I didn’t know that through patience and endurance we inherit the promises ( not working to earn from God because Grace is free) I read about the fruits of the spirit in the Bible and was immediately depressed thinking “I don’t see this I’m not saved” it brought such bad depression in my life it lasted for years until the Lord brought me out of it through his word and the spirit Imagine believing God, actually believing what he said and leaving sin to follow him but not knowing that Sanctification is long term I thought it was instant (it’s so easy to see sin in myself) DISCIPLESHIP IS HUGE FOR CHRISTIANS please don’t neglect it for yourself or others The Lord is faithful and many wonderful truths of Christ and growth came from my struggles. Also many habits of constant prayer and seeking Him in the Bible came from that and I believe and follow Jesus even today with a greater hunger for Him and His righteousness than before So in a weird way I wouldn’t change anything maybe in Gods working this was all apart of His plan for my growth
I did what it does is dangerous I stopped smoking cussing dressing like a thug ect ect ect And I was set apart but I was not Holy Wasn't sanctified Was struggling Was thinking I was in control And slowly started backsliding It's best to 1 by 1 by the Holy Spirit guidance to knock off and petrify the biggest sin He convicted us of at that time and keep whittling it down as He guides And that has been the best most effective way to keep those things off and not pick up again
