Ways to reduce employee turnover: 1. Employees just like everyone else need a structure from which they can shape the rest of their lives around. They want specific details on what to do with their time. That's why you need to have systems and processes in place documented in operations manuals. 2. You need to create a reward system, a game of sorts which guarantees a future reward. This is a bit complicated, but the easiest way to do this is to have an organizational chart, not only showing who is accountable to who, but also where one is currently, and the possibility of moving on higher. 3. The problems you are struggling with are already solved by successful businesses around you, e.g. Maybelline. Digest their whole business because there is no need to reinvent the wheel. (P.S. Chapter 3 & 4 of the 'E-Myth Revisited' by Michael Gerber explains the problem you are going through of hiring, the employees leaving and you having to do everything by yourself again)

I wish more small business owners were like you when it comes to asking themselves what is reasonable to expect from an employee. Unless I am part of the profit sharing team I will treat my job as an 8-5 and invest in myself the other hours. Unless there are really good incentives, business owners really need to understand that employees have a whole other life outside their work. When we come to your channel Joanna, we see you thrive but we also see you struggle with things, some days you struggle to work and end up just watching Netflix, employees also have those kinds of days, they deserve a reasonable amount of grace and I am glad you are leaning more into that understanding. Thanks for sharing that self introspective moment.

Loove the vlog. On the staff turnover l imagine it's frustrating. My two cents, If you can, you can incorporate a HR expert during hiring process so that you can get the right fit. Also do reviews with the employees so you can get feedback and gauge what's working and what you can do better.
