I absolutely respect Amanda's confidence, boldness, and determination to advocate for herself, all while acknowledging her self-worth. No one will take care of you, like YOU. Her 2019 Smart, Funny, and Black Show in ATL, definitely felt like a family reunion. She definitely speaks from a place of passion about the black experience, and how to operate in a space of, "this is for US" no matter what anyone has to say about it. I'll definitely be supporting this 2022 Tour.😊
U do know she lied on a black NFL player turned Neurosurgeon all bcuz he didn't want to date her. We listen to these people without doing anything research on them. She's a horrible person. Same woman that thought what Jussie did was low key noble
I will never understand why people feel like when you stand up for yourself especially in the work place ; you're being rude or disgruntle. NO you're just foul and being called on it. I don't care what Amanda said if she was mistreated she should be allowed to speak her truth. Not including her in the farewell says a lot about the show & proves her point. I always say people don't care about how folks go about things until it effects them
“We may not agree on everything. But we agree on US.” Man, your voice, your insight and point of view is soooo needed!! Thank you for doing it for black women and for simply being YOU.
U do know she lied on a black NFL player turned Neurosurgeon all bcuz he didn't want to date her. We listen to these people without doing anything research on them. She's a horrible person. Same woman that thought what Jussie did was low key noble.
The Real really proved her right there was no reason for them to exclude her. Amanda contributed so much substance to a show that was almost a gossip show, no wonder it got cancelled.
@@kaylasweet7257 so what. Her contribution to the show continued. Because of her, they continued to have deeper conversations about race and inequality even when she left. But the real wanted the good minorities who aren't to loud or are going to "shake the table ".
She was there for six months, and the producers were there from day 1. If it was going to cause an uncomfortable work environment to have Amanda back on set with people she talked trash about publicly, why would they have her back? Just like Monique, another occupational hazard. Inviting her back could have only gave Amanda more ammo to go out and talk about the producers, Again. Ruin Their reputations and possibly affect ppl wanting to work with them. Why on earth would they invite her back? Lol i can tell none of you ever ran a business before or had to manager personalities. It was not going to possible for Amanda and production to be on the same set. They picked the producers, who worked the show since day 1 and got an Emmy over Amanda who was there for 6 months, Whats hard to understand about that. Production does not trust her, can u blame them?
I'll give my two cents even though no one asked for it, lol. I've experienced many people like Amanda. They're fun, outspoken, charismatic, passionate, great to have in your corner.. but very draining at the same time. The type of people you love to death but know to keep at arms length. I have a friend or two like this. They have a version of themselves that they believe to be true, and tend to cling to people who champion them in that belief. They are self aware but lack accountability. Headstrong, opinionated, however, everything is a long drawn out debate or discussion; not realizing some things can just be. Also personable enough to get their foot into many spaces, but quick to react when there's a differences of opinion. The inability to bend/compromise, so they cut people off as a result. Constantly working on their ego, but have a hard time being honest with themselves. I like Amanda. I want to continue to like Amanda. Wishing her much success, but just like her podcast.. I can only take her in small doses.
Sounds like someone I use to date, having a conversation with him was always draining he never compromised or had the ability to understand other perspectives. I had to cut him off it was getting to the point where everything I was saying was not getting through at all, just stuck in his ways.
really? on her instagram she be blocking people left and right specially men , one thing is to stand up and speak anopther is just sounding mad and bitter all the time
I used to see Amanda on the g train in Bk and i remember her from my brother and me. Anyways it’s good to see her thriving. I have no issue with people standing up for themselves, that’s what we supposed to do. Let’s make it normal.
Call Amanda what you want...but, there's not doubt she's brilliant and speaks truth. She helped me get through the pandemic. Keep up the good work, lady.
U do know she lied on a black NFL player turned Neurosurgeon all bcuz he didn't want to date her. We listen to these people without doing anything research on them. She's a horrible person. Same woman that thought what Jussie did was low key noble. But she speaks the truth huh.
@@thoughtsofalostoneofalosto2591 if the claim you're saying is true, then no...I didn't know that. I haven't verified it, though. But what cracks me up is that you could also talk about the same misogynoir Charlemagne has dished in the past yet you're watching this show. And I have no clue why Jussie was brought into this. Is it because he's gay? Seems like you want to lead me down a Hebrew Israelite rabbit hole...and you can keep it.
@@ceemore7778 I didn't watch I just commented to let people know who these people have on their show. Don't get mad at me bcuz glorify people u don't even know. Also, u do know CTG pleaded guilty to lesser charges on a sex charge. I just like occasionally exposing the kind of people they have on their show. Smh
If she was so disappointed with how the crew was on the real , that she had to leave , then why would u even be bothered by the fact that you weren’t included in something you didn’t feel comfortable with ?
@@Tiger44140 I highly doubt that in the contract it stated anything about her being included in the finale of THE REAL lol . She spoke out and said negative things about the show so the producers must’ve decided to not include her . Oh well
I think the main problem folks have with Amanda is she will not look the other way, like most. She is willing to risk it all and speak up. There’s going to be abrasion with that approach because no one is comfortable with being corrected. I respect her immensely. Enjoyed the interview TBC!
When is she corrected? Where is the humility? Someone who has issues everywhere she goes to work need to start looking at herself. Thinking she’s too righteous for people is just too simple.
@@damd2999 So are you agreeing that a show about diversity, run by white woman, is correct and that they didnt need a new lead? Or are you saying she should have been nicer in her rejection of the concept?
@@robynp3893 No I actually didn’t mention the show. She has had issues in nearly everywhere she worked at, being around black or white people. Accountability and introspection are things she lacks, just like when she was saying that Jussie Smollet BS was lowkey noble. Her being nice or not isn’t an issue, her narcissism is.
When you're unapologetic and Black, it's going to be a problem for some people. When you are outspoken and Black, it's going to be a problem for some people. That being said, I absolutely LOVE her outspoken, unapologetic Blackness ❤️
Is that why no man wants to deal with her? Your attitude problem for some people, but if it's a problem to everyone, then it's clear that you are the issue.
I always love to hear her content and views. However, to speak so freely and unapologetically as she does is so refreshing that it hurts. Her success financially in my opinion grants her so much freedom of speech that most of us couldn't dream to have. And in regards to most of the shitty jobs and careers we have to suffer through just to provide for our families! It sucks! But her freedom to just fucking say it! ✊🏾 Keep going Queen, speak yo shit for us!!!💐💐💐
@@swatkins67 because y’all don’t got balls to stand up to authority. If she so difficult she sure keeps getting alot of jobs for a difficult person. Maybe shes not always the issue somebody need to hold management accountable most of yall out here willing to tuck y’all tail for a dollar so I respect her
Amanda need to accept accountability. The cast and crew of Insecure didn't mess with you as well and that's a totally different crew of Black producers. It doesn't matter if you're a "Black" woman, if you got a stank attitude, people aren't gonna like you. Cha is just gassing her up and also setting her up for failure.
Show me a black person who made a major or historical impact on black issues without being a little radical or passionate?? Her job is not becoming the ideal celebrity - it's fighting and advocating for black issues and that will always bring her hate no matter what
@@rovamidi Her views on Blackness has nothing to do with her having a bad attitude on two different shows and crews. Nice attempt on deflecting, but it didn't work.
Jeannie and Adrienne are the kind of friends you want. The fact that they reached out to Amanda not realizing she was going through it during the time she was on the show tells us that they’re are actually good people.
@@johnanon9280 Loni always seemed like a fraud...I never liked how she tried to get so close to Tamera knowing that her and Tamar we're getting close...
not BORING at all! i love each and every time Amanda comes on...dropping gems and light. and you can tell she's with family and i am HERE FOR IT all the time! continue to shine ya'll; cuz i love seeing it!
It's crazy how I watched her literally grow up from a kid until now, I remember her being in Nickelodeon as a kid on "my brother and me", she's the only one from that show i still see on shows and on media
Amanda one of my favorite black women in entertainment bruh speaks her mind despite the haters. I’ll ride with shawty till the wheels fall off yall aint gotta like everything she say. At the end of the day she gone stay true to who she is.
I rarely feed into narratives about people… but man, shorty is ALWAYS a “victim” of something. I mean ALWAYS. Even when they asked her about insecure, she gave a BEAUTIFUL analogy of what it was like, then in the last sentence slipped in …”I mean it wasn’t all positive, but” lol. Also, if didn’t like my job, called out my bosses and quit, I wouldn’t expect them to bring me back when the company decided to close the doors and celebrate the people. All people of the past don’t matter, you always, only focus on the ones that did.
I'm appreciating Amanda more and more. Sis is unapologetically Black. She truly looks at things through a "Black gaze". The Black gaze will put you at odds with non-black people. That's why The Real producers didn't like her. She was calling sh*t out.
I haven't been keeping up with Amanda Seales, but I'll always remember her as the girl on "My Brother and Me" which was the first Nickelodeon show featuring a predominantly Black cast ... those were the good old days. She used to go to war with GOO! lol I was 12 back in 1994 and I think Alfie, Dee-Dee, Goo, Melanie, and Dionne were around that age too. Now we are in our 40's. Time flies. I'm so proud to be an 80's baby. Entertainment is trash in today's time. Not the world Amanda (you just gotta separate yourself from it).
Ppl dont like her because she speaks the truth and stands her ground. She changes the dynamics in the workplace. I respect her because she is able to stand up and say no. Make change and leave space that dont serve her. It's called self respect.
Y’all really be thinking y’all know what’s goin on BEHIND the scenes of these TV shows!😫 That’s CRAZY!🤦🏾♀️ If you don’t like Amanda, say that, and move on!
I have always Rocked with Amanda Seales ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾💯💯💯 she isn't correct 100% of the time but which of our celebrities or faves are. She keeps it authentic to herself always and that's something I can respect
Lbh for a sec. Amanda’s attitude on the actual show was cold she would pick a fight with Jeanie everyday roll her eyes and give side eye to celebrity guests she didn’t like stay quiet on subjects she didn’t like which the whole point of the show is to have an opinion on everything
@@-rapha I agree cause I love her on her own this interview alone was hilarious but she shouldn’t trip on a montage moment she really gave nothing on that particular show
She likes accountability and very self righteous a lot. I’m not saying she doesn’t have good traits but yeah I see this a lot in her. She never talks about her role in things.
She literally thinks everyone hates her because she’s too smart and talented. She thinks she’s perfect and it’s everyone else who needs to change. I wish there was a word for that 🙄
You can always pick up the pro and con qualities of a woman by her marital status. People don't like to hear that but if someone doesn't want to claim you as their partner then its a red flag that something is going amiss upstairs.
I understand advocating for yourself, but we gotta at some point question why the drama is always surrounding the same person. The finger pointing in every situation shows the growth is slow. I actually like Amanda . Fight the power, but there's gotta be balance. Balance baby or live off the grid.
There is no way I would expect a company that I publicly or internally verbalized issues with would expect them to invite me back for a farewell celebration 🥴. That makes no sense in the world and I wouldn't even want to be there.
It wasn’t about being invited back it was about including her in the history of a show that’s going off. They included Tamar Braxton who has trashed the show and came at the host often. But I understand the point your make but it’s not directed in facts.
100% if you don't advocate for yourself, no one else will. It's not being rude or trashing or conceited, it's being honest about what you want for yourself and for others, so keep up the good work, Amanda! What I don't get is she mentioned that two of The Real hosts said that it was wrong she wasn't mentioned, but yet they obviously didn't mention her or push for it.
She rubs me the wrong way, when I saw her on insecure i didn't know she was black. Turns out her mom is Indian decent, so she is mixed. But acts like she experiences the disparities of a dark skinned black person 😒
I only listen when the guests are poppin!!!!! This was perfect timing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this and I didn’t even listen yet she jus said the world is trash! I’m home lmao
You see why I can’t just get all the way with Amanda Seales? She’s so negative man. Even while giving a compliment to Black men cheering her on at her shows she turns around & says how difficult it is to get Black men to laugh and the reason is because we’re “suppressing emotions”. Ma’am, please just stop. When has that ever been the case with Black men? We crack jokes on one another & shoot the shhh openly & frequently. Where did she get “Black men don’t laugh”?
Amanda’s experience is no different that any toxic work environment. Like she said, just because it’s TV/entertainment doesn’t make it any less difficult. Good for her for standing up for herself!
Bruh yall NEVER called this chic out for lying about Dr Myron Rolle, so this video getting a thumbs down, keep that same energy, she went out her way to shit on this black man for no reason with NO repercussions
I used to follow Amanda on IG and want her to succeed. I think she's bright, funny, and a great storyteller, but all of that gets overshadowed easily by the negativity. It's too bad. It can't be everyone else is the problem - sometimes, you gotta get introspective and better understand how people are receiving you.
@@thatraspyshxt I am not committed to dislike her. I actually complimented her and explicitly said I want her to succeed. We can all have opinions about her. It's okay.
I love how authentic Amanda is. I feel like I’m getting the truth, or her truth, every interview. I enjoyed her understated character on Insecure, and I liked her on the Real, though I knew it wouldn’t last long. Been to Smart Funny and Black twice in my city. 🙌🏾
I agree it was very rude for her to be left out of the farewell episode. However, I don't understand her bitterness about it. If you really feel like 1) the show as a whole was fake, 2) it wasn't good for your spirit and 3) you "weren't really getting money like that" then why even be bothered about being left out??? Unless they still owe you money, just go live your best life and let them kick rocks 🤷🏿
I agree. I really don't understand her complaints. I've had jobs where it was absolutely miserable and once I left them, they never once entered my mind. I didn't give a damn. LOL. So it is strange to me that Amanda, who has been so vocal about how much she hated the experience, would care about the show. She also alleged that The Real stole her ideas, so again, why would she care?
Bitter? Not all criticism is because someone is bitter. And if you listened to her i dont get why yall confused. Sound like yall be okay with being disrespected.
@@jacifrankie9893 You're right, Not ALL criticism is because someone is bitter. But THIS criticism sounds like it is. It didn't make sense to be so hurt when you were only there for a short time and didn't even like being there anyway. Was it petty of The Real to not mention her? Yes. But does it require a whole rant though? Nah.
Amanda really lacks a lot of self awareness. She attaches herself to so many valid issues, with extremely valid points. Yet somehow she never is able to recognize that she is the problem. Drama follows her EVERYWHERE she goes.
It’s always Something or Somebody else fault with this lady. From beef With Issa Rae, getting kicked out the Emmys party “The Real” etc…… Like take accountability for your actions lady!
Charlemagne congratulating his friend is pretty much what this episode about. It’s so disturbing and wrong how the breakfast club has no accountability whatsoever for their friends and close contacts. This woman proved time and time again that she is about herself and nothing else. Ps: Jussie Smollet BS was lowkey noble according to her, the mediocrity.
First of all, that is her fucking opinion. What does that have to do with her being on the breakfast club? 🤔 aren't we all about ourselves idiot? Like cmon
I remember when she said Jussie's actions were noble and no one checked her! Just because she has a Masters in African American Studies doesn't make all of her statements right. I still enjoy her comedy and her general perspective on things.
I'm a fan of Amanda as an actress and as a comedian. I'm disappointed that she pushes this 'strong black woman' agenda while also always pushing being a victim of everyone's attack. Sometimes you have to assume responsibility when every chance you get, someone else is the problem. I look forward to seeing more comedy from her and hopefully, if something doesn't go right, we don't get the 'it's them and not me' continued speech. I'm always pushing for better for all women, including her. I'm always wishing her the best.
I agree, she gives me Monique vibes. There is something that rubs me the wrong way about her. I do believe she has a place/purpose but I feel like she hasnt figured her niche out yet.
I don’t think she “pushes a strong Black woman agenda”. I think she is assertive and YOU hear “strong Black woman agenda” because you see a Black woman who is not meek. All she has advocated for is about Black people and it happens to include her experience as a Black woman. On a show like The Real, thas for and with women panels, a lot of the commentary is about… women. When her assertive and self-assured messages grate on people’s skin, they see that coming from a Black woman and conclude that “SBW” is her narrative. No. That is a projection. You can not care for her, but don’t conflate her agenda with your projection.
@@simonsez1787 10000% Agree! You said it perfectly; not to mention, this is what she is always telling those who insist on DM'ing her those type of comments.
Before Amanda was on the show, a lot of the topics were mediocre tbh. When she came, I noticed they started talking about THINGS THAT MATTER such as systemic racism, politics, education, and culture. Her presence was a breath of fresh air, and I hate that she wasn’t honored during the farewell episode.
The Oxford English Dictionary's does NOT include words like Systematic, Systemic, Institutional, Institutionalized or Power. How about reading up on the history of The Irish before blaming white people for all the troubles in the world?
