remember when she straightened her naturally curly hair to look good on camera when she made a video talking bad about people with straight hair copying her naturally curly hair and getting dreads... i think the video was called dont cash crop my dreads... im sorry to hear this person still has a career... it got even worse when i found out she was goiong to be part of the new stars wars show the acolytes... after the trailer and finding out she is in it... its hard pass for me...
I had an unusual name and mostly it was miss pronounced or shortened. I did not correct people. Later in my job world I finally was able to be called correctly by my given name. It took that long. My father named me. So it was important to me. Here I have a user name I chose. But, my father's name for me is my name. It is who I am.
@@Marv.D.Artist Bro, she has a Jewish surname. Her father is a white Jew. She isn't African. She's pretending to be because that benefits her in Hollywood.
@@davidturfrijer701 She is clearly of African descent and her mother named her after a chant in protest to the south African apartheid. She isn't pretending to be anything she's just explaining the pronunciation of her name.
Well my name means who-is-like-god which is super important in my culture and religion but I don't make a fuss about pronouncing Michael like I was Moses writing the Torah.
I'm South African and this is something that means very much to us and seeing it westernized, especially when apartheid was an atrocity perpetrated by westerners, not even 3 decades ago, is not something that will sit well with South Africans
Look the only people that keep going on about a black people.,, she isn't depressed and none of us are being racist towards her. Not liking someone's acting isn't being racist. A song that she's just released is racist so you should fact check before making comments like that.
@@elixier33 I'm not sure who u meant to reply to but no1 on this thread is talking about racism. I'm talking about how westerners bastardize ppl's cultures and languages. That is absolutely not this poor girl's fault. I'm explaining why some people in my country, where her name was a cry of freedom from oppression just 3 decades ago, are taking it personally for something so sacred to be desecrated by what westerners have done to so many beautiful languages. The fact that u see that and think racism is a red flag. U shud see someone about that.
@@insomnia610 did you not read the title of the video? About racism? It's a red flag when someone doesn't know the title of the video they are replying on. I'm talking about the girl that did that dance the one that made the song who was racist towards white people. If it wasn't her fault then clearly she was forced to do the dance stick It All Over Twitter and Instagram.
Yebo Amandla Please grow a backbone and pronounce your name the right way. This is our time. You must stamp your Authority. Because you know the correct pronunciation. Amen Amandla
Your attitude stinks so bad I can smell you from afar, far away. Why not grow up,put you big girl dress on and re-unite any fractures between cultures, races and/or countries. Instead of just being apart of the hardcore leftists or rightist or what ever. Love you
Y'all south Africans better shut your pitiful excuse you can't just because your zulu pronouncements of that name is differently pronounced in the USA doesn't mean it's incorrect you can't say a swedish person must pronounce it correctly just because it's pronounced differently in sweden so shut up if yall cant accept the fact
Lol Amanda Amandla the former means Power and the the lesser means of her a mother's strength without knowing but prevails and so amanda a mother's strength versus amandla a man's power in knowledge 😂🎉❤ no confusion just basic strength of men is always expected to be the same and a woman's strength can sometimes be unpredicted 😂🎉❤
