This entire album is like when you’re sleepy and it’s 1am and you’re alone and putting off sleep because the days are so mentally and emotionally demanding and this is the only time you really ever have to yourself.
I think it's because this song and so many of their other songs are just so saturated with rich and euphoric melodies and harmonies. It's like every second there's something amazing happening
I wasn't thrilled with Antisocialites (good album nonetheless, just not as iconic as LP1), but I'm certain that this album will knock the ball straight out of the park.
Their first Lp1 was brilliant so far- nothing has topped it. This new record feels hmm idk how to describe it… it’s decent, but not as good as their first 2.
I'm at least 163 years old by now and the first time I heard this song I immediately threw my cell phone in the river. Then I had to go retrieve it so I could listen to this song again.

Literally the only group I have ever loved every single album, not had a bad record. I really wanted to get to Birmingham, UK gig tonight, hope they'll be back soon 😢 love them!
1:27 the backing vocals are espectacular, I love the album as a whole, but there are certain moments like that in every song that makes them even better
Wow - I have been a professional musician for 58 years - and this is one of the best pop songs - melody, lyrics, 12 string and so on - that i have ever heard - wow - good going guys!!!
Saw them perform tonight, 11/7/22 In Atlanta these images were projected behind them just like this on this song. Bought Blu Rev and Antisocialites LPs at merch and so excited to be able to spin these ultra feel good vibes on any day and make it better. They were excellent.
Every time I hear this bridge feels like the first time again. Alvvays are masters at writing bridges (see Dreams Tonight) and this is no exception. This song makes me want to cry and then thrash my body around the room
Ahh just when I was jamming to "Very Online Guy," I saw this new gem. I'm so excited for the new album after all these years and I'm going to see them in Atlanta on November 7th! I'll be in heaven! 💚
It really is staggering how many great Canadian albums there have been, or will have been, released in 2022. And I'm talking albums because they all have four or five GREAT songs each. Nobody does that anymore! Anyway, alphabetically, I'm including Alvvays, Anyway Gang, Art d'Ecco, Elephant Stone EKKSTACY, Kiwi Jr., Metric, The Sadies, Sloan, Stars, Young Guv. Best year for Canada ever? Maybe. And that's just off the top of my head!
Greetings from the flooded California, circa January 2023. I've just wanted to say I've really been thoroughly impressed by so many amazing bands coming over from Canada. I do remember Sloan very well, and I'd say that "I am the Cancer" is really one of the best power pop songs ever written. It's hard to top it, really. There are a lot of bands on your list I don't know, but I'd be more than happy to check them all out. I do remember two Canadian bands that I think have been long gone, but they really made an impression on me. One was named "A Northern Chorus", and they had this song I remember, called "Watershed Divide", with this similar, lovely, super-nostalgic retro imagery, like this video does. The other band,. I think, was called Sianspheric, and I remember them being very, very, good, too. But yes, I always get this sense of awe every year when watching the Downhill and Super-G form Lake Louise, and am kind of bummed out that this may be the last of it for a while :(. But, at least, there's just so much beautiful music coming from our northern neighbors :).

A friend of mine introduced me to this band last year and this is one of my fave bands. Can't spend a single day without listening to Dreams Tonite. Not sure if it's only the song or it's the memories that we shared of Alvvays and other music overall. Sadly the friendship has ended but I'm glad that I met the person x
This is about her dad. It's both sad and yet ascends beyond sadness....She paints an abstract picture bridging memories and emotions that focus more clearly than any other form of communication could. I'm guessing this video footage is from her or her dad's personal collection. Beautiful.

@@thefreem I assumed it being about her dad, after seeing that the video footage is by John Morris Rankin. And learning more about him and his tragic accident, I put 2 and 2 together.
This is by far my favorite alvvays song from all the tracks from blue rev for god damn is it so freaking good and very catchy and has that morning magic covered all over it thanks to molly's sweet voice🔥❤️🥰💙
Nice clarity in these vocals. Lovely melody complexity, holding the tradition of older Alvvays songs - really enjoying this song. The abrupt change is interesting as well.
Just discovered this band after seeing them live and having my mind blown-I'd barely listened to them before. Not everything they've recorded touches me the same way, but the two or three "Smithsy" tracks on Blue Rev are pure pleasure ... this flawless diamond among them
This song rules when the band is live. They put on a great show. I felt like throwing extra $$ onto the stage. When ETs come to Earth with their time travel machines, we'll be able to see Alvvays on the same stage as The Beatles. Without the hype, and only talent and showmanship to go by, guess which will win Battle Of The Bands. .... Every time.
So fucking excited for blue rev!! Also i heard easy on your own on cbc last evening, so it’s fair to say the world wants me to listen to more alvvays than i already do lol
