The advantage to having an aluminum equipment trailer compared to a steel equipment trailer is that you'll look good for years to come with the aluminum not rusting. The main selling point on an aluminum equipment trailer is that it is lighter weight and has a payload of 11,300 pounds on a 14k which is the same payload you would have on a 16K Steel deck. And when you go to a 16K GVWR the combination weight of truck and trailer is usually over 26,000 lbs requiring you to have a CDL.
