As a person who listens to many music genres in general, I absolutely love Amaranthe's mixed style! I feel sorry for narrow-minded people who cannot enjoy more than one music genre. It's their loss.
That implies the same to Pop fans because they are the least open minded people,Rap fans are the second least open minded people, plus both musicians of those two genres definitely have it easier in life to be known more likely because of the mainstream music industries help, and they also help them get known more on websites such as RU-vid in ads,and in their own channels, and i'm not stating an opinion,i'm stating an obvious fact, bands like Whitechapel who are not part of the mainstream music industries have been a band since 2006,and they only have gained 1 million of fans on Facebook without any of the music industries help, they had it way harder than any of those musicians have, they are only part of unknown labels they are signed to,the record label only helps them with the money they deserved which is a decent amount, and they also plan out their tours which is a month of touring without much rest, some tours only last a week,or less, and they also get some rest now,and then mostly because of the cancelled tours but overall most of the tours are a month of touring at concerts, and i'm fine with the bands mixes to be honest with you, however i don't see them as Pop Metal..i basically see,and hear them as a mixture of Industrial Metal,Power Metal,Electronicore/Electronic Metal,Symphonic Metal,Melodic Metalcore(Old Metalcore elements,Old Metalcore did not involve much Electronica elements, and did not spam much breakdowns, and wasn't as generic either,it use to be pretty Melodic as well then Modern Metalcore bands was influenced by Old Metalcore bands then the Modern Metalcore bands changed the elemental styles here, and there, making it involve lesser Melodic elements, and with so much spam of breakdowns,Old Metalcore also involved some solos, and shreds here, and there but Modern Metalcore which is now known as just Metalcore involves no solos,or shreds,Modern Metalcore bands involve some Electronica elements in each different songs but not all,Old Metalcore is now known as Melodic Metalcore, and Modern Melodic Metalcore involves spam of Melodic breakdowns instead of normal breakdowns, and also involves Electronica, and synthesised breakdowns along with Melodic breakdowns, they do some shreds, and solos now,and then, and are not that generic compared to Modern Metalcore, the differences between the vocals of Old Metalcore/Melodic Metalcore to Modern Metalcore, and Modern Melodic Metalcore is that the screaming vocals in Modern Metalcore, and Modern Melodic Metalcore are more focused, forced, and sound somewhat Death Metal, and Black Metal influenced as well, well some do,not all of them,i consider old bands like Trivium, and Kill Switch Engage to be Old Metalcore/Melodic Metalcore,Avenged Sevenfold use to be Old Metalcore/Melodic Metalcore in their oldest albums then changed into Heavy Metal,Hard Rock, and Progressive Metal just without the screaming vocals, bands like Feed Her To The Sharks are Modern Melodic Metalcore, and Bury Tomorrow are a mixture of Old Metalcore/Melodic Metalcore with Modern Melodic Metalcore, they also involve Death Metal like screaming vocals instead Hardcore/Hardcore Punk screaming vocals with singing vocals),bands change genre styles now,and then in each albums,or just chose a certain few as a fusion which basically makes them a Fusion type of band at a certain point
@@residentevildeadspace5729 Well aren't you a treat. If you're gonna call me an idiot, you should probably have a clue what you are talking about. Amaranthe still retains its essence and only those who follow them out of fashion say that they miss the old amaranthe. Many songs from his first album sound like boomerang 😎 Listen to all discs from the band please.

Being an Aboriginal man and a fan of Amaranthe, I gotta say I'm a fan of this. Being a music student helps too. The blending of genres and styles are amazing, the pronounceation of "boomerang" isn't bad either, close but still off. Again, amazing song and band and as an Aboriginal man, love the concept of bands using a boomerang as the focal point
@@inma5665 what isn't unique in it? It combines multiple different genres, has a creative videoclip, 3 different singers. The only thing which isn't fully their work is that the chorus resembles the song you mentioned, but that's all
@@obviousoptimus4440 well, it has the structure of a typical pop song, the chorus resembles a very generic pop song, it is practically a pop song with heavy guitars, not multiple genres, not that it is something bad, i like a few pop artists, i'm not an elitist, but i'm sorry, it isn't come around like something precisely unique to me, a lot of metal bands have been approaching this pop sound in recent years, it's just that Amaranthe is maybe the most unapologetic band in that regard, that's all.

Great song! Your videos always leave me with so many questions though; You can get arrested for breaking a cup? What was the bomb for? The grand plan was to be locked up? Did you just pick a lock with a playing card? They lock you up and leave? You had a key the whole time? Love it anyway guys.
I think the overall theme was about them coming back to the bank (like a boomerang) after many fails. The cup was for distraction since they nodded each other that the way is clear. Bomb is for the safes because afaik it won't destroy them just open few of em. Them being locked up looked like it symbolized them being done with it but then hope arised. Card is probably a multitool. Notice that they are sitting on some stairs, it ain't even probably a cell. They went all together and got the key because friendship.
Dare to be different, not every band should stay as they started, variety is fine. I still enjoy every song they making so keep up the great work! I wish I can see them live soon.
even if they sounds different in this new album.. I think this song still awesome!!! i just love metal.. i don't care if they mix pop or other kind of music.. i love metal music and i love when bands mix their music with other genre!!

Well that's awkward. Hearing Jake but not seeing him in the video, while the other members try to look like it's okay and lipsync his lines a bit... well... I hope they parted ways in a friendly manner. Looking forward to the new vocalist, I believe he'll be great as well!
I'm so glad I was able to see these guys this past Sunday in San Antonio. I am honored to be able to say they were my first live experience. A huge thanks to the whole band for such a great performance and a special thanks to Elize for the high five. Until I can see them again I've got videos like this to enjoy.
They must have tons of fun on recording those videos. They start serious but them goes funny because they are not really actors. I love that the band is always trying very diferent kind of videos. Fun to watch.

Absolutely amazing vid and song. Elize has an amazingly beautiful voice. I have always considered Elize to be very hot, but she is super extra sexy in this vid. The new album is amazing. Great job every body
Ashley Reinhardt yeah. The first one was very different and interesting. Now it just sounds too try hard. I haven't listened to a whole song yet. it doesn't catch my attention from this album.
Otherwise complaints were about how same their style is... what do you want people? Honestly, the first and the second one are 90% the exact same with different lyrics. We even had a Hunger Part 2 called Nexus... Which I liked and bought but what's so special about them? They are streamlined. Then Massive Addictive hit hard. As hard as fast its magic was gone. I listen to 3 songs out of 12 by now. Maximalism is more diverse and catchy. Seriously, like it was a sin to sound poppy... who wants "just another metal band" sound? Who wants another band that sells the same stuff over and over again for decades? There are enough of them. They don't want to be else... all they want is to entertain, not to fuck up minds with mindblowing themes, not to be streamlined scheme-rock, they want diversity without borders, living outside of genres.
buek14 · you heard about Led Zeppelin, Rush, AC-DC, Pink floyd ? Real bands do same stuff over for decades . this is called identity ( you dunno know what it means)
Compared to old.. i like this as much as i did those before. no complaints from me. Sounds better in a car than the older songs with this having more bass.
This video is pretty cool, kinda corny and fun. One of the coolest songs on the album. Definitely has Amaranthe style all over it. Elize is gorgeous as always, band cool as always. They probably should have released this video and song first, I think people wouldn't have been so worried about the album. That Song would have made a much better second single. Whatever though, I still bought the album day one because the rest of their albums have been awesome, MAXIMALISM did not disappoint. On a side note, this kinda speaks volumes that Jake didn't even appear in a music vid with Amaranthe. While I don't know what is going on with the inside dynamic, I know he said he was on a break, mostly I assumed from touring. I figured he would at least have showed up to shoot the videos. I will say Jake seemed decidedly in the background on Maximalism, almost like he just wasn't feeling it anymore. While I would hate for Jake not to come back, as long as the core of the band remains, I'll continue to support Amaranthe. Of course if he does depart, I wish him luck on anything he does, I know he's working on some solo stuff right now. Update Few minutes after originally posting : I went back to facebook right after this post and Jake officially announced his departure. Sucks, but had a strong feeling that would happen. Honestly I know they will probably replace him, for shows of old material, but I'd be happy with just Elize and Henrik holding down vocals for the future.
I never heard about them until a week ago. I think they are amazing, but with some of their songs I get the feeling I have heard it before, like when I was a teenager or in my twenties...Way, way before even one of them was born... ;-) Love it anyway!
great video, beautifull visuals. The Jake parts feel a bit akward as nobody is there to "sing" them , but well whats done is done. Ill miss him dearly but im exited to see whats next for Amaranthe.
I think it´s just question of a time when others will leave the band for the same reason like Jake E did and Elize will become a solo star with poppy songs and choreographical videos with half-naked hot dancers :(
iammartyna Her attempt to participate in Eurovision without the rest of the band and with a song that wasn't even close to metal... that might have been a warning sign 😉. Amaranthe as it was in Nexus times would have been mainstream enough for Eurovision if you ask me, there was no need to water things down and go even more poppy. I honestly wondered whether turning this band into a pop act was what she was going for all along. It is not like it could not have been predicted. I just thought that over the course of several years touring with all kinds of metal bands, one would start to like it for what it is instead of trying to mold and shape it until nothing is left. Amaranthe will lose what once made them unique by reducing the metal part more and more and getting closer to pure pop step by step. Trying to fish in the same pond as Rihanna, Beyoncé or Celine Dion will actually make Elize stand out less, she will be just one of many pop divas with nothing but a great voice - whereas in their respective niche in metal, Amaranthe as they once were had a real monopoly. I'm not sure whether she will come to realise this. "You don't know what you got until you lose it", as Bryan Adams said.
Jake and Elize never liked each other. It was the core reason why he left. His statement sounds bullshit though. Why participate in something he didn't like being part of? And why leaving during a tour and forming a band under the carpet even before qutting Amaranthe? Maximalism was the most versatile out of the 4 albums. Some songs were dominated by either Jake's, Henrik's, or Elize's voice. He could feel unnecessary for whatever reason, but it's not true his role wasn't as important as the rest of the band. Now that he's gone it's Olof and Elize *together* who are the main songwriters and Jake didn't like he lost his control over the guys when they all started doing stuff. He's more likely a solo worker like Ritchie Blackmore, Mike Portnoy, Tuomas Holopainen and these kind of people. There's nothing wrong with that but I still disagree with his reasoning. neither I see much doubts about Amaranthe. Looking at Cyhra - I mean, the bass player already left and they started a tour which they kind of, finished at its peak... well, Jake wanted to repeat selling the same stuff over and over again, now he's got it in his own band which I give a 5 years at best.
@@buek14 I always got the feeling they didn't like each other, when they did interviews together it was very awkward and they didn't agree with each other. but still i thought i was wrong about it.
The pitfall of pop music is that it's short lived by definition. Instead of accepting some of the rawness and "ugliness" that is part of so many metal genres, Amaranthe polish everything to perfection, from vocals to rhythmic timing to video production to visual aesthetics - and that artificial perfection leaves no leeway for flaws once they're starting to sneak in. This band's market value will inevitably plummet with every year Elize gets older. It's just how it is. Musicians lose popularity as the things that made them successful start to disappear, and her looks are undoubtedly part of that. She will still be a great singer, but the music the band makes is targeting an ever-younger audience. And in chart pop music, one hottie is constantly being replaced by the next younger one, often someone with even less vocal talent. And there are always those in the older generation who still don't want to realise their clock is ticking fast (Jennifer Lopez *cough* Madonna *cough* Britney Spears...). All members of Amaranthe, in contrast, absolutely do have the talent to do something outstanding, something that will stand the test of time, like so many metal bands out there that couldn't market off their singers' evanescent looks (pun intended ;P) and had to come up with something more creative to be unique. Amaranthe could totally do that, too, yet it seems as if they are deliberately making their music cheap.
I don't understand why some people are being so surprised by the music. Amaranthe has always been a pop/metal band in my opinion. This song doesn't sound any more "pop" then songs such as Electroheart or Invincible.

Pop singing doesn't differ from metal singing otherwise except it aims to sound beautiful, and metal sometimes does not. You would not use vocals like screaming and growling typically in pop. But metal isn't all about screaming and growling.
