The Martin Amaewhule-led House of Assembly has shut down all expenditures of the Rivers State governor until Governor Siminalayi Fubara presents his budget before the House.
This follows a seven-day ultimatum the lawmakers gave the governor to present his budget before the House.
The Leader of the House Major Jack raised the motion informing the House about the expiration of the seven-day ultimatum given to the governor to present the 2024 budget before the House.

The 25 law maker are very correct and in order. If there should be any reason to impeach the Governor and they do so by the provision of the constitution, they will be correct in the eyes of the law. I mean the federal court and not the state court. Do you understand

We can't have a Governor who is basically incapacitated because a former Governor wants to rule for a 3rd term. You just made it about Peter Obi which tells me that you know nothing about Rivers state. Educate yourself on the matter. I don't care about Obi. I'm a Rivers man, I care about Rivers state. We supported Wike for 8years and we'll support Fubara. Got it? As for the court cases, we'll see who'll have the last laugh, my guess is it won't be people in your camp.

I am not for anybody but this Wike's faction is playing by the rule of law by the time supreme Court is called upon to give interpretation Fubara would have no ground....the Governor's needs a mixture of seasoned politicians and sound legal counsels...if this lawmakers are recognized thereafter by the supreme Court any kobo the Governor spends after this legislative order amounts to spending without appropriation and it's an impeachable offense

The reason the guys has the guts to do these nonsense is because it is in Nigeria where madness is now seen as a normal thing.they knew that they have lost their seats that’s why they are thanking the president every now and then hoping that he’ll use his power as president to manipulate the judiciary in favor of them but I’m happy that this matter is not an easy one for the president to interfere cos the constitution is clear on defection.

Nigerians can talk ehn, smart people are diplomatic, open your eyes, wike will win in the Supreme Court, now seeing that fubara is bent on showing strength, he will go ahead and continue to spend. On the proclamation of the Supreme Court judgement that the 27 assembly members hold their seat, automatically makes what they are saying here law, which means fubara moved contrary to the law of the assembly- an impeachable offense. This means that the assembly does not need another excuse to impeach him a day after the Supreme Court judgement. Lolololol, this is so funny. I THINK FUBARA WAS NOT SMART ENOUGH, IT WAS TOO EARLY.
