I think that was because of production. Alyssa by this point was starting to have a feud with Jade. After this, Coco and Alyssa didn’t really seem to care about their feud anymore until the “Girl look how orange you look” moment. The season seemed to be edited to look like that they were still mad at each other. Coco chose Alyssa to be on her team during the dance challenge because she is a dancer and it’s clear that they had started to mend their friendship as they didn’t even get into any arguments during rehearsal. Alyssa’s biggest drama was with Jade but that apparently wasn’t considered to be good tv by the producers.

What happened was that Alyssa basically didn't have the time to give to fulfil the responsibility to this particular crown and she ended getting into an argument I think with the owners of the pagent so the owners dethroned her and gave it to her first runner up Coco but they didn't give Coco a choice on wether or not she could accept it, if she didntshe could've been sued. Coco talks about it her Hey Queen she's in a yellow outfit

+Hannah Mitch Here's the T, Coco and Alyssa were the best of friends during their Miss Gay America days, Alyssa won the crown but then she got dethroned because Coco was I guess flying everywhere and telling everyone that Alyssa can't fulfill her reign, so after that Coco gets crowned as the new Miss Gay America. They didn't talked for 2 years because of that, Alyssa has moved on from that incident but Coco wants to bring the shit up again and again and continues to hold grudges against Alyssa through out the season. But anyway their best friends again so yeah.
