Yes! As someone that loves actual tints, it's very misleading. I love tint, less coverage the better, like Pixie H2O Skin tint and LANEIGE Water Glow Gel Foundation. Everyone is milking the tint trend, I'd love to see them actually make skin tints.
This is actually the reason blue shampoo exists, too! If you're trying to pull out any orange tones in your hair you use blue. For yellow, you use purple!
i add blue color corrector to my foundations too because of you, and now they color always fits my true skin tone! i hope one day we won't have to do it manually and a company focuses on undertones and large ranges of shades while having a lasting formula. its too much to ask but also the bare minimum all at the same time lol!
Might be a silly question, but where do you find the best one for this? My foundations/concealers are either too yellow or too orange. Only one that hasn't done this to me is dior
@@antiromantic986 I actually stopped using foundation now, but what I used to do was use a giorgio armani foundation (it was my moms leftover foundation haha, which is also why i stopped using it as it ran out) and it was actually quite orange, but otherwise worked with my skin tone. and i used elf color corrector (its a bright blue one actually, since the foundation was also somewhat greyish/dull, so the brightness of the blue cancelled that) and it became the perfect shade! make sure to get the one that is blue, and if you have redness on your skin, you could mix in green instead!
@@antiromantic986elf has blue correctors. So does LA girl, that one actually comes in larger bottle. Both are affordable and gets the job done. I think nyx has one too
I use this! I was surprised that it's so full coverage considering it's called a skin tint?? BUT the texture is nice and it STICKSSSSS to my skin and does not move all day. It also does look like my own skin!
Hi! I’m no makeup professional but I love doing research or watching tons of videos. I’m not sure if what I’m saying is 100% accurate though. I don’t believe you have to use/set it with powder afterwards, but like foundation you could set it with a powder I think. Personally I think setting it with powder would look better but unless it does make another kind of difference, it’s just up to you
@@hadell8016 no I don't, but I have dry skin so powder doesn't work very well with me. I use a setting spray of I'm going be wearing it for long hours.
Love this, picked it up and I have sensitive,oily,acne prone skin and it looked so good and natural.. I just added matte pore-less powder to combat the oil… it held up all day and did not make me breakout!!
@@Kagehinao3o I think it would work as long as you use a good moisturizer and hydrating primer… I just use a matte but that’s because I have oily skin. I think that the tint doesn’t seem drying and gives a dewy finish but light and very beautiful. Im not an expert but just my opinion. I hope that helps 🥰
Tip from an artist on colour theory, if you can you should get the colour correcter in a more purple shade of blue to fix yellow foundation as well, otherwise it’ll look green tinted not cool toned
Question, please! How do I pare down foundations that are too red and make it more golden? I’m a black woman and foundations in my shade are always too reddish.
@@Luvanmusiqmaybe add more yellow? Yellow is a primary colour unfortunately so you cant mix colours to get that so you actually have to get a yellow colour corrector and mix it in. I'm yellow af too and medium to pale skintone I find most foundations are too orange or peachy so I have to use a lot of yellow to get to a close shade of my skintone.
Honestly, she's really not using a lot of product on her face at all...Plus, most skin makeup products (foundation, concealer, etc.) are made for layering so you can get more coverage if that's what you want. She said she wanted to cover her hyperpigmentation so she clearly used enough to achieve the level of coverage she needed for that to be done. That being said, I also don't think her skin looked textured at all, like at all lol. You can also still warm up the product without using her hands. Just pump it onto the back of your hand instead of applying directly on your face, and warm it up with your brush before applying. Considering the fact that her page is pretty much all about makeup content, whether it's trying/reviewing products. educating people on the best products to use for their skin type/tone, giving makeup tutorials, or straight up serving makeup looks...I'd bet a lot that there's not much we know about makeup that she doesn't, therefore she already knows all of these tips/tricks anyways. :)
I'm an olive toned black person who's very close in color to you and I hate that drugstore always makes us yellow or orange or red. We have peach and olive tones too in deeper tones!! It's actually very common. I have to add green to every one of my foundations/concealers. The closest I've ever gotten in shade match is Warm Olive in Elf's Hydrating Camo Concealer.
I bought this foundation in the summer, and it was too dark in the winter when my skin lightened in the winter, and I had to get a lighter shade for the winter. Another RU-vidr had the same thing happen to her.😅
Our skintone is actually similar and we use the same shades of foundation, so I find that I can trust your input when it comes to foundations and and concealers. I also didn't know about Maybelline skin tint, so if I come across it, I'll definity try it out!
I didn't know Maybelline had a skin tint! I tried the Loreal one that went viral and it's OK but feels gritty. I love Maybelline Fit Me(105) and I still have to add a little blue corrector.
If you're a neutral brown girl, I can see the issues. I'm a black girl with a really warm undertone, so I don't have nearly the issues with needing color corrector as neutral or even cool girls have to have.
I just tried this out yesterday and I like it! Shade range does seem to run warm, or maybe oxidize (I got my winter shade and it’s right for summer if that tells you anything)

I love the Maybelline skin tint! As a pale cool-toned girly, it is pretty darn warm in color. But it looks great, especially over a glowy base and is super easy to work with
Use your color wheel, folks. Blue and orange neutralize one another. Red and green. Yellow and violet. The same is true for hair color. I hope this helps.

I think what you do for us brown girls is amazing and helps a lot of us out, although admittedly me being a fairer brown girl I haven't experienced as much struggle as my sisters have, I still acknowledge your impact. However, I hope you can support your fellow muslim brown girls as well. Brands like nyx and maybelline come out with great products, but they also fund israel so indirectly fund the genocide in gaza. This is the best brown girl makeup hack ever! I love how she adds blue pigment to turn a warm foundation neutral. I am a brown girl with an olive undertone so I add green corrector to my foundation to eliminate the warm orangey tone and it works a treat! Ladies, we can literally customise our own Desi shades! 😂

I use this and it’s 🔥 my skin hasn’t looked this good in years and I only have the use the smallest amount to cover me for the whole day. It’s even more beautiful over the elf radiance primer and doesn’t pill or set into lines at all
I love this, but I like skin tints because of the mild coverage. I feel like this is just a full-coverage foundation and they're calling it a tint because of its lightweight formula.
Girl I bought this with low expectations and I'm so pleasantly surprised. It's my go to for work since I reserve medium full coverage foundations for special occasions only. This is like my skin but better and feels so light on the skin. 10/10 recommend
Yes! Please do a west test! I usually don't wear a tint or bb/cc cream when I work bec I'm afraid that it will just melt off and I need the staying power..
I'm a 330 too in Maybelline, I've always had problem in selecting foundations and base products online. But now I'll just look for shades you use lol. Ice got a reference now, also, I could go to a Sephore but in my country they tend to suggest shaeds that are 1-2 shades lighter. EVEN IN SEPHORA.
Tint = foundation + moisturizer. You can make with your own foundation and moisturizer too. But, tint is breathable, easier to apply and looks flawless on skin.
