@@brucelin5842 as a Balance owner, i can fairly say it's quite better than Watch 6C on some points 1: Better battery life cuz ZeppOS definitely lighter than WearOS 2: Can connect with iOS devices, which was permitted by Google on Watch 6 3: The training course in Zepp Coach only lost to Garmin Coach, far better than AI Training on Samsung Health 4: About exterior, the lug in Watch 6 quite bulky, not hugging your wrist like Balance do. But above are all i need for a smartwatch. If you seeking a watch to tracking Blood Pressure, Samsung Pay or sth classy and benzel flashy, you can go with Watch 6. Beside that, i think Balance is better choice
Imo, I think it would be more fair to weight each item by scale or percentage which most consumers want to have on their watches. Battery life should weigh a lot more than other bells and whistles which some of them can only be considered as nice to have.
Great point! And battery life is at the top for me also. but you want me to come up with several categories and assign them each a relative percentage based on their perceived importance to my viewers. You realize I will have to quit my job, right? But if you subscribe, like and share, Ill do it!! 🙃
This is the exact sort of video I was looking for when I was trying to make a decision 3 months ago! 😄 Went with the Balance in the end because of battery life and cost. I'm sure the Samsung would be a slightly more refined software experience overall, but the amazfit is pretty solid. Saying that, my PAI score doesn't update on the app for some reason! I would also like a bit more customisation of colours on the watch faces as there's some good ones, but they're bright green for example. I've set up Zepp Pay with a Curve account (UK) and that works really well, but is a bit of a faff to do. Overall, very happy with it, but if Wear OS watches ever sort out their battery life, I'll probably give it a go. Cheers!
I love Samsung watches but the battery life is disappointing on all of them except the watch 5 pro, but even that is only 3 to maybe 4 days. Amazfit delivers a lot of features with a great battery life for a reasonable price. The Balance goes even a step further. I definitely have a favorite. For more watch faces check out the app AmazFaces but it is unofficial...
@@techgadgets100 I tried the Amazfaces app but couldn't figure out how to actually get the faces on to the watch without having to download another app and give it all sorts of permissions that I wasn't happy with. I'll wait for the Amazfaces app to be updated I think.
Have you tried it recently? It used to need a lot of work arounds but now I think it is really easy and reliable. I set it up years ago, so I probably allowed all the permissions back then 😟
Just bought used amazfit balance for $100. Very good watch, use it every day. Had an apple watch before and I love this one better and the price is just unbeatable.
Great deal! I think products that are cheaper than competition can have a few missing features overlooked. But the Balance checks off most boxes. Thanks for watching!
There have been updates on the Amazfit Balance since then. Now you get to see the pictures on WhatsApp and other messaging apps, you can also reply what you want and use the new AI voice assistant to reply to your messages. The Galaxy watch is still the better watch but not by much.
Yes, I wish I could make addendums to the videos when there are important updates. Agree with you that voice asst is a great addition but still needs a little work. I also feel the Balance completes well with Samsung but for cheaper.
I would think not being able to text whatever you want or speech to text on the amazfit would be a deal breaker for most. Of course the battery life is a huge huge deal. If the amazfit would have better text capability it would be an absolute no brainer.
To be fair, I just use my watch to check messages at a glance and see if they need replying to. If yes, I'd grab my phone anyway to reply instead of fiddling with a tiny watch keyboard. Ideally though, you'd be able to dictate replies via the built in assistant app. Haven't tried doing this via Alexa on the Balance, but my guess is that isn't possible, yet...
It's really interesting there's a 7 degree difference between the temperatures that the watches are showing for the current day. Towards the end the differences actually 8 degrees. That's somewhat of a big enough discrepancy. 🤔
If you I knew viewers were paying such close attention to the details in my videos I would have put more effort in!! In the beginning, there is a discrepancy, likely because I was not using Balance and it did not sync yet? By the end of the video the difference was 68 vs 66. Crazy weather changes that day?
I had samsung watch before but I never buy them again, amazfit balance is the best for me I have 10 days battery easily and also very accurate for fitness things not like samsung,
it will autodetect what exercises it things you are doing, there are 25 different types available for that. If those are not accurate you can edit it on the Zepp app, I think there are about100 exercises available there. I have found that it keeps good count of reps and sets but sometimes incorrected identifies what exercise you were doing. So you should not need to add any but will probably need to edit a few.
@@techgadgets100 ok compare to garmin’s strength training profile which one detects better? Coz I’m thinking if I should upgrade to amazefit balance or Garmin 165? I was previously using Garmin venu sq music…any advice ?
I have galaxy watch 6 and setting up the up as a pain. 4 weeks later, the app wont open. Just keeps circling. Im kind of ready to try something new besides the usual Samsung device I usually go with anyway. I wonder how social media notifications do on the Amazfit device... 🤔
If you are coming from a Samsung watch you might be a little disappointed with the Amazfit Balance notifications. On the Balance you will not get images and many emojis will be missing. Also you can only reply to your notifications with the quick preset texts that you previously created. There is no keyboard or speech to text function on the Balance. The Balance is a great watch but this is a weak area for it.
You can download music to watches and listen through watch speaker. Or paid buds with the watch. You can also control music coming from your phone and buds can be paired to phone. So phone needs to be close for this but you don't need to interact with phone screen at all.
No I mean I have Spotify as my main source of music, but amazefit balance don’t allow you to download Spotify, it only stores mp3 file, so my question is , how you suppose to convert those Spotify musics to mp3 file?? Or is there a way to download mp3 onto your android phone ?@@techgadgets100
Ouch, that's a little harsh. I have had probably 8 samsung watches, of course I found the health app....and I did mention in the video that you need 3 apps to use all the features of the Samsung watch, which I see as a negative.
@@techgadgets100 rightly so. The TW also has a collection of apps it needs, but they all run on the watch, rather than your phone. Their phone app just collects all the data from the individual apps running on the watch in one place. Not ideal, but still prefer it to Samsung's approach.
If I wasn’t so understanding, I would say you are using the Amazfit balance as a marketing tool for the Samsung watch. There isn’t any comparison really, Amazfit balance trumps the Samsung watch 6 all day.
That is an interesting take on it. I promise, I have not received any free products from Amazfit or Samsung (they usually don't even respond to my emails) and my views are 100% honest and my own. Just trying to highlight the differences between the 2 watches so my viewers can make informed decision. Thanks for watching!
Only advantage for the Galaxy Watch 6 is the ability to show Google Maps and Google Pay, all other functions seem to be more accurate on the Amazfit Balance (got both watches in house here) Biggest downside by the Amazfit is the "tempered glass" display... I don't know what sort of "tempered glass" Amazfit has used for their watch, but it's extremely prone to getting scratched, so people definitely need to apply a screen protector or full-covering watch casing to the watch before beginning to use it on a daily basis.
Also been my experience with Amazfit watches, they scratch very easily, as nice as they are. Also why I've stopped wearing them while working. A screen protector is pretty much a must. Haven't had that issue with the Ticwatch Pro 5, that thing is built like an Abrahams tank. The Amazfit screens behave more like some form of hardened plastic, rather than tempered glass.
Agreed. I cracked my Amazfit GTR 4, I dont even think I hit anything... I always recommend screen protectors in my Amazfit videos. TicWatch great hardware but poor software support, hopefully that changes.
@@techgadgets100the out-of-box software on the TW5 is pretty much flawless, minus Google assistant and they didn't break it with the update they did in November, just needs more frequent/consistent security patches and hopefully at some point WearOS 4 for more watch face options. Their phone app is also mediocre, but functional without paywalls.
One important aspect when buying a watch for sport tracking is their accuracy. And for that you would need to use an independent measuring standard such as a chest-strap. The fact that they both more or less agreed between them doesn't qualify their sensors as being accurate. As an ex-owner of an Amazfit I keep serious reservations as to the accuracy of their sensors, especially in cycling. However, it was a fair comparison and if I had tto choose between the two I would rather not have a smartwatch at all.
There have been a few 'scientific' tests of Amazfit's new sensors and the conclusion has been they are pretty darn good. Only thing that still needs work is their algorithms as they don't seem to be putting the raw data to the best of use to present results and recommendations yet. Also, Amazfit allows you to link a chest strap to the watch/their app if you want to, something that isn't a given with other manufacturers. A smartwatch isn't a replacement for more accurate fitness measurement tools, but for 99.9% of the population that isn't a professional athlete, they're generally more than adequate.
The scientific tests you are referring to, have only shown that their sensors have indeed improved but far from being "damn good", especially in outdoor cycling. In fact, the actual performance may even be worse than the results obtained when cycling is on a more challenging landscape with hills. The problem with Amazfit's sensors is that they cannot keep up with sudden and rapid spikes of the actual HR and they bottom out. Also, some of their metrics are still well off when compared to other watches of renowned brands. I was an owner of one and I know damn well the flaws with their sensors.
I agree that both of those watches are more fashion watches than sport, even though I was never fond of the GAlaxy. Garmin's GPS tracking may be one of the best but their HR accuracy is merely above average but never great. Besides, they are too bulky and generic looking for my taste. Huawei is going to be my next watch before next April. Their accuracy is next to Apple watches and they offer great features and metrics that no-one speaks about.
Samsung S24+ ile uyumlu olması açısından Galaxy Watch 6 classic 47 mm tercih ettim. 3 yıldan uzun süredir Honor Gs pro kullanmaktayım ve hala taş gibi. Watch 6 classic'i gerektiğinde takıyorum.
That is my big negative of most Amazfit products, their screens are only tempered glass. Fairly easy to scratch and crack. I recommend screen protectors for all of them. Sorry to hear that your watch got scratched.
Both have a 1.5 inch screen, so basically largest screen you can get now, might be big on tiny wrist. The Balance only comes in one size. A smaller Amazfit would be the Active but you loose a few features but get a lower price. Samsung now has the Watch 7 out but the Watch 6 and 7 come in a smaller 40mm size. Here is my Amazfit Active full review. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sWGZHryqwmk.html
I've had several generations of the galaxy watch and now I'm the enthusiastic owner of the amazfit balance. What I expect from a watch, besides the accuracy of the sensors, is the ability to pay, control smart home, design (light weight) and battery life. And the amazfit balance fulfills all of these. It will last over 10 days on a charge, so I don't have to worry about needing a charger when I go somewhere for a weekend or vacation. The only thing I miss is offline maps, but they should be available in the new 3.5 update
Great comment! Per Amazfit, Zepp 3.5 should be released shortly which will add offline maps and access to global ski maps, and a few other things . How are you controlling smart home devices with the Balance?
That just shows that I actually wear the watch. Seriously, thanks for pointing that out. I will hopefully remember to remove it in future videos- but if I scratch it- that will be on you! Who knows, maybe Amazfit will make a more durable display and I won't need a screen protector in the future.
Never wanted a smart watch. Getting one for free with my phone. But they're giving the regular galaxy 6 watch and not the classic.. which kinda makes me wish they just gave me the latest samsung buds instead.
I have never thought about that, but I would assume not. Amazfit probably does not have the capacity to service these and I don't think Amazfit has any relationship with local vendors who would be supplied with parts and knowledge of how to replace it. So if you buy- accept that you will probably only get that one battery. But keep in mind, you could only need to charge the Balance maybe every 10 days or so- this will greatly reduce the amount of charge cycles over the Samsung Watch 6- which would extend its useful life. Also if the Balance battery degrades to 80%, then you get maybe 8 days- still pretty good. I don't mean to be an Amazfit cheerleader but battery life is their strong suit. Replaceability, not so much though.
I am in US, so I do not have access to the Zepp payment system. But per Amazfit: Zepp Pay will be supported by Curve and participating issuer banks in 31 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Also per Amazfit Thanks to a partnership between Amazfit and Mastercard, along with the integration of NFC technology, Zepp Pay allows you to bind up to eight bank cards at a time to your Amazfit smartwatch 1 , for password-protected contactless payment directly from your wrist. There are no extra charges to use Zepp pay. I believe Curve is a payment app and credit card that is supported by Zepp pay and is used in Europe. I have only very basic information on this and would appreciate someone who uses Curve to add to this comment.
Do you find that the crown on the Balance gets in the way of anything whether it's your hand or clothing etc? Seems on the bigger side. I'm thinking of getting the Balance.
I had that issue with the ticwatch because the crown came out of the center, but no issues with the balance. Of course if you did have an issue, you could just slide it up the wrist a little and that should fix the problem. The balance has a great 1.5 inch screen that you will appreciate but it didn't feel big (to me) because it is light and thinner than other watches.
Great review, now I'm in a huge dilemma, Amazfit Balance Vs NEW Trex3 for runners and hikers, and yet that I can bring it into a daily time to officce and to the city, etc. Is there anything significant in the specifications that the Amazfit Balance has a and Trex3 does not or vice versa?
I should be posting ahout the trex 3 soon! But to help you decide. The software seems very similar but better off-line maps on the trex 3. Trex is also much more durable and double the balance's battery life- 27 days! The balance is cheaper and has the rotating crown which I love. Also no speaker on trex so no phone calls. I am probably forgetting a few things but those are the big differences I think. Hope that helps.
I have the amazfit GTS 4, and one thing that I dislike A LOT about the Zepp app is the horrible looking watch faces! 65% of them need to be purchased and don't get a free 10-minute trial if you like it or not. Yes, the amazfit watches can be boring. I don't mind charging my phone every day. Samsung watches keep their resale value really high, especially if you trade them in online.
There is also an app you can try, amazfaces. They will have a lot more watch face options. All the ones I use worked great. I agree, a trial period would be great, I would push for 1 week.
I've had 4 Amazfit watches, I'm currently wearing the GTR 3 Pro... and I've now on my second replacement of this model, as screen gets so scuffed up, the touchscreen no longer works.. I didn't have this with my other Amazfits.. But I'm at the point of calling it a day with them, and jumping to the Watch 6... the only thing stopping me is the battery life.
I saw this about all the Amazfit watches I review, the screen cover is a weak point, almost all of them are made of tempered glass, that I have cracked. I love the Balance but have a screen protector on it. Watch 6 is sapphire crystal, much more durable, I feel very comfortable wearing these with no screen protector, never an issue.
I love Amazfit because of the design and quality of use, and it's also fashionable, but Samsung is just 1 type design, was using gtr3 pro and it's great experience for me , I wish I can I get a keyboard on my my Amazfit balance
Yesterday I went to buy the balance but the screen is really vulnerable and I don't like to add a screen protector. Watch6 is better looking and I almost bought it. But since I don't have a Samsung phone and it's charging every night thing is really stupid, I ended up not buying a smart watch 😅
You might want to consider the Ticwatch Pro 5 if you want WearOS with decent battery life. I usually squeeze 3 days out of mine, that's with most fuctions turned on and a lot of activity tracking. It's also built like a brick wall, haven't managed to scratch it yet, while I've been wearing it doing manual labour and not doing it any favours. Have had a few small software bugs, but they mostly fixed themselves after giving it some time to think things over, otherwise a quick reset will do it (i.e. step counter or HR monitor freezing). Another option might be the Xiaomi watch 2 Pro (or soon to release non-pro). They should also get close to 2 days of use before needing charging. They have been reported as having quite a few software bugs, though and Xiaomi has not committed to any updates on them. The LTE version also only works with a couple of carriers in the UK, might be the same in other countries.
When I reviewed the results, I said that I prefer and think Amazfit Balance is better watch for most people. I have not gotten any free equipment from Samsung yet!
I'm currently waiting for my Balance to arrive. I went with Amazfit because I don't have a Samsung phone and don't want to miss out on features because of that. The price was a factor too.
I think you'll love it! If you need it here is my customization video- all the tips and features you need. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R0iTGSVOL0A.html I am not above shameless promotions 😀
I know. In the conclusion of the video, I mention that I decided against a "value" category, but you are right. Amazfit Balance at half the price of the Samsung wins the value category every time! Thanks for watching.
Which speaker has the best and loudest sound between 2 hours? The environment I work in is a bit noisy, so this is an important issue in voice conversations.
hmmm, I did not think to directly compare speaker loudness... I dont have any formal testing equipment for this- just my ears. But I listened to a few songs and boy they are close. Maybe the Samsung was a little louder but again very close. While testing I did notice that it is VERY easy to block the speaker, and you can block 90- 95% of the noise doing this- on both. So keep that in mind. speakers are on left side- so maybe more of an issue if you wear on right wrist?
Following the latest update for Balance, you can reply to messages with your voice and send them as text. In addition, images are now displayed in messages.
Zepp flow has added a lot and it works OK, for responses, but still a little slow. But it at least you are not stuck with only the premade messages which is great!
@@chopmail2862 Great question- but Im not sure. from what I found- during exercise or when set to continuous monitoring probably every 5-15 seconds. but it also might not get a reading with each attempt.
@@techgadgets100 Correct. Right now Zepp, Amazfit, Has three different categories. The T-Rex Ultra is the ultimate outdoor extreme watch. The Balance is the most "everyday" user watch, and the Falcon comes in in the middle with nice looks yet the ruggedness you are looking for. They really have a big showcase of watches and something for everyone and all them have great battery life and tons of features. I am totally sold on my Balance.
Great eyes! Sorry to disappoint but that is not Google wallet on the Amazfit Balance. In the Zepp app that is called "AmazWallet" and it only holds your loyalty cards (13 of them), no payments. sorry. There is a Zepp pay app but it is not available in many countries. You can go to the Amazfit website to see if it is available where you live.
@@techgadgets100 Thank you! I am choosing between Samsung Watch 6 40mm for 223€ and Amazfit Balance. I have a visa card so i will need to use curve but curve is 18+ and i am 17,so i need to wait a year to pay.
It is a D buckle design which perfectly copies Samsung's D buckle band but much cheaper. You can get more info and a link to buy it in this video- if you are interested. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q03G1oyX4m8.html
Excellent and comprehensive review! I chose the Balance based on value (price) and battery life. Samsung is a terrific choice as well, but I'm not a Galaxy phone user, so don't get the full menu of features.
I have the Samsung Watch 5 Pro lte and hardly wear it since getting the Amazfit Balance for Christmas. It's all depends on what you need from the watch. I use it for training. Therefore, the Amazfit Balance is more suited for my use case.
Same thing for me. I have the watch 5 pro and watch 6 classic but the balance is my go to. The Balance does everything I need and no battery anxiety at all!
@techgadgets100 I love the training readiness on the watch, but I would love Amazfit to add a body battery metric, which increases with naps and decreases with exertion in real time. Either way, the watch is still very, very good for the price.
Hi, great detailed vid. I am in the market for my first smart watch so I have a few questions about the Amazfit Balance.. Does it have a 4G/LTE SIM card ? If not, how does it receive calls ? Can you load Whatsapp on the phone or do you have to use basic SMS for texting ? Are there any payment apps ? Have you tested it under water ? You mention that the Balance is very light. Isn't this a huge advantage if you are wearing it while jogging, cycling etc. or even wearing it in bed to take sleep measurements ? I am basically looking for a watch that will allow me at times to leave my phone at home but yet still have access to my most commonly used apps on the watch.
After I sent that reply, I realized I needed to add to it, since this is your first smart watch. All smart watches connect to your phone through Bluetooth. LTE versions add the ability to make phone calls, get texts, and use Internet through the watch without your phone nearby. But you need to pay your cellphone provider an extra fee for a watch plan. Using LTE will also consume more battery. Hope that helps!
@@techgadgets100hi. I'm looking for a smartwatch with long battery and I was looking for the Balance. I've never had any smartwatch before. My main question is: these smartwatches have Bluetooth, does it mean they can work also on wifi? (for example to receive WhatsApp messages). I usually don't use Bluetooth indoor and I don't like the idea of buying a smartwatch that can become useless at home because of Bluetooth distance from my smartphone or Bluetooth beeing inactive...
