Dude this is an awesome video. Good Music. Great Transitions. The video editing added to the impact really well. I laughed at the "no jump" laser text. Best melee montage I've seen in a while
First, that turn around ledge cancel dair mango hit on crush was fucking amazing. Second, God damn you put a lot of work into this video! Good job my dude!
I literally just bought a comp for the sole purpose of learning how to edit and you are one of my biggest inspirations. Big ups my guy. I would love a tutorial one day cause your stuff is amazing
This is the second best editing I’ve ever seen in a melee combo video and that’s saying a lot actually. First place still goes to NakeyJakey for his Marth video synced perfectly to the music but this is still amazing. This is like “put it on your resumè” level good. Is that hand drawn effect a slippi thing? I think I’ve seen it before. I think it would be cool to watch a set in that style.
hey, just a small error but at 1:00 WiLD is the fox. The falco is Ronzell, also known as the original Falcomaster who put scar into losers at evo 2013.
For the most part, I loved the highly edited style. To name just one highlight in particular was the rocky section. The lyrics appearing on the stage and in the tag was cool. And the different effects and filters to give the video even more style points. The one critic I have is the speed-up/slow-down. Melee already has an awesome flow, why go change that?
yawsomedude1 I saw another comment about speed ramping so I’ll address it from my perspective. To say Melee has a nice flow is kind of nebulous, like if both characters are dash dancing in place not interacting there isn’t really a flow at all, however when a character gets a combo started there are intermittent moments that flow like water. What I’m getting at is “flow” operates on a spectrum and by nature fluctuates and changes based on a lot of variables. In alternate forms of media, speed ramping is used for a number of reasons but the two that I’m highlighting in this project are 1) building anticipation for the “punch” of a moment 2) aligning significant moments to the tempo of a soundtrack a boxing match can be compared to the flow of melee in a lot of ways. But that punch just feels different to a viewer when it comes in slow and hits fast. Also there is just inherent artistic value (as this is essentially an art project) to every move of a combo aligning to a song. tl;dr I don’t believe that melee having a “great flow” is a thing that necessarily always applies when you change the soundtrack, however I agree the game is naturally amazing and doesn’t need to be altered at all. But sometimes it can really highlight a moment for all the subtleties Thanks for watching!
@@makeshitco I guess it's personal thing. Like, I get it speed ramping to go along to the song. I just thought it was too much. But you clearly had a vision, and it's cool to see you defending it. Can't wait to see what you put out next
Can we watch the combo video without speed changes, colour changes, blurring, text. Like wtf were u smoking when u made this. I’m actually having an epileptic seizure rn
