Alvarez WY1 Yairi Acoustic Electric Unboxing. My professional level guitar unboxing! Upping my acoustic game. Also talked about Fishman Loudbox Mini as my amp.
Excellent choice. I bought the same guitar in January 2020. I always wanted an Alvarez Yairi and this one is endorsed by Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. My all time favorite rhythm guitar player. If I may suggest a video. "Bob Weir Corrina Tribecca 2014". He plays a similar WY1. It looks different but its the same guitar. He pounds on it and its just amazing. You'll enjoy it. I love mine. It has nice rich tones that my many other guitars just don't have. I'm sure you've already impressed your guitar buddies with it.
I checked that video out...sounds similar no doubt! Just some added inlays. I heard that the factory in Japan the apprentice guitar makers volunteer for the experience so that makes a difference in the price being what it is for the quality of guitar. What amp do you use?
I am looking at this same guitar and really thinking about pulling the trigger and getting it! So now that you have had it a year what are your thoughts? I honestly love my Alvarez and it is just a beginner guitar rd8 and the quality and build is very impressive!
Curious where you bought it. Hard to find dealers that carry the Yairi models. Was it in stock or did you have to wait for it to get shipped to the dealer? Joe Bonnamassa plays a WY1 on some of his videos when he plays acoustic. That model is a great stage guitar for performing out live. I have a 1990 Yairi DY-77 that I bought new. It has been a fantastic instrument. Absolutely problem free and plays and sounds great. Everyone that plays it falls in love with it. Enjoy your Yairi...they are the best kept secret in the guitar world. It is pronounced Ya-Ear-ee. Check out the youtube video of the Yairi factory tour in Japan...good stuff!
Beautiful guitar. How do you like it so far? Hoping to get one soon in that exact finish. Some of the best players in the world play this model. Congrats brother. There doesn’t seem to be too many Yairi players on social media so this was cool to see.
Hey thanks man, I appreciate that. To early to know exactly. I am still getting used to it. Sound is above average no doubt. It is not a big guitar so some of the bass is missing if your used to a dreadnaught or playing without an amp.. But with an amp its amazing. Its good for my fingerpicking and songwriting style...playability is above average also but still too early to know. I haven’t put on my light elixirs that I am used to so that it has that electric type feel. Will post again when i have a song worth showing lol
They are great guitars. I have been wanting the Bob Weir model myself. Should have bought it instead on my last Martin. I have owned may Alvarez' and they are AMAZING GUITARS !
I know, I love this guitar. Solid sound and playability without breaking the bank. It took me a while to find it. I had two Taylors, two Breedlove, two Fenders pm series, and an Epiphone but they all wound up being sold. I think I will keep this one!
@@Guitarmandan7 Good for you Dan. They are beautiful instruments and if people like Jerry and Bob play them that is good enough for me. Happy playing .Especially in times like these to have your go to place to relax a little . I cannot play very good but if I set down and play a few hymns things seems to be a lot less stressful. Have a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy,Safe and Healthy New Year !
