Leave the 2dr car alone with the 327 and go find the original parts for the 4dr car

I had a 67 and it may have been the best car I ever owned. Paid $287 for it in 1977. Cannibalizing it for that 4 door is a sin. Sacre bleau!

I had a 67 Impala SS with a 396 when I was young. Jacked up the rear end with air shocks and put fat tires on it. Stupidly sold it for $150 when it needed brakes.

MGP: If you're gonna restore a few 67 Chevrolets just buy your self a bunch of 67 parts cars. Killing a good coupe makes no sense even with t he 4 door as Christine style status.

To me it Sounded like you were trying to come up with a reason to justify why you were doing it and a bad job at it. I wish you well with your decision but I feel as I know alot more do that you should save the two door and wait to find a different donor car for the two door.

It’s funny seeing people plead for you to save the 2 door when they fetch pennies compared to the 4 door hardtop. Right now in my area there’s a nice restored 2 door for sale for only 3k more dollars than what my project 4 door hardtop cost me. I paid 15,000 for my 4 door hardtop and he’s asking 18,000 for his. You’d probably be better off robbing a 4 door post for parts than the 2 door, but you’re still making the right choice. Save that 4 door hardtop, that’s where the money is.

I'm in Austria and there's a brown 67 h/t in my village - the owner keeps getting offers for it or asked when he's going to convert it (he won't, it's been in Austria since new and has interesting history, I believe it was owned by a certain Mr. Glock at one point) and this is Europe, not the US.

So food for thought here, being as your saying its about the return vs investment. I remember you getting the yellow one with the same outlook being a 'Supernatural' candidate. HOWEVER, IF they're sought after as you say, then why hasn't the yellow one sold by now? So obviously they're not completely dried up, seeing as you've obtained another; has the most recent one sold? IF no, then i agree with others about combining the 2 4dr hardtops, being as neither was complete. If NONE were sold immediately after purchase, then yes, you are making a mistake parting a COMPLETE 2dr, to 'try' & sell a 4dr movie/tv wanna be car that needs a parts car. I also agree with other's comments that the 2dr is a quicker sale, if not for the money 'supposedly' there for 1 or 2 4drs that haven't even sold yet. Especially when you consider that, the 2dr is probably still numbers matching, judging by overall appearance. We all see you have the ability to locate parts cars with ease, it seems like a more solid business choice to use that to complete the 2 cars, vs sacrifice a solid seller all day long. Just my two cents, though it IS your choice & business. Best of luck on it.

There are still plenty of 4 dr cars to fix the 4 dr. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time on that 4dr, I'd fix the 2dr all day long and put a proper paint job on it. Patina is short for too cheap to do a proper restoration! It's your car so you do what ever but as you see in the comments, not many are for a movie car replica.I haven't even heard of that movie!

To answer your question, yes. With the resources you have you ll find another 67 and save both that you have now.

My brother had a lot of these, both 2 and 4 door impalas and the 2 door ones always sold for 2 - 3 time what the 4 door ones would sale for.

Chevy made a 4-door convertible concept. I believe it was called the Caribbean or something like that. I always wanted to do a copy of that car or a 65-69 corvair 4-door convertible. Other than that, I am a 2-door guy.

I have a 4 dr ht and im useing a 4 dr post sedan as a parts car i have a video of the green sedan im useing for my ht but im missing the back glass outer chrome molding for my ht i cant use the 4 dr post sedans so if u can sell me a set or if u wanna work a trade ive been owning 67s since the 90s even b4 that show but unfortunatly there are none left over here on the eastcoast im in maryland so if u can do me a solid and find me the back glass outer molding n sell it to me that would be great. Most of the 67s ive owned were 2 dr but years go by and ive sold them traded them wrecked them and today i only have 2 left a 4 dr sedan and a 4 dr ht and unfortunatly i am missing the rear glass outer molding.ive been subscribed to ur channel for a long time and i gotta say u are very fortunate that u live where u live and have access to the yards u do cus there aint nothing like that here in maryland or near me on the east coast. Sorry, but I'm revisiting this. I found it very hard to believe that the 4 dr HT would outprice the 2 dr HT. Checking JD Powers, I am right. 1967 Chevy Caprice 2 dr HT average sale price, Chicago area is $12,650.00. 4Dr HT same market and condition is $7,950.00. Now, if you believe the movie car clone potential drives up the 4 dr price I cannot predict that, but I would disagree. I don't see the General Lee type of hype that would be required to provide that sort of demand. Also, if I am right, you propose providing a basis for such a clone, not a finished product. Big difference right there. If the bumperettes on the 2 dr add value to your 4 dr HT with anticipation of a customer for your vision, go right ahead and harvest the parts. Parting the 2 dr HT any further would be a huge financial mistake. My opinion and I know you have yours and they are your cars, so you will do what you must. Thank you for the content you produce, I do find it well worthwhile watching.

Isn’t a 2 door hardtop worth about twice what a 4 door hardtop is? Of course it depends on condition and drivetrain as well as color and options, but like for like 9 out of 10 people would rather have the 2 door.

Our friends Mom had a four door dark purple one like the blue one. They parked it in the 80's and revived it in the 2000s but it was quite weathered by then. Lol

Keep in mind that during the last 10 years or so 4dr new cars outsell 2dr by a large margin. 20 years from now when the baby boomers are mostly gone there may be more demand for 4dr cars as that is what many future car collectors will grow up with. Same is true with automatics vs. manuals.

I always thought the 4 door hardtop looked better. The 2 door just looked out of portion . Fine looking topless, just strange as a fastback. Never saw the show, the rims are ugly on the show car btw. If someone loves that fastback you bought, they can buy the carcass and then find and "kill" a 4 door or wagon to put it together again if it means that much to them, right? Or perhaps the offers for the precious unicorn two door should start pouring in before it gets sacrificed...
