Alto TS310 vs TS410 What's the same? What's different? What do I think about it? Please feel free to comment or ask questions. Thank you! IG: @gtaspeakerrentals « Music: www.bensound.com/free-music-f... »
Answering your last question- its because they wanted to retain volume control at the app. If it was a normal rotary knob its physical relative position could differ from its actual setting.
The 10" woofer on the 3 series had a 2.5" voice coil crossed at 2.5 kHz, while the new 4 series has a 2" voice coil crossed at 2k. (TS3 went down to 54hZ, TS4 down to 57 hZ) The TS410 is also slightly larger by about 1/2 inch. The new app might be handy for some folks s well. Unity is achieved with the volume knob all the way up (5 O'Clock position) for the appropriate source.
Great video. I have a pair of TS310's, which are great speakers. My only (very small) complaint is the limited EQ, when I use it as a single speaker with a digital piano, and I need to add an EQ pedal to get the sound I want. Other than that, the TS310 is great. The TS410, if the custom EQ is easy to operate through their app, might be a nice upgrade.
Great overview - thanks! Just FYI, "unity" has no real meaning for a power amp. Unity means the signal passes through unamplified - so that shouldn't really be a concern for powered speakers.
they made the bluetooth volume nob a rotary control so you can adjust the bluetooth volume without jumping from whatever the phone set it for, to the volume of the nob. otherwise it might go from loud to quiet or vice-versa abruptly
Sounds like for my personal needs and uses, I will stick with the 310 and 210 speakers that I already own. Some of these changes on the 410 don’t quite work for me and my needs.
Had a pair of the ts 315 tops and it sounds great. Now i own the TS 415 and these sound awesome with the TS 315 Sub. Alto is a great company. Hopefully they will make these in white for the wedding DJs such as myself
I have two EV 15" speakers and needed a couple more to cover a wider area. I tried two TS415s and was shocked by how low the gain range is (line level). I have to keep the knob maxed and they still aren't as loud as my EVs at mid-gain settings. 🤷🏼♂️ Im not dogging on them, just a bit perplexed.
I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I keep it on MIC when I'm plugging in a line. Have you tried playing with the EQ on the app? That'll help a bit too.
@@gtaspeakerrentals7597 I'm not sure if I'm happy or bummed that it's not just mine. 😄 Guess I'll be using a dB meter to match them on-site... wonderful.
thanks for the video. I have a question about the subwoofer. There are not subwoofer for those models, I mean there are not subwoofer Ts415s. the subwoofer model Ts315s or 318s behind they have the option DSP Output Mode (Ts308, Ts310, Ts312, Ts315, High pass, Bypass). So, those new speakers can work for example with the subwoofer ts135s or Ts318s? Thanks!
Yes it will work. And you can use the high pass and bypass too. You can just pick whichever sounds better to you. I think the new subwoofers will come out in 2023.
What do you think of the Alto TS410 in general? I've ordered an Alto TS415, but also thinking about getting a smaller one for the occasions where i dont want/need to bring the 15 to places. Is the 410 fairly loud? It says 130db peak and 127db continuous, however it's hard to know how loud it is until you hear it for yourself. How would you judge its loudness and sound quality compared to other PA speakers? And can two different sizes (e.g. 415 and 410) be linked up via the app via bluetooth? Great video btw.
In general, it's a good speaker. Loud and clear. I'd use it for an audience of about 50 people. Maybe even a bit more than that. Compared to speakers in a similar price range, I think Alto wins. Mackie might have better bass response, but Alto delivers clean overall. In theory, you should be able to link different sizes, but I wouldn't recommend it, unless its a case where a ts415 is for the audience, and ts410 is the monitor for the performer. Thank you
I’m considering getting some ts412 or ts4125’s but haven’t been able to listen to either setup yet in person. For typical house party type events, would a pair of 412’s have enough low end without a sub (Which I’d be looking at adding down the line at some point) or better to go the 415’s?
@@gtaspeakerrentals7597 thanks for the reply. I managed to get to a store which had both available to test & yeh think the dual ts412 will be fine. Ts415 didn’t have *that* much more oomph and adding a sub to the ts412 during testing was better overall than the ts415 (as you’d probably expect).
Hi do you know the frequency cut for the sub button ? or maybe i can choose "no sub" and cut the low the frequency where i want (140 Hz) with the app, correct ? , thank you
Good evening, I am thinking of buying a TS410 (only one) to use with the PC, also to use with a DJ controller, but only one speaker, is it possible or would there be a problem with the sound? Or would it be necessary to have two TS410s? thank you.
I had a TS 310 and just bought the TS 410 and I have to tell you that the 410 is worse. Although in the shop they told me that it was more powerful, that is not true and the sound is not as clear and clean as the TS 310
So when we get no Bluetooth out on the speakers, a sub cannot be connected? As I see, there is no Alto Sub with Bluetooth.(Normally goes sound to the sub, this makes the HF/LF and goes to the main speakers.) I see there is a Sub setting.. Can you try, if it is set, than the signal for the sub is present at the speaker out?
It's not a battery powered speaker, so if you can find an outlet, sure it's good! You can make your vocals sound a bit better by adjusting the EQ with the app. There are probably better options for busking though.
I own a ts312 and ordered a second one from an online store but recieved a ts412 instead... if using both in stereo with a mixer will this work or will this cause damage to one or both speakers?
I've never tried watching films on phone through bluetooth, but I imagine it would be minimal latency. Probably not noticeable. But again, I've never tried it. Do you notice the lag with other speakers?
Alto sells their own xlr bt-reciever, that you could use in xlr-input and pair w the other side. Then cable should work out--> sub. 👍👍👍 Extremely stupid that it doesn't work as it should...
Thanks for the question. These are virtually identical in audio quality. Besides the EQ, I don’t think they changed anything. The TS412 or 415 are louder and clearer than the 312 and 315. The hiss is the same in both models.
@@gtaspeakerrentals7597 ah I thought the whole TS4 range had 2500w amp modules. I’m surprised the TS410 tonally sounds the same as the TS310 with the new driver and amp module? I was expecting to hear some improvement!?
I have the ts312 and the ts412 they are great speakers I did hear that the ts312 HF tweeter tends to blow and have seen a few people change them with different HF tweeters, does anyone know what the best tweeter is to fit in the ts312
Question please. I have ts415 model . I had accident and the box is broken but I have a previous model wich is ts315, can I put the speaker from my ts415 model on my other ts315. Also will it sound better
Yes, you can put the speaker in the ts315 box. I’m not sure if you can put the amp plate it, it might be a different size with different screws. So if you just put the speaker in the 315, you’re basically just upgrading the 315. The Bluetooth and dsp would be gone, of course.
