Dragonfly is a short but lovely ballet that was choreographed by Anna Pavlova in 1914 or 1915. The wonderful music, Schon Rosmarin, is by Fritz Kreisler
I agree with goldenidol. Technique has to be a means to an end (artistic expression), not an end in itself. After all, when I was a girl in the 1930s, every ballet school taught its pupils The Dying Swan, because it was so simple (bourrees, poses and arabesques) so any competent dancer can perform it, but it takes an artist to transform it into a life and death struggle. I think it's important to distinguish between circus stunts (like fouettes) and technique.
