Amanda saying she’s “rotting, but far away” makes even more sense thinking abt how she must be Rebecca’s souls and Rebecca’s real body is decomposing. Omg I actually adore this game and the story

One of the interesting details is that after the tapes, they sometimes credited the recruiters/people who worked on the show. They credited storyboard-writers, script-writers, and many more. You can also spot them crediting Rebecca Colton as a voice actress for Amanda The Adventurer, but they never credited Wooly’s VA. It makes me think that they either wanted to cover up the identity of Wooly’s VA, or Wooly is just an entire different entity who’s trapped inside the tapes which is why he has no voice actor.

Did anyone else notice that in one of the tapes Wooly says: "I'm allergic to apples" And in the first tape they were making an app pie And Amanda says: "Come on Wooly, let's have some pie" even though he's allergic to apples So was Amanda trying to kill Wooly by making him eat an apple pie??

I find it hilarious that Cory and Jay both answered with “Cream” when asked what their favorite pie was💀

1:03:54 For those who care, they're actually making rebecca read the names of demon kings from the Ars Goetia. This probably ties directly into what Jay said about how the people who took over the show is part of a cult.

Your theory is the exact one I formulated in my head while I was watching both Cory's and your playthrough. Rebecca was roped into signing away her soul (albeit a child), and at first I believed the dad Sam was straight up cold-hearted, but seeing him try to stick up for Rebecca in one of the tapes and get her away from whatever voice recognition thing was happening made me change my mind. I believe Sam went in with the intention of providing joy to the world from his little girl who he derived a lot of his inspiration from based off of the hardships she faced from such a young age. Due to him having this idea and wanting it to succeed, being approached by a company was a step in what he believed was the right direction in order to become successful from Amanda the Adventurer. Ultimately, Hameln brought Rebecca in and had her sign a sheet that acted as her consent to any experiments they went through; the droplets of Celtic-themed writing and the idea of energy transfer makes me believe that Hameln is some sort of company with cultist-like ties that specialize in transferring the souls of people into any form they want. This isn't entirely explored in the game and I think it'd be interesting to see. Hameln acquired the rights to creating the animated version of ATA, and in order to provide the show with the essence of Rebecca, they captured her soul and trapped it in the production. Rebecca still being out there along with her altered figure seems as if Hameln has plagued her with some sort of disease - whether a literal disease or the invasiveness of one - that has caused her soul to be implanted into the tapes, and the farther she is from her true disposition, the more she rots away. The anger she has towards Wooly makes me believe that at times, Wooly represents someone who monitors an experiment and is caught in a crossfire. I feel like the hostility Amanda has towards Wooly is because he could be a figure similar to her father (personality wise), or represent some sort of break from the show and the reality of the situation. Amanda's anger feels like displacement when directed at Wooly, resentment penting up inside her for allowing his daughter to be trapped in an animated world, where her body is far away from her and unable to be connected with her conscious. The missing children are all seeming to be used in the success of this program, and the show lures children to what I believe is the place of operation for Hameln. Maybe Amanda (the physical form) acts as some sort of myth come true that Hameln uses as a weapon in conjuction with luring children with the show, where Amanda physically then harvests their souls for whatever purpose the company wants to fulfill.

To me, Sam and Rabecca somehow got trapped in the game. Sam went missing and was trapped as Wooly, while Rabecca's soul is kinda trapped as Amanda as well. We saw that Rabecca was in what looked like a psychiatric hospital, most likely because she isn't being herself. She's just an empty body now with no soul to actually help her be fully human. Sam is scared of her now as she is slowly losing her mind in this game, and her memories are becoming more and more altered or fuzzy. This is most likely because she is a child and so her brain is still developing. But since Sam is an adult, his brain cannot be so easily altered. He wants to help her, but he can only do so much...

The reason I find this game so unique, is that no matter what you do, there is an unexplained story, that possibly any theory could be right. Jays vision of Sam getting countered by a cult could be true, or, the producers did something to her and the dad Sam was hypnotized, there's so many possibilities.

1:03:50 When my sister and I were watching, we noticed something. In the last secret tape, when she says the words " Bye Yell" "Pie Man" "Baa Lamb", she was actually saying demon names. Belial, Paimon, Balam. Hamelin is making a little girl chant demons. And when she says that there is a man in a headphone, i think she was wearing one so she is basically hearing a demon in the headphones when other can't. Sam went missing when he noticed what Hamelin is doing. (Possibly murder and have his soul trap in the tape as the form of Wooly who seen as presence later tortured by a demonic form of his daughter for abandoning her). Rebecca disappears (possible murder since she keeps saying she doesn't want to go to the butcher shop, why things rot and why she feels rotting and how she is out there somewhere meaning her body) and her last appearance was in one of those secret tapes of the security cameras. She basically has become a demon in a form of Amanda that has been constantly battling the demon that taken her soul, having demonic tendencies and is now trapped in the tape by a secret satanic organization, disguising themselves as Hamelin. Thats why there is a detective sticker at the secret ending because the person who probably record the secret demon chanting tape is who you saw at the end. A detective who you "befriend" since you both now know the truth.

For example, someone taped a tree falling over, it's blocking your path, you rewind the tape to before it falls, and when you leave the camera screen, the tree is back upright. Really cool concept.

When Jay pointed out at 1:02:53 that Rebecca might be Amanda, I was saying the same exact thing, if you listen each time Amanda talks about family, she gets upset. Even when she was looking at the kitten, she put herself in that perspective when she got abandoned by Sam. in the Everything Rots video, Amanda says sometimes she feels herself rotting but its far away. that makes me think Rebecca died but her soul got tied to the animated character. i think she didn't completely get transferred as it seems Kate was trying to help her as Amanda refers to her as a friend and she asks for help a few times when she starts to lose control so there must be a way for it to be reversed that's possible by the average person. her line of "I'm out there. Somewhere." implies she knows she's not suppose to be there but doesn't know who she really is or where her body is. seeing how much this game as evolved and grew is amazing. very well done.

the secret tape is actually a episode of a series wooly was supposed to have. all it is is just wooly sitting there and doing nothing. he even hears a gunshot and does nothing. i think wooly is actually a representation of the directors. seeing how wooly tries to distract the viewer whenever amanda feels sad as if nothing was truly wrong. distractin them from the truth. which is probably why amanda wants to kill him so bad. that form she wrote, it was probably a way to keep rebecca quiet, so that they can use her and abuse her like the doll represents. the team definitely had something to do with their deaths

Another theory: a theory is that Amanda is an entity, and has harsh emotions. Wooly tries to keep Amanda happy to keep her emotions at bay, “ I feel myself rotting “ and how woolly was trying to keep her calm is proof of this theory.

I will say that you aren’t totally off with Amanda and Rebecca being the same person. You can tell from how she responds right at the end saying she’s out there, but also through the whole play through she says lines like “I don’t know..” or like she’s confused almost. Even when she was like so mad at the face that we couldn’t help her. Then when you put sams name in there she’s like “how do you know.” So it honestly can be Rebecca trapped and I do think wooly can be either Sam or someone else. So I agree with the theory

I think the person recording the tape with amanda, sam, the director, and the man in the headphones is Danny, the containment specialist. I think this because they seem to be guarding that door in the other tape with the contract. I think as punishment for recording that, they put Danny into the show as Wooly, because if you answer wrong about the birthday card, Wooly's name gets changed to 5 question marks, which also fits Danny's name. I guess it goes to show that you should never be a sheep to sus companies.
