Perfectly timed video, Lim. I just ordered the Amazfit GTS 1 now during the Amazon sale, I couldn't wait any longer since the international version is still not released.
Had the GTS 2 and it was absolutely awful. Battery life was barely 24 hours. I never got the update you talked about that helped the battery life. That with an average of a 1-2 hour run every day. The GPS was off by about 1/2 mile. I have the Amazfit Bip S and this little thing is amazing. What the hell happened? Are they using a different GPS chip or what.
I've been looking at your videos on the Amazfit gts 1 and 2 - excellent stuff. After seeing the review on the GTS2 with the poor battery life , I purchased the GTS 1 a couple days ago. ( Still waiting for it to arrive) I currently have a Samsung Watch and the biggest issue I have with it is the bettery life. Charging every day and a half or two days is very annoying. I also am accustomed to features like microphone and speakers - features I rarely use; therefore they are not a major selling point for me in the GTS2 I think I made the right choice with the Amazfit GTS1 Thank you for your videos!
Appreciate the kind words and hope you're happy with the GTS1. The Samsung Watch is a great device, I like it too, but just like you, I can't survive on 1-day battery life.
@@LimReviews Hey Lim, I couldn't find information about Huawei watch gt2 vs gtr 2 always-on display. As far as I understood, aod on Huawei watch shows the time for a certain amount of time (20 min) Is it the same thing with gtr 2?
2 days on one charging is ridiculous for a watch without wearos. Lets hope it will be fixed. Question: can you listen to music from the watch and having training program running at the same time? If yes - can you change track and / or volume? And another situation - can you connect watch to the phone and wireless earphones to the phone at the same time? In this situation - can you change music track on your watch when having wireless earphones connected to the phone, so the track that is being played on earphones will change? And can you do the same while having training program running? Thanks in advance!

Since Zepp App, my Amazfit GTS last only 5-6 days instead of 10-11 days with Amazfit App. Something in Zepp App drained battery crazy. Amazfit have to retake control of their App and make reliable if they like to sell some more piece of the new Amazfit GTS 2
Thank you for the video ! I still don't understand how can you just have 5 days of battery life on GTS 1. Plenty notifications maybe ? I bought mine 1 month ago, and I reach 14 days with 70% of battery. When the watch has 30% or less I charge it but maybe I can extend it 1 week more
Great quality video and thank you for posting. The big question mark for me is battery life. I am not seeing the numbers you are for the GTS. While I do not have GTS2, you say that under the new software the battery life for the GTS is down to 4-5 days? Did I hear that right? I am getting more than a week with almost everything turned on and almost daily workouts that use GPS. So this causes me to seek a second opinion regarding battery life.
Hi Dennis! I used to get about 1 week as well but I'm not sure why of late it has been down to 4-5 days. I do receive tons of notifications on a daily, and I wear it to sleep everyday to track my sleep. It's worth noting that I have 2 Amazfit GTS' and the results I'm getting are similar.
I was thinking if I should buy the gts 2 instead gts but when I Heard about the huge difference of battery Life, I'm still gonna stick with gts ver plus cheaper. Thanks buddy

The lowest price I've seen for the GTS1 was $109.95 US last month. I wanted to buy it but didn't because the GT2 Chineses announcement was a week away so I waited. When the GTS2 was announced, I was hoping it would be $150 when it came to the US, it would be an instant buy then. GTS2 isn't released here (yet) but I'm not liking what I'm hearing from the rumors. Rumors say it'll be announced/released in the EU on Oct. 27 for 180 Euro, which would translate to almost $214 US. That would kill the GTS2 for me much like finding out the Zepp E Square's $250 US price did for that watch. If I'm going to spend over $200 US for a smartwatch, I may as well just spend a bit more and get an Apple Watch SE which would be far superior to all these fitness trackers from China in every way but the battery. Obviously I don't want to spend that much and ideally want something that lasts close to a week. Your GTS2 battery experience and the rumored 180 Euro price for the international version has change that from a would buy to probably won't buy.
I have T-Rex and huawei gt2 ,so gt2 i used it just 15 days and T-Rex for the past 2 months, its my daily driver, i recomand u T-Rex for gym, running,all around and i use huawei gt2 just for a better finest look, but for outdoor and all day T-Rex its all u need,14 days battery
The review is good but you could've explained a bit more about the music playback and how it sounds , also about taking a call directly in watch to see how it sounds to the other person on the call
Hey Lim, cool vid as always. Can u give us some infos on the mp3 transfer. Is it like a mass storage device, just plug in to ur computer and move files over? Or is it stored via the phone? In that case, how long would it take to transfer lets say 500mb? Just asking because on my last smartwatch the music transfer lasts like forerver. Very slow :-( Greetings!

In terms of battery life and Zepp: Are you willing to try third party apps like notify for amazfit/Zepp from onezerobit to see if it improves? I'm using notify for miband and the things you can set up and personalise is staggering
Hello! To be honest for all my devices I use the app from the brand itself. For the case of Amazfit + Zepp, you have no choice but to use it cuz all the watch settings are set from the Zepp app. Even the watchfaces is in the Zepp app. Noted on the Mi Band app though. Haven really tried it!

How does the GPS perform? This was a point with many complains on the GTS1. Would be really useful to further test the GPS. Particularly connection time, since the GTS1 reportedly took a lot of time to lock on the signal.
wow.. was wanting the GTS2 and now hearing that the battery life even reduce actions settings, is only 2 days.. hummm that just tell me AMOLD displays can't be a good system for watches..... l love my BIP original keep up the good work Lim !
I'm still in shock on how poor the battery life in the GTS2 is!! How do they state 7 days but can only get 2?? Is it a major software issue? Will it be resolved??
A rather helpful comparison review. Now I can easily and clearly see how they are both different, thus justifying the price difference. My only comment is...why would you always have your watches set in Chinese language when you are doing the explanation/review in English? Just an honest question.

Yeah do not buy now. If you need proper battery life, get the GTS 1. Hopefully you can find one with discounts as the GTS1 has already been in the market for a year.
Great question. Seeing as the battery life is pretty poor, the OPPO Watch actually makes sense now too. However, I am not seeing accurate fitness data on the OPPO Watch. Also the app is not as good as the Amazfit app. I might do a comparison video for this.
It's a big deal breaker for me, that the watch doesn't have an independent Wi-Fi internet connection toggle. I don't want to always be connected to my phone for such things as weather app updates and things. Apple watch has it, Samsung as well, so what's the problem with Amazfit? I don't think it would increase the price that much or decrease battery life.
Definitely a good review. The always on display is actually much better in the imitation watch from china called sg3 where it display a whole watch face like samsung s3 frontier/classic yet performe an outstanding battery life of 7-10 days. But as other imitation smartwatch that cost less than RM150, the health screening is not accurate at all..

Hello Sandy! The answer is no. You cannot change languages in almost all the Amazfit smartwatches. The reason for that is simple. Amazfit sells their watches cheaper in China. To prevent people from buying in China, and reselling at lower prices globally, Amazfit has locked the languages in the smartwatches.
I did not test that as it doesn't make sense to turn off the watch just to save battery. It is always connected to my device except for when I sleep when I turn off my Bluetooth.

Not to big for men. And I have a bit tiny wrists. BTW, Honor magic watch 2 is basically the same watch (like gt2) with lower price. Apple is too expensive and I dont like squarish designs.
Are the watch bands interchangeable between them? I like the color options better on the first one, but I am leaning towards getting the second so I was hoping I could get the band on the first and put it on the second.
IF Phone's Bluetooth is connected with wireless earphones then the fitness tracker like walking / swimming will work accurately right instead of connecting GST , right?

For women i think it is great to answer phone calls on the watch. Women have all the time their phones in their handbags... my gf always misses her phonecalls because she can't find her phone.
GTS2 is good but it has many issues 1 : Some time don't display the caller id 2 : Text too small 3 : Sometimes gives vibration for unknown reasons 4: Some Arabic Characters displays as squares 5: Notifications don't work with some apps like RU-vid, gmail
Hi Lim, one question regarding notifications, on the GTS1 I have an issue with how the watch splits text, it ends the word where the screen ends, and it moves whats left of the word on the next row, basically it gets hard to read a notification only because of how the words are split, on the BIP it just moved the entire word on the next row. Whats the GTS2 behavior for longer text?
When running outside, is there any way of switching off the GPS? Can connect to phone GPS? Nobody seems to be able to answer this question about Amazfit devices. Fitbit devices can op to do either internal or external GPS but I don't know about Amazfit devices. I will never leave my house without my phone so I don't want to have duplicate watch and phone features, and between phone & watch I'll prefer to use phone GPS. Thanks anyone for any help!

In India GTS1 -7500/- GTS2- 12500/- They've only included call feature in GTS2 which I think it's an useless for me, where privacy is more concerned!!! So I'll definitely pickup GTS1

Amazfit GTS 2 is now on Amazfit official store in Ali Express... I don’t wether it is the Chinese version or not, but should be the global. Btw, the pic says 179$ price while the price tag is 293$ weird. Getting an Apple watch SE would be better.
