Thank you for your understanding on why I needed to take some time from posting while I processed this. Even though I knew it was a possibility, I foolishly thought I’d be able to keep going with videos despite it.
I’ve been quiet here, but will be back posting videos to answer your questions and share my journey. I just needed a minute to process with my family.
I sincerely hope this video helps make these conversations easier for all of us.

That was the most honest conversation I have ever heard, and even though you held it together, the pain in your heart was palpable. I am not going to say all those cliché things people say, because you are right. Women don’t want to hear those things when in the midst of such sadness. I will say that you were brave, and eloquent for sharing so that other women, even if it is only one, do not feel alone. You are so beautiful and unselfish Dr Jolene. You didn’t have to share, but that loving, giving, caring doctor that you are knows your pain can help someone who might not understand what is happening in their own body. Thank you for being so raw and honest. Life sucks big sometimes, and this is one of those times for you. Be gentle to yourself. Grieving is a journey to healing. I know myself, and probably all the women in the world who care about Jolene, the woman, are sending big, big hugs. ❤️

Thank you for sharing, this has come at such a perfect time for me. I am going through an "expectant management" ectopic pregnancy. It is THE HARDEST thing I've gone through. Hearing that you also have gone through the horrible roller-coaster.. I've found out I'm pregnant, then not pregnant, then molar, then miscarriage, then pregnant again to ectopic.. not to mention all the pain and bleeding. It is so so difficult and hearing about how ur coping with this has made me feel not so crazy for my non stop crying and sadness. So thank you so much for sharing xx

My heart is breaking for you. I'm so sorry this is your reality right now. Thank you for speaking about your loss, a "taboo" subject, which absolutely is unfair. Not only do women who suffer miscarriage and stillbirth have to endure such tragic losses, then we are usually made to feel we need to keep them to ourselves because it makes others uncomfortable. Thank you for this video. Love and light coming your way 🤍✨️

Oh Dr. B, I’m so sorry to hear this. You are right- there are no words that can make it better. I do want to thank you for sharing this story, as painful as it is. It’s true, we have normalized not talking about these things and too many women go through it alone, in secrecy or with very limited support. My heart goes out to you. Sending lots of love. ❤️

This video really hit home for me. I had a miscarriage in April and the tears were endless. I feel like I will always carry that as a part of me now. I wish I could say something to help you feel better but I know there are no words. You have to be able to process it all in your own time. Everything people say to try and make the situation better doesn’t help at all, in fact I think it does the opposite. Truly, it just sucks. My hope is to reiterate what you said, in that you are not alone. You are doing the best you can. You are brave❤️ Lots of love to you!

Thank you for this message. I had a miscarriage several years ago and I feel like that wound opened back up again. It’s always a hard thing to process and it’s even harder when we feel like we can’t talk about it.

I had my first child at 24, she has special needs. She’s 15 now. I had a miscarriage at 29 then I finally got brave enough ten years later and had a healthy baby boy at 39 years old, now I want another ….. terrified of all the scary things that can happen. I’m 40 now, definitely not your average 40year old but still so scared

Thank you for recording this, especially with such a hard-to-speak topic. Even as a doctor you get gaslighted when you know something is wrong. I love your content and it has helped me so much to learn how to speak with my doctors about my endo issues. I had a miscarriage at the peak of my career and I didn't know how to handle the grieving. It was so hard for me to balance my job and the mental load of the loss I experienced, I had to resigned. There are so many women going through the same and feeling so lonely, but videos like this break the stigma and definitely helped us feel less lonely. Thank you for all the work you do and the information you provide us with every day. :*

I just came across your channel. Unfortunately like you my husband and myself just lost our baby this past long weekend, the baby was nearly a week away from second trimester. My body struggled to let go so I chose to do a D&C. I feel completely devestated. There are no words to begin to describe the pain, the frustration and discouragement I feel.. I feel like it's never going to happen, to have one child of our own 😔💔 I have two strikes against me: PCOS and a heart shaped uterus.. I won't stop crying at pretty much the most random things that trigger it. My heart grieves and unites with you during this painful time. Sending you my thoughts and prayers 💞 💓 I don't have a family doctor where I live so I feel very alone medically as we go through this painful process..

@@DrJoleneBrighten thank you so much 💓.. I had a very early on miscarriage back in 2018 that was a surprise I was even pregnant to begin with as my first official diagnosed miscarriage, but sadly with my condition it's possible I have had more. This is the only one I was aware of that I was pregnant but only for a couple days and then the prospect of motherhood was ripped away from me.. I am currently on the hunt for a family doctor to help me through this process and to see if there are any tips or advice they have for me. I really want to carry a pregnancy to full term (or upwards until I have the ceasection process) and have a beautiful baby to raise but right now I feel like we are shooting for the stars..

I admire your strength and bravery in creating this video. I went through an almost identical situation to yours in the spring and I induced my miscarriage in May. 9 weeks later I was still bleeding and ended up needing a D&C. Literally the most traumatic event to happen to me, as my husband was deployed overseas and i had to process this without him and also take care of my 2 year old. To say miscarriages are tragic is an understatement. Society is doing women a disservice and we NEED to talk about and normalize this. Please know I am with you in your suffering and you are in my thoughts. Thank you for being a voice for us women! Keep sharing your light with the world. Xx

Sending so much love ❤️ I’m so sorry for your loss. Also thank you for sharing this part of your journey it’s what makes us feel we’re not alone and that our story can help another one going through a similar situation. You’re so brave, such an example of honesty and the best teacher ever, I’ve learnt so much from you, thank you. 🙌🏼❤️

Thank you for sharing Dr Jolene. I went through two miscarriages last year (one silent which I had never heard of) and one a few months later. We are 2 years into this journey and still trying for our first but I’m scared to hope it could be a good outcome. Miscarriages are so painful and the waiting and not knowing (had it with both miscarriages and waiting between scans) is awful.. really tough. You are very brave and thank you for sharing your story.. I’ve been very open about my experiences in hopes it encourages others to talk and not feel so alone, so you sharing helps a lot (even though I’m sure it was very difficult to share). Thank you and sending you lots of love xxx

Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t imagine how hard it is. I am currently miscarrying a pregnancy for the first time (we’ve already had a son born so far), and it’s been devastating despite how short along or far along we were. The words you said spoke straight to my heart. I’m grieving right with you.

I really appreciate your transparency and allowing us to have a window into your journey. As a student of Integrative Health, I've been struggling with my own thoughts and emotions as I go on a journey toward expanding my family. I find comfort in knowing that we have had some similar thoughts and feelings along the way, and although our experiences have been different, there are some very real shared responses. I have been struggling with allowing myself room to be human because I'm supposed to be the professional (I should know what's going on, and I should be prepared for this). I'm glad that you caught yourself and made room for your humanity. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sending love. I have had 2 miscarriages and have never carried to term. It’s heartbreaking. And lonely. After the last one I have not tried again. I was in my early 40s then and could not take the heartbreak of another one. I’m so very sorry. It’s so hard to go through, and painful also.
