If you like R&B you will prefer ALL MY FAULT, a little more soulful vintage jazzy sound you will prefer the retro sound from the brilliant NOW IM THE FOOL. I have a soft spot for GOOD IN GOODBYES, and DIAMOND with its one line of lyric rap. Her use of lyrics are advanced for her age making these not only a great bop but meaningful and emotional. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs.

From the very first words, the warmth, tone, passion and sweetness that Angelina manages to instill in this mythical song are truly incredible, you just wish the song was much longer. Her phrasing, backed by her wonderful use of breath and her peculiar jazz tone, always fascinates me and gives me chills every time, I love this absolutely amazing, so personal rewrite of this iconic song, with so many Elvis tribute details. Now it's a different song, but it's also the same, it still has that harmony, but somehow (in a way only Angelina can process) it's even more emotional, it's slower, but it's so close to your soul flow that kidnaps you. 💛🧡❤

It's somewhat unfortunate that you were not familiar with the "original" by Elvis (it is not Elvis' original), because then you would have realized just HOW drastically she changed it. I guess, or at least I hope, that you have listened to Elvis' version after you did this reaction, so that you know what I mean right now 🙂 Regardless, I really appreciate you for keeping reacting to her. Rob Christie is Playing Piano, and he is AJ's A&R person with Republic Records/Universal Music Group. That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision. In order to realize how good this is, you really need to listen to Elvis' classic cover of this song. It was his last #1 hit, but somehow he changed this emotional song into an up-beat rock-n-roll song with no emotion. He gave it the "Vegas" treatment. It took Angelina's genius arrangement to interpret the true meaning & emotional content of this beautiful song. Nice reaction Jenn.
You must go and hear the Elvis original to appreciate how much Angelina transformed this and created a new and very different experience. In general, you should always become familiar with the original (especially iconic ones like this) before reacting to a cover.

The baby and very little girl are Angelina's cousins - the preteen girl is Angelina's sister Juliette and the Piano Player is Rob Christie Director of the Republic Records Los Angeles Studio which is the record label that Angelina has been signed with since she was 14 years old.
AJ plays the Keyboard/piano, flute, violin, and the guitar. Let's not forget about the most important instrument she has, her hypnotic voice that has a hold on all of us.
👣Angelina released this wonderfull video just days before she was going live in Norway last summer (2022) for the very first time since 2019, as the pandemic stoped her from live conserts for 3 years. Quite some teaser for us all on what to expect from her summer conserts. She did not disappoint us at all. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.
Elvis version is also a beautiful Cover of the Original from Mark James. Angelina created her own amazing version with a great message for the whole world..we cannot live together with suspicious minds, spread better Love, the destiny of our Angel 😍😇
Nice reaction This song was a huge hit for Elvis and his last number one. You should listen to Elvis’ version to really appreciate Angelina’s interpretation and how it is very different than the uptempo Elvis version. Many feel that Angelina’s take on the song allows them to really feel the meaning. Angelina plays guitar and pisno. Thiis is the first time she has played an instrument in a music video however their are many Instagram and TikTok videos where she accompanies herself with piano or guitar The first two girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins. Angelina is paying tribute to Elvis in many ways here.....I love her version more than Elvis', but her hairstyle is reminiscent of Priscilla's hairstyle, the black leather outfit.....which he wears in his television comeback show, where he plays a red Hagstrom guitar, like the one she is playing.......perhaps even all the fancy furniture and lights could be something like the furniture in Graceland.....
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
