I wish OoT had Hyrule Castle as the fourth child dungeon... It'd be in some alternate storytelling where instead of throwing the Ocarina of Time into the moat, Zelda had the time to hide it somewhere in the castle. Link would have to retrieve it inside, but the castle would be completely taken over by Ganondorf and his minions...
perhaps Rauru would be found there, as an important servant of the Royal Family. I could also imagine a weaker version of Twinrova being the boss of this dungeon, as you're meeting them back in the child era (starring in an Aganhim-like role)
Back in the 2000s the proto OoT community hypothesized the Bottom of the Well used to be the castle’s catacombs. Everyone was an amateur in that time so let’s disregard that postulation, well maybe not entirely. See it’s complicated because a spec sheet or something (can’t remember) states that BoTW was at one point (or still is to the developers, once again can’t remember) the child segment of the Shadow Temple. I know my memory is fuzzy but I’m confident a piece of official internal material gives BoTw that designation, read it while lurking a Discord server owned by the people who know the most about OoT’s development. The oldest iteration of Hyrule Field we posses has a door on the castle area’s western wall. On the new map that strongly resembles the final the west side is now fenced off, it’s what they did for the unfinished parts of Hyrule Field. So they might’ve wanted Link to sneak in like he does in ALttP. As if that wasn’t enough the Hyrulians in the market gave you cut backstory regarding the Royal Family and the Sheikah. Nintendo had a fairly different plot as late as 97. Could this backstory be hinting at more cut areas? “You wouldn't happen to know the Shadow Folk? Those called the Sheikah, the shadows of us Hylians... They say they swore allegiance to the King of Hyrule and are skilled in magic, espionage, even in assassinations... I heard they worked in the shadows, in the underground... But as peace returned, there was no more need for their clandestine activities. Ever since then, there's no one in the world of Hyrule that has seen a Sheikah.” “I wonder if the Sheikah have become extinct... They used them, they just used them... Kind of sad if you think about it...”
@@protocetid It makes sense for the bottom of the well to be treated as the child section of the shadow temple. Maybe they planned on making the two physically connected, like the child and adult sections of the spirit temple were.
@@meta527II Because when you just slap instruments onto a MIDI everyone can tell, the mixing is always super off or the instruments are improperly used which results in a super unprofessional sound.
I think what I have noticed most in stumbling across your channel just a bit ago is that you have an excellent ability to arrange things in a way that captures the spirit of the original, while using the soundfonts you have to their fullest.
I praise you for your orchestration and arranging with these samples. It's really rare for me to see folks who really nail the utilization of These samples along with Mario 64 and a few other games with similar tone to their samples. Mad prop pal
All of your remixes have been amazing, I'd love to see them in a OoT soundpack someday - hopefully the PC port will be able to make music super easy to swap around because these tracks all sound perfect!
OoT is the only Zelda game that has Hyrule Castle but not the classic theme (the theme doesn't actually play when you're in the castle in BotW, but King Rhoam uses it) Ok, Spirit Tracks' Hyrule Castle doesn't have it either but that's a different Hyrule.
A definitely improvement. As much as I love this song in ALTTP, I always hated how what was supposed to be string instruments sounded on the Super Nintendo.
I will say the strings was one of the best parts about the SNES sound chip. The sound chip itself gave the system its unique charm throughout most of the released osts on it.
This is just a BIT off in my opinion. I would say this is 95% of what I think would sound best. I absolutely love it regardless and I could NEVER do this great of a job that you have done!
Wow! Very impressive! It sounds so smooth and natural. Id love to see you take something from links awakening and put it into, say, twilight princess format
Come to think of it, I think Ocarina of Time never has any music like this. Sure, Ganondorf's organ is dark, but it isn't this bombastic. I guess the Hyrule field theme is bombastic, but it sets a completely different tone.
This is the second LTTP theme with OOT soundfont that gives me Majora's Mask vibes. Interesting how the mind works. Anyway, this makes my inner child very happy because I've always held LTTP's castle theme to a very high standard; that rescue sequence was basically my introduction to the concept of drama and tension in video games and it blew my young child mind at the time, so a part of me was a little sad that it didn't make a return in OOT.
Doesn't sound like something that would be on a 3D zelda like OOT. Sounds to much like the super nintendo version. That said.... GREAT JOB. Putting this gem on my Playlist :)
