He made a huge mistake with charging the bodega store clerk for defending himself. What a joke. Edit: even tho the charges were dropped, Jose was still held in Rikers for 5 days, and the city already accepted bail money from Jose’s people. He never should’ve been charged

In a plea deal agreed to with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office in November, the male African-American assailant who killed Than Htwe back in 2021 will only serve one to three years in prison. Htwe, 58, was exiting the Canal Street station subway on July 17, 2021, with her son for a day of shopping and a visit to a Buddhist temple in Chinatown, when David Robinson grabbed the son’s backpack, causing the mother and son to fall down a flight of stairs. The 58-year-old mother sustained severe head trauma in the fall and succumbed to her injuries 10 days after the attack. Robinson was able to evade capture for a couple of months.

It's not about race or ethnicity. A major issue here is that the office of District Attorney is one up for election. There shouldn't be elections around something so quintessential to public safety. Unfortunately, many minority voters are brainwashed by this idea that police irrationally target blacks, and other minorities. Today, we are facing the brunt of this mentality. No prosecution. Nearly everything violent crime a "misdemeanor".... Green light crime. Pedal to the metal. A license to do whatever you want. What could possibly go wrong??
