 mark. But for relgion Name the 5 Pillars of Islan would go for 5 marks. Then once answering all questions, I would correct them, each answer getting wrong I would write out 3 times and then mark myself. I then turn that mark into a percentage and write it in my study journal. Each subject has a page and then divides it into chapters. I can then see my knowledge improve as I study each chapter more.

My favorite alternative method to flashcards is Quizlet, since it's still in the format of flashcards but it's online so you don't waste any paper. Also, they have an app so it's really accessible.

We used a method similar to this in middle school history and it helped. I have no idea why I stopped doing it. Sigh I never learn lol Great video!! :)

I like this! I don't use flashcards in their traditional manner..i write notes on them.. And they are perfect when you want to revise the chap on the go. I find that in biology you need a lot of revision and it works really well.

Have you ever heard of the app Quizlet? It's basically index card flash-cards, minus the paper. It's really helpful for people who don't want to waste rime naking paper cards, or don't want to kill trees or whatnot. I really like it!

Girl, I came on here looking for a good way to study for my AP World History midterm and we literally are/were (because this was quite a while ago) using the same book. Western Civilization by Spielvogal, huh? Spoopy.

I did this for computer science but i had no paper so i used lined flash cards but put 4 key terms on each of them

we call these split notes in my school! i learned about these in study skills at my school! : D

my french teacher in 6th grade always used to make us do these when we got new vocabulary words, but after that class i never thought to make them again! my current teacher is v v strict and makes us do flashcards and specifically color code them the way she wants (ugh) but i'll def make a few foldables while studying for our exam! love ur channel

Love this method! You should do a note taking video on how you take notes and maybe the different learning styles and what might work best for them in regards to taking notes! I'm a verbal and visual learner so its hard to take notes sometimes! :)

can someoe please tell me if the audio goes kinda digitalised and robot-esque with a slight buzz (does that make sense?) around 1:40 for them too? Cause I'm currently recovering from a concussion and I'm concerned that it was my ears going funny. Please tell me it was just the video.

What I'm about to say is not an exaggeration. That amount of flashcards you have in your hands there, multiply it by twenty. That's, again without exaggeration, how many flashcards I have from my anatomy class alone.

I'm also doing that kidn of method, its really helpful saves. a lot of space. The flipping through flashcards method doesn't work on me

I use to print out on a4 sheet flashcard template by emmastudies and also online and cut out and use it ( Its kinda cheap)

I begin to you this method now. It helps a lot :)

I use vocabulary.com to memorize vacabs, and it works amazing too! it will tell you the progress you make on each word and tests it through a variety of forms, such use in a sentence, images, etc.

It's more ecologic and it looks nice ! I will try for some vocabulary ! Thank you for the sharing, I really like the quality of your videos (content, sound, and video itself). :D

Anki-droid is a good app which alternates paper flash cards! Try it.. it really helps..

Lol I use index cars to study all the time...it's really helpful😋

Another great alternative is to use online flash cards. I really recommend studyblue.com. You can make great flash cards with the website, and they have a mobile app, so you can take it places with you.

but isn't it a problem if when your checking the answer to one question you show yourself the answer to all the other questions ?
