Glad to see someone doing reviews of "lower-end" wireless mic system. I did notice the hiss but only when I turned up the volume but it's not bad at all and if that doesn't bother I think this is a great value. I think you can pick up a single transmitter version for as little as $50.

Thank you for this helpful video! Which microphone do you use with your DSLR camera? A built-in or an external (which one)? Did you adjust somehow the volume level from all these three microphones? The lavalier mic was a bit lower, comparing to headset and your default one, also it has a bit "metallic" voice - is that usual from your experience?

Hi Nikolay, the microphone I use with my camera is the Rode Videomic Go. Between the lav mic and the headset mic I did not adjust the volume, so the volume for the headset mic was louder because the mic was closer to my mouth. I honestly haven't been that impressed with these lower priced lav mics, maybe I can play around a bit more with the positioning, but so far I haven't really tried one yet that I really like

So my Club has a new Hotec mic but the second light quickly flashes but does not stay on and therefore the mic does not work. What do you recommend. Should I try to reach the company and maybe order one that the light comes on to pair with the mic. What company makes this microphone

I am cracking up. I tried to get this setup to work with my Vixia HF60 Camcorder and gave up. So off to RU-vid I went, and found this very helpful review. That’s when I realized there was the tiny little adapter I hadn’t noticed in the box. THANK YOU.

I have these and for some reason the fuzzy feedback sound in the background is super loud! Any idea why? Any help is appreciated

Hi! are you using this mic system on a camera? If so have you checked your mic sensitivity on your camera? Maybe you have it too high. If you have checked and your camera is showing the volume levels as normal, my only other guess is that you may have gotten a defective unit. If you got a defective unit I would recommend contacting the Amazon seller and exchanging them for a replacement

Does it sound like it has more static than in my video? If so it might be a setting on your camera. You may need to set the input volume on your camera

Are you using the microphone at 100% gain? To get the best sound out of Microphone you have to put them at 70% to 90%. Also the static could be coming from the device you plugged it into and I noticed that IPhone Footage Had no Static vs the Camera Footage.

@@TobiasHolenstein the adapter did not come with mine... it had two adapters but they dont look like the one you showed. and sound is horrible so far. i wish alvoxcon would put a setup video explaining how to make it work

I have this system working on an iphone with an adapter, BUT now my iphone has garbled audio is I DON'T us e the mics with it? Ideas on what has happened? Is it an iphone setting??

Hi, are you saying that now when you are using your iphones built in microphone, the audio is ruined? I'm sorry, I'm really not sure why that has happened. Did you remove the adapter from your phone? Maybe try turning off your phone and turning it back on?

Great review, thank you! I can sort of hear some background white noise with the microphone. I'm trying to find one that is as crisp as possible. It seems like a lot of professionals use these but there's no white noise. Any tips?

Thank you Mahmoud! I didn't realize so many people were using this mic setup. I also hear a lot of white noise. My guess is that people are using some kind of noise gate or denoiser in editing to get rid of the noise

@@TobiasHolenstein Sorry a correction; I didnt mean to say so many people are using this wireless mic in particular, I meant that professionals are using wireless lauv mics in general and they always sound really crisp. I'm looking for my first wireless mic and I'm trying to match the audio I hear in a lot of professional videos. You're audio is great btw!

Oh ok I see what you mean. Yeah you're right, I've been seeing a lot of the pros using wireless lav mics too. I'm guessing they are using some pretty high quality ones. I watch the youtuber Graham Stephen and in his videos he uses uses these lav mics. His audio sounds really good, but the mics are also quite a bit more expensive amzn.to/2ZF3GMg amzn.to/2sqbw05

Hi, the only thing I can think of is if you are using the tiny adapter that comes with the Alvoxcon. Are you using that adapter?

Do you still have the packaging? I would just look through everything. At first I thought mine didn't come with it either, but then I looked around everywhere on the floor around where I opened the box and turns out it was there on the floor

There was no instructions in the box. there are 2 videos on Ytube on how to set it up that are inadequate. Could you make a tutorial about setting it up in the same detail as a manual?

Hi Kimberly, are you saying that the audio you are getting sounds worse than mine? You are using the right adapters that it came with too right? My only other guess is that maybe you got a defective unit. I had someone message me on IG saying that their static noise was a lot worse than mine and they ended up contacting the Amazon seller and getting a replacement, which sounded better. Maybe you can try that

Hello my man good review. I reviewed this on my channel as well and there's two things I think you may have missed. The transmitting range is super long I went almost the length of a football field and it was still transmitting. But most importantly you didn't mention the background hiss and it's very important to point out because for some viewers it can be a deal breaker

We just got these mics and agree, hiss sound is horrible. Much worse on ours. Yours was not bad. Have you found a way to make it better? Planning to call the company about this and return if can’t fix it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't really found out how to make it sound better, but I guess you could try putting a denoiser on it in editing. If it sounds really bad though, yeah I would try contacting the company

Did you experience static? And are you using the 1/4" plug or the adaptor on your camera. Are you adjusting the volume levels? If so... is that on the device or the receiver? I'm not seeing how to check the volume levels. Also, there is a huge difference between the lavalier and the headset. There's sooo much static.

I had that hiss noise that you can hear, like if you go to 5:20. Does yours sound different from that? I am using the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter that it comes with and then also the very tiny adapter that I show at 9:16. You adjust the volume level through your camera. On my camera I have the Manual mic sensitivity set to 8.

@@TobiasHolenstein Gotchya. Yeah we're getting some bad hiss. But we're also trying to use this for Insta Live and FB Live and such. We decided to return the mic set. We're still looking for decent lavaliers for social live broadcast.

Sorry to hear about your mic trouble. Yeah, in my opinion even the hiss I got with mine was a little strong, but I can reduce it quite a bit in editing. Anyways, good luck with everything, I hope you find a good mic

No problem. Unfortunately I haven't really come across a lav mic that I would really feel comfortable recommending. All the ones I've tested out had some amount of hiss. If you come across anything that sounds good for what you are doing I would love to know!

Hi is just bought this item and I have a question, somebody can help me to remove the awkward sound have when you use the microphone, when you don’t talk is annoying, I tried already changing the channels but is still the same. from 7:27 to 7:28 there is a drastic difference in sound quality. Like the noise floor vanished. I've yet to find out how to split the signals into a stereo signal because the reciever makes the signals useless for narrative use.

Yeah I almost wonder if the iphone has some kind of a built in noise reduction feature or something and as for making the signal stereo I'm not aware of a way to do that Edit: I realized I was using my camera at that point. I have no idea why the noise floor disappeared at that moment.

Hi, yes it should work! Did you make sure to use the correct adapter for the receiver when you plugged it into your iPad? Also, after you record, did you unplug the cable from your ipad to listen to the audio? I know those may seem like obvious solutions, but tbh I've made those mistakes before lol

Hi Barbara, hm I'm not sure why it isn't working. When you try to record a video is it still recording with the built in microphone in your phone?

I thought it sounded great. The headseat seemed to have a little better quality than the lavalier. I didn't hear a hiss. But, there are frequencies that we don't hear as we get older. Maybe it was just that.

The quality is not bad but I’m hearing a lot of high pitched voice and have no clue how to set this lavaliere not to record such high pitch… also now sure when I’m importing the files in final cut should import on 48hz or 44.1… thanks for your video

It has an adapter so you can plug the reveiver into your phone, but for the iphone 11 you will also need a dongle so you can plug the 3.5mm adapter into your phone

Hi, is your phone reverting back to the built in mic? and also, are you connecting it with the correct cable, with the 3 lines on the tip? the TRRS cable

@@TobiasHolenstein Hi there, Yes it is reverting back to the in built mic on my iphone. It seems to come with a ''phone'' cable, and it has the 3 rings around that? On the reviews some people are stating you need a splitter cable or a TRS to TRRS (I am a total technophobe, please help) Also, Thank you very much for replying.

The cable connector for the iphone and others contains 4-poles (four metal sections), and is also known as a TRRS adapter/connector as opposed to a standard stereo which has 3-poles (metal sections) and has been used for DSLRs, stereo mics and headphones. Hope this helps. We just ordered this setup, so here's hoping!

That's strange, I'm not sure why it is doing that. So when you play back the video on your camera it sounds fine?

@@TobiasHolenstein ya, but when i listen to the device i can't hear myself. Just to to paint a better picture, I have my Mic set up with a Behringer for streaming. then the behringer outputs to the computer. I can't seem to hear myself when I listen to mic. but when recorded sounds fine.

Tobias Holenstein yes I use it with the cannon m50... I have the sound on the camera to manual with the camera volume all the way down and than up one notch... it was recommended to do this from other videos I saw... my other wired mics work fine on the same setting

Tobias Holenstein yes.... it only sounds good if I put the mic directly to my mouth which defeats the purpose of the mic.... maybe mines defective

The headset mic sounds powerfull compared to the lavalier mic. The lav mic sounds like youre on the phone call. I wish they would made it the other way round. Great video man.

Try to look everywhere, on the floor in the trash anywhere it might have gone by accident. At first I couldn't find mine and realized it fell on the floor. Other people have also told me that they couldn't find it at first either. It's not packaged very well and really easy to lose

Ha! it sounds like my experience when I made a recent video. Anyway, thanks for posting this review. I don't like the sound of the lav mic. Darn, because I want better quality than that. It could be that the proximity of the lav mic vs the headset could account for the difference in sound. However maybe I could plug in my pop voice mic into the transmitter and that may work better. hmmm

You just need a 2MM to lightning adapter for iPhone but yes it works great. I have one and am charging iit up now after thinking I had somehow lost it years ago. Turns out I just hid it from myself really REALLY well.

There was a VERY noticable difference between the headset and the lavalier mike. The Headset Mike was far superior! Does this work with Android systems also?

Yes, I haven't personally tried it with an Android but it is supposed to work with Android as well

I assumed it would be because on the Amazon page it said smartphone compatible and I assumed that meant all smartphones and it is just a trrs connection. However, now that I look at the Amazon page again I see that they have an image with the Android logo crossed out.

the headset works 100% better how ever the lav mic you need to have up alot higher and his is called bad eqing which wel there is no EQ. in the kit you need a mixer for that so you can set a mix properly ..

You should do a distance test farther than that. Other people go outside and walk down the street and even ride bikes until it cuts off. Just a idea bro. Great video though. And on top of that the Hotec mic is cheaper

So is it the microphones that are trash? Or is the whole system trash. Because I have other lapels that would do just fine. But if the system trash I am returning it. Got it for Christmas as a surprise gift 😂
