Well my oldest daughter's name is Amanda, and she is truly my Hero, we've had our ups and downs, but at the end of the day, there's nothing I wouldn't do for her or either one of my other two children...They are and always will be my reason for living, breathing, and continuing forward in this life....I love you all more than you will ever know
'Tis better to have never loved at all than to go through the absolute gut wrenching desolation of your soul when the love of your life walks out the door forever.
Every girl named Amanda can relate to this song. But what about the guy that never told her that he loved her. On the flip side. The solo in this song sings the lyrics. Great guitar all the way through. So to Amanda I never told you I love and tomorrow came and I was too late. I love you
This was even posted by an Amanda. That's energy enough for a 25 year old to play an unfamiliar Boston song. And wow... I was flabbergasted. Utterly bamboozled. Astonished. An amazing discovery.
I bought this album Boston back in 77 It's just one of them albums that sounds good front and back, still have it and play it on my SL 2000 technics turntable. #vinyl #rocknroll #boston ✌
I named my daughter after this song as well - I love this album - all of Boston's music, but especially this one. I sang this to her and played it for her many times after she was born (1990) she loves it too!
AMANDA by BOSTON is FANTASTIC! As is the rest of the album Amanda is on. Also, their album title "BOSTON" from the late 70's is FREAKING FABULOUS !!! U never hear much about them any More .....But rest assured, they were a force to be reckoned with from the mid 70's thru the late 80's. Every son on every album they made was too notch! Wonder what they are doing now? Their music was a Huge presence on the soundtrack of my youth!!!! BOSTON ROCKS!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I graduated from high school in 82. Boston was BOSTON, Good Times for sure. My daughter had a very Good friend who past away on July 20 only 22 such a special lady. Her name was Amanda just made me think about this song. Know she in a better place it was nice to just hear this song again.
I heard this for the first time in '86 on way home from the hospital where I'd nearly died. I was 19. It was like a sureal message of hope and new beginnings!!!
My dad always had sang that song to my mom, Mandi aka Amanda. He sadly passed away in 2007. This song not only reminds me of how much my dad loved my mom, it reminds me that I need a man like my dad. For how much he loved my mom.
AMERICA ARE YOU LISTENING TO THIS I AM 51YR OLD AND GOOD MEMORIES THAT I WILL NEVER, NEVER FORGET BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL THOSE AROUND MY AGE KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT THE BOY AND THE GIRL VERY GOOD MEMORIES AMERICA HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AMERICA AND BE KIND TO OTHERS AMERICAN STRONG 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This song hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts during the week of 11/15/1986. It was Boston's only number one hit. "Amanda" was originally recorded in 1980, but it was shelved for six years until it started playing on radio stations and became a AOR hit in 1986.
My Condolences. You didn't lose her. God gives life and doesn't take it away. Your daughter has returned to Our Loving Creator. You will meet her again if you trust in His Love for you by what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us. May God comfort you with these words. Peace to you. 😘
I wasn't named after this song but, after marrying an American and learning English, she thought it the most beautiful name to name a daughter. Love you mom and dad
Was looking for a song with my name in it, and I got this, I can live with thiat :) Just need the guy to have them feelings for me now haha....Thou if Bowie had wrote a love song called Amanda I would need nothing more in life!
My name is Amanda and my parents named me after this song my dad every year on my birthday my dad would play this song but sadly my dad passed away in February 10 ,2023
Felicitaciones a las Amandas. Muy buena canción dedicada a ellas. Si llegara yo a tener una hija la llamaré Amanda por esta una de mis canciones favoritas.
My best male friend growing up, was 3 years older than me. And I had a major crush on him. He played this song for me one day when I was 15 and I was too dense too realize he was trying to tell me something. I felt like i was just lucky having him as a friend. I couldn't imagine he actually had feelings for me too. We eventually grew up and grew together and at 26 I married that man. We were best friends for 17 years. Married for 6 then we broke up and I lost my husband and best friend. I haven't seen him or spoken to him in years. It's sad really how someone can be such a big part of your life and mean so much to you, and they just walk away from you and disappear from your life like it never happened
Super galing ng Band na to,,,and I used to think the past 80's na dati nagagawa Kong kantahin ang song n to,,,I really miss those days especially n ksma ang barkada,
I used to work with this guy who was a few years older than me. He would come into work and sing “I’m gonna take you by surprise and make you realize, Amanda.” I had no idea what he was singing until years later. I love this song. I’ve always said I’ll know if I’m supposed to marry someone when they sing this to me.
awwh. my husband listened to this song before we were dating ( i listened to many other love songs too ) and now listening to this brought a tear to my eye
My parents did not name me after this song. I was a boy. And it was too far away in time yet. When it did came out on the airwaves, I quite hated Boston and their songs. Later on, in older age, I came to like it, maybe becausa I also became a musician, lead guitarist and singer for cover bands. Strangely, the song crept up to my system and, today it makes well tears in my eyes. Still don't kmow exactly why.
