WHAT THE HECK IS IT KIGHT AND NOT AND KNIGHT???? I can’t believe I’ve missed that😂 best part is I’ve already filmed games 5/6/7 where I call him Knight also. So this may just have to be our inside joke that this is Santiago KNIGHT now
Regarding question in the video: I’m a big fan of the no music and no commentators. I like the chill vibes of the lo-fi, but without it, feels more like I’m watching an actual college football game day. No announcers makes you easier to hear and you’re not talking over each other. Also I just realized, I think Santiago’s last name is Kight, not Knight. (Not trying to nit-pick, but just a funny thing I didn’t notice until now)
Dude I genuinely had no idea either until all of yall commented on this vid 🤣🤣🤣🤣 what sucks is I’ve already filmed games 5-6-7 and I’ve been calling him Knight in all of them🤣🤣
Love this series. One tip that has helped me a lot on offense is to answer these 4 questions before I snap the bal: - Where are the safeties and how are they aligned? - How are the corners aligned? - How many are in the box? Do I have enough blocking? - if they blitz, what’s my hot route?
On RPO plays with a quick hitch, it should be your 1st read. On a presnap read, if the CB is off the ball its open 95% of the time. Take the quick easy 6 yds completion. Also, love the series! Actual gameplay vs practice mode!
Im legit hooked on this series 😂😂. No offense, but there are much better players recording their rebuilds, but your series is not only more entertaining, but has also made me a better player
I didn't realize till I read the comments that the music is gone. I enjoy the non lo-fi music it makes if it feels more intense. Ps: Hold A all the way on Ex points to get an average power kick PPS: I think sacks count as negative Rush yards because of the wildcat
Valiant effort in this one Max. The pick in the endzone really cost you though, that would have been the perfect time for a qb sneak! I realize you probably record these in advance so you haven't had time to adjust but I'm telling you they can be a game changer. In terms of your offense in general for this game, I think you are relying way too much on the deep ball. You were looking for the deep shot on a lot of your plays and I think that's risky. Runs and short passes aren't as satisfying as a big 50 yard td to Magwood but I think it will be more reliable. I would look for the four verticals when the defense is playing press with only a single high safety, but less often against other looks. Your first scoring drive was perfect, using the jet sweep, the HB slip screen, getting your best players in open space and taking what the defense gave you. I think that should be the blueprint for your offense moving forward. Looking forward to the next game.
Yeah you’re right - also I do record them in advance since I can’t play during the week, but I have a big surprise for ya after game 6. Making a fully custom offensive playbook to add in regular goal line (for the QB sneak) and other QB run type plays (I found an insane one out of pistol) So yeah, may be a couple more vids till you see it but new offensive formations coming soon!!
@maxplayscfb Awesome, can't wait to see the new playbook. I don't think your defense has been bad, it's only really the offense that needs changes and even there I think a few small tweaks will go a long way.
Tough game, Max. Scored too fast to take the lead! My only advice is to maybe trust your run game more - Davis is a beast! Ground and pound might be worth trying. Keep up the good work! Love these chronicles.
Letting go of RT are faster versions of those moves (i.e. spinning with RT is a huge spin past several defenders, letting go of RT before hitting B makes a quick spin past solo defenders)
A better “juke” is using the precise cutting animation by pressing/holding L2 when cutting back against a tackler. It provides a sharper cut and a small speed boost.
Kelly this week was only used for running qb plays. Semonza is the clear qb in real life and almost lead ball state to beat vandy. I would use semonza for the most part if you want to win.
On 3rd and long situations try the PA comebacks, its in the Shotgun Spread Dbl Flex formation. Just hold the left stick down when you throw it to either receiver on the left or right. It works 90% of the time.
With pass protection/blocking in general, you should always half slide to the side of the defender closest to the center on the LOS. (in real life its called a 0, 1, or 2i Technique) It's the way it is done on the O Line (more or less, it's more complex than that, but not in video football). If you are running the ball, make sure the Weakside backer, or MLB is identified as the Mike. These two things will improve blocking tremendously. I think you are right though, play action seems like they do not block at all and is bugged, all the sliding and shit in the world won't fix that.
I often hot route my RB who's suppose to recieve the handoff just to avoid getting caught in the animation (its still viewed as PA in the AI's book so they'll bite now & then)
Definitely don't need the commentators but I didn't mind the chill atmosphere of the music. The music was just slightly too loud sometimes. Either way. Commentators? Music? Who cares? This is still BY FAR my favorite NCAA RU-vid content. You aren't some top-tier, elite of the elite gamer who gets to degen video games 12 hours a day for living. You are a normal working person who finds time to play the game in their leisure hours and that is EXACTLY what makes you so incredibly enjoyable to watch. You are learning and enjoying the game right beside the rest of who only get a few hours, at best, any given day to play. The way you breakdown how you read a defense and form custom plays and audibles is really fun and I'm enjoying every video, win or lose.
Also, I’ve heard that pitches are really broken in the game right now, so it’s probably a good idea to avoid option plays that involve pitches just to be safe! Just my two cents for you bro
I play an option-based offense and IMO pitches are a lot more fair now, but you definitely have to be way more conservative on the pitch now compared to when the game released. You used to be able to pull off a lot of BS pitches that you'll get punished for now.
Yeah I agree, a couple of yall pointed out the pitch update and you’re 100% right. I just love them so much so I’ve tried to limit it and ONLY pitch longgggg before contact and it’s gotten a lot more successful when I do that
I do this all the time and am actively trying to get better about it, but in some cases you're hot routing out of a good look into a bad one. The verts play around 13:30 is would take the safety out of the play with magwood's route. But since hes on a hitch, the safety isn't pushed up the field.
@@maxplayscfb that one pained me, gotta say. I can understand if you got a 3rd down stop, but not after 1st. I got to see that in action as my UCLA Bruins finally got another win, helped out by Rutgers calling a TO at the end of the first half after getting a sack. UCLA then got a TD to go up 21-10.
@maxplayscfb get the in last 2 min of half cpu turns in to having Joe monbrady at qb, Adrian payton sanders at HB and freaking Jerry Moss at WR. Just give coverage with DBs, play overtop and hope you hold to FG
Also I would use your tight end more. Kozial is a beast in real life and gets 5+ catches in real life and is one of the players that are projected to go the nfl. Bowick is slow as molasses but a big target.
I agree. I still want the game to feel like a big game. Totally understand the commentators are worthless with Max giving his own commentary but I like the music and stadium sounds.
Yeah I think the argument that no music = more intense gameday vibe is for sure true. But also yeah, there are times when I just wanna have a nice relaxing game Maybe I incorporate it in the slower parts of the game (near the end if it’s not close)
@maxplayscfb i understand the intensity argument, but at 0-4, it's intense enough lol.. just my 2 cents while your listening 1) the computer really only runs the same 3-4 plays in the opposite direction get a key on what that is and you can put all players in better position. 2) when you recruit get players for your style of play also 3 star gems have excellent development traits. Time spent there is better imo instead of a random 4 star for the sake of being a 4 star recruit. Good luck
Correction ... your LG & C should be benched next game for the blocking display on that last play of the game ... Magwood open deep but no time to throw because ULM DT beat a double team of Dumb & Dumber
Gardner has 95 strength also.. jfc!!! Also ur pass protection problem on playbaction plays is bcuz the cpu is pass committing on the play.. a fix for this is audibling to a run... i typically nearly always audible to a run if they show 2 high..
Max I feel like your gameplay has gone backwards as you are limiting yourself to just a few plays on both sides of the ball. Only successful Passing plays are either go routes or wheels. I’d recommend trying to run some plays as is, you spend a lot of time changing the play at the line of scrimmage from something someone schemed up to the 1 or 2 plays you like…. Your run game is decent, now add in some short to medium passing save the deep shots for specific occasions like 2nd and medium/short.
I agree - I’ve been trying to balance the whole “entertain and educate the viewers” with “lock in and play my best”, and lately I have NOT been playing as good as I can be. I already filmed games 5/6/7 but I think I have some serious improvement to show yall
