I work at Wagstaff here in Spokane Washington, I remember designing that billet table! It has our old flowmeters on it but we now have Flo-M which many find better to cast with. Nice video!
I worked at this smelter in 2005 to undertake a feasibility study to convert the sodaberg pot lines to pre bake. Was a very interesting project. I still remember the American plant manager Joe. Sundsvalle is a beautiful town.
Thank your sir. Do they used used copper wire for anode supply.? What was current supply and current density of anode and cathode? Can we use any materail with minimum possible dia with high current carrying ability. As we use almost 30-40 copper wires 2 inch dia for anode supply. Its very difficult to handle them.
@@Ismail-dy1wt "cathode tub" im assuming you are meaning pot shell. Usually constructed from carbon steel plate. Anodes are usually constructed using a mixture of coal tar pitch and petroleum coke.
I worked at Reynolds Metals in Longview Washington USA. That plant used Soderburg pots which incorporated continuous feed anodes that were never replaced, just added hot petroleum paste from above. Nice to see how it's done in Sweden.
I used to work at Alcan in Jamaica and I really wanted to know how the other process was after we ship away the Aluminum/Alumina away on Ships after the entire process that we do at Alcan.
@ do you own a Cold ROlling Mill and other strip process lines, are you still using Rubber Rolls, Vacuum Rolls, Compressed Air -Air Knife Systems for removing, wiping, drying of the Strips, Sheets and Foils being processed on Cold Rolling Mills, Pickling Lines, Degreasing Lines, Skin Pass Mills. Try using the High Performance Adaptive Wiping System, no requiremnt of Electricity, Vacuum, Compressed Air, Rubber Rolls, our innovative design uses the science in a different manner to wipe, dry the passing strips wihout using any energy.
Back in the day when we used to make aluminum we got some pretty good ore bugers from all the ore dust floating around the potrooms. I am sure that was not so good for us but back then corporate didn't care about dust masks or respirators or any of that! That didn't come along until the early 90's! However I am still alive and breathing ok so I guess things worked out ok!
I'm a die maker and have 5year experience in die casting die assembly. I'm searching for a better opportunity.can you help to find job on this good company
Slightly more than 20 %. Usually the survival of industry like this are determined by the price for electricity rather than the tax level. Norway and Sweden have an extra fee for electricity which the industry does not have to pay. This basically works as a tax relief for some major industries. Particular those that demand a lot of electricity, like aluminum production.
I suppose you're thinking about electrolysis operator? The salary depends on which country and which electrolysis operator job. Usually the shift schedule changes the salary as some jobs need to be done 24/7 all year, while other jobs can be done mon-fri daytime. Nights and weekends are paid more than daytime. In Norway and Sweden all aluminum plants have trade/labor unions. The plants follow the collective agreement negotiated between the union and employer on a national level. The collective agreements are usually found online and includes the salary, at least for Norway.
@@kennyzhao265 not sure about that, the carbon layer and block is where the electricity flows to and from with the solution in between, shocking the alumina powder at about 2000 degrees with p225 pots. Whether silicon carbide is used, I've no idea
Hi sir any vacancy in your company i have 4 years working experience in potline and 2 years experience working in carbon and moreover 1 year experience working sold casting ,
This process must consume a tremendous amount of electricity. Ingots in turn must be used to make solar panels no? So how is solar not harmful to the environment if impact of production is not factored in? Any engineers out there?
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video, sir can you leave your Email that to message you , I have some questions about aluminum production.. am a student I want a help to understand this process fully.. thanks
