I own an 02 Z and I won't sell it. There's nowhere else in the US you can get any better performance for the money. Other than flat out fast, these Vettes still have the pop-up lights from yesteryear, a C3 interior nostalgia look, and plenty of trunk space. When my Z was bone stock, it got 32.6 mpg on the highway. No joke!!

I loved owning a c5z. Upgraded to a c6z and was able to have both for a month or two, wonderful animals, both models. Each have their own special place in my heart.

I bought a 2001 Z06 for 15k and love it..Black on black, 86k miles..First Vette. Work on it myself, so far replaced most the fluids, starter, battery, clutch master cylinder, brake fluid flush.. tires are old so after i burn them off i'll get a set. Runs strong! It came with intake, headers/exhaust tune..I plan on keeping it the way it is and not messing with it.

I have a 02 z06 I am in love with it. Only 50000 miles on it very well maintained. Red with all black interior.

Own a 2004 Z06 in Black. I think its pretty much the best car ever made. Paid only 13k for it and its still impresses me and I also own a GT-350

I love this video - I fell in love with the corvette in 2002 when a neighbor got a new Z06 in black - it looked like the bat mobile and I was hooked! I now own a ‘13 427 convertible and cannot wait to drive C8!

I’m a 2002 C5 FRC Z06 owner! I ♥️ mine!

I just bought a 2003 C5Z in Electron Blue (27K miles). Probably overpaid, but it had all the right upgrades/bolt-ons, including leather Caravaggio race seats, and made 399 RWHP on stock LS6 internals. I also wanted a clean car for the weekends, but plan to run some track days.

I have the same car even down to magnaflow same color combo but mines a 04. I bought it last summer for a good price I love it ! I love driving it every chance I get I take it out and it’s very fast even to this day I’m happy to see this video.

Hellya!! Got a 99 C5 with heads up display and adjustable suspension. Did seats and shifter and saving for a carbon fiber steering wheel. Lowered, chrome rims.Has Z06 ported heads, intake and full exhaust and a built C6 5 speed automatic transmission. Walks on base c6's and C7's, hemi's, and 5.0's all day!! Love my c5 Corvette!

My first corvette was a black 2002 ZO6. I sold it to my brother in 2009 and bought a modified corvette ZO6 that had headers, no catalytic converters, and a performance exhaust. It was crazy loud!!! I sold it in 2014 because itjust sat in the garage and rarely got driven. I want a C8, but I wouldn't mind going back to the C6 ZO6.

Fun video, loved your passion for the C-5! My teenage kids loved the C-5 best of all my Corvettes, primarily the flip up lights. My gripe on the C-5 is that uber ugly rubber door strip on the sides of most models. I almost felt like I was moving through the gears with your video ... thanks Brink!

I had a C5 ZO6 for 15 years traded it in at Kerbek in Atlantic City and bought a 2017 grand sport . Looks just like mine.

Got my 01' C5 with 14k Mi. On it back in 06' for $36k from a family friend who kept it garaged and only drove it on weekends ... did a few expensive mods on it in the beginning as a bought it as my first Brand New(ish) car with the money I saved from my deployments as a Special Operations Marine... spent my money on this Bestival car while my other friends were being stupid and spending their deployment money to get Married at 20 years old 🙄 (not me 🤣) ... very first car was a 1979 Camaro Z28 that I worked on all through High School and dropped in a 468ci Big Block racing engine between 15-16yrs old and redid the entire interior... loved it cuz it was a hard top and had no T-Tops which I always thought looked horrible on those cars... Sold it just shortly after getting my C5 because even with the smaller motor, the Z28 just didn't compete as the C5 handled like it was on a Rail... onky reason I regret selling the Z28 now is cuz it was my absolute very first car that I built with my dad, but it was nice to have both cars for the first year until I finally sold the Z28 to a guy who loved what I did to the car at a local car show... been busy the last few years using my Post 9/11 Bill to go after dual-degrees in Finance & Business so my C5 has taken a back seat under a car cover with school being in NYC... just over a year ago, I said to myself " it's either time to build this thing how I've always wanted to and into the Supercar it deserves to be or maybe I should let it go and get a newer Corvette "... but I didn't wanna make the same mistake and regret I have of having gotten rid of my first car before I did everything I wanted to it, and my C5 is the very last thing I have to show for my time in the Marines (plus my plan to get one happened with my friend/brother on deployment and we both agreed that when we got home, we were gonna buy our Corvettes together, same day/same place but unfortunately, he didn't get to make it back home alive so that definitely adds to the sentimental value of my C5... so I didn't really see a point of starting all over again with a new car payment and I just don't think I could bring myself to spending an absurd amount of money on a C8 when I can't get one in stick shift and although the new C8 ZO6 does look nice in the Gray or White (only color it looks good in, in my opinion at least) , I just can't bring myself to completely loving the C7 or C8 until after I'd have to switch out those hideous tail lights to the circular tail lights that one company has developed for the C8 and 1 or 2 companies has developed for the C7 but the C7, you also have to buy and Aftermarket brand new rear fascia/bumper to convert it... so with that in mind, the only other corvette I would EVER consider would be a C6 ZO6, but as he said in the video, there really isn't that much of a difference between the C5 and C6 and the car is just too sentimental to let go... so on that note, I'm almost completely done converting the car into what it would look like if they made a show car quality version of the C5R and instead I said ' I'm gonna finish the car how I want and not stop until I'm finished " and have dropped somewhere around $60k into the engine, drive train, and suspension parts and have now almost completely finished building a Twin Turbo 1500HP Corvette C5R that's going to be one of the nastiest Corvette Supercars on the road after I finish up with the remaining pieces of the body kit making it look like a show winning C5R and changing the entire body over to all Carbon Fiber and finishing up making the interior completely clean and custom with the finest leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber ... and by the time the last of its cosmetics is completely finished, from purchasing the car bone stock to adding up all the mods, it will still be less than what people are trying to get for a new C8 Corvette with 495hp, and will look gorgeous standing out from every other C5 and with the Boost Control turned all the way up, it's capable of 4X the power of a new C8 and will leave any C8 in the dust, looking like it's standing still at 1500hp, let alone cranking the Boost controller up to the 2000hp that my Twin Turbo LS is currently capable of... as far as I'm concerned, the C5 was one of the best performing vettes ever made and I've driven everything from a C2 to a C7 so it was totally worth going all in and spending that level of money on mine once I told myself " I've had this thing since 2006, there's no way I'm ever getting rid of it... its just that simple " ... to me, it has the sexiest body lines and I know some will agree and others will argue over this, but to me, the only ugly thing on a C5 Corvette is the pop-up headlights which is the only thing that makes the car look dated... they look great down, but not up... was def worth spending $2500 on fully custom made C5R headlights on the car ... the C5 corvette like he says does feel like a race car (even with its stock power before adding insane power like I did) with the traction off and 6sp stick, it was just a very raw experience behind the wheel much like Ferrari wanted its owners to feel with the F40... I know the Paddle shifting on the new C8 is supposed to be amazing and insanely fast but they totally robbed the rawness out of the car without a stick (they could have at least made it a Sequential Stick Transmission instead of steering wheel paddles... would have totally been ok with a Sequential Stick , even if they made it smoother than the Sequential stick Trans you can put into a C5/C6 with Dog-Ring Gears .... as far as I'm concerned, the best looking newer Corvettes in terms of the last 20 years will always be the C5 and C6 in my opinion and both look better than the C7 and C8

Man c5 is the most bang for the buck & in my opinion the base C5 looks better towards the rear & last generation of the flip up headlights & mine has the removable top you can’t go wrong with owning a c5 look at the curves 💯🇺🇸😊✌️

Awesome C5 Z06 ! Question of the day is why would the original owner keep the original tires on there for 18 years! From what I read The maximum life of a tire is six years regardless of miles.

Add a PROCHARGER and with a very low 6lbs of boost ,you get 600 horse power at the crank. 529ish at the wheels.😱😊🤪

Very nice low mileage car!!! I have a 04 just like it with longtubes and cat-less Corsa Extremes. They are fun to drive and pretty quick but have become slow by today's standards. The thing about owning these is everyone wants to race you. I used to take them up on runs up to 70 and handily got some car lengths. Now, there are many sedans that easily run with these. I'm thinking about getting a manual vert and putting a supercharger on it just to get the power up to today's cars.

Okay, I'm back. I just did my re-watch. 1. Do you know if the car comes with the original window sticker and any other original paperwork and history? 2. Does it have the optional multiple CD player? Thanks again for AGU!

During your drive around and listening to your comment about the styling of the C5 ZO6 vs. C6 ZO6 made me think of what would have the been the popularity with the C6 ZO6 if GM had done a FRC with it? I think THAT would have really added to the popularity and the distinctiveness of it. Plus it would have made the C6 Z06 even lighter than it already was. As to this C5, I really, really like it. But in addition to it needing tires, it will also have to have ALL the fluids, wiper blades, belts and hoses changed due to it's age. Also, with the install of new tires, those lead exterior wheel weights have got to go!. That might necessitate that the wheels be refinished depending on the scaring left behind from those weights. Lastly, do you know if any of the OEM parts that were removed come with car? I like the way the car is setup, but part of it's value is having all the OEM parts. Now it's time for me to brew up a second pot of Chock full O'nuts and re-watch. My wheels are turn'n, but taking all things into account, $29k is a tad high. But, as the saying goes, there's a buyer for everything. Thanks so much for show casing this C5. Save the Wave👋🏿 P.S. Congrats to Corvette World on selling all those gorgeous C8's that they had. There are now just few more new C8 owners riding around with big smiles of their faces.

$29k is a very aggressive ask for this car. It’s gorgeous and low mile, but definitely top of market.

A hypothetical......Would you prefer a C5Z or a C8 for a track only car? And an unrelated note, they should reshoot the 11 C6Z (twin to my car + race peddles), they didnt come out very well.
