Hi sir Dexter, I have been breeding ALBs for 14 years already and there are a lot of ups and downs during this span of 14 years, but one thing I learned is that the Malungay branch is an effective material for breeding. Every time a hen is laying eggs, the pair of lovebirds will trim the bark of the malungay branch and will use it as a nesting material. This will serve as an indicator if a pair is undergoing incubation. I also suggest that you do water changes in the morning and the afternoon because this will increase the possibility of healthy lovebirds.

Sir Dexter, it's my advice that u should use rings in the legs of ur parent birds to distinguish them from their chicks. In last vdo when u were catching the parakeets for sale, I observed that u caught some adult brids too... they might be ur parent birds! And yeah! Sir dexter you can use sampaloc branches as perch for albs and if you will put them on a separate cages dont put too much foods on them so that they will prevent "SAPOLA" but if you will put them as colony you need to provide more nest box for them because some african love birds are stealing others nests

You have to make steel partitions cages for them, because their beaks are very strong.they cut everything and fighting each others at the time of breeding.first benefit of separate cages is that you will not mix the blood line.you can select same blood line which is effective in production.you can also know about the blood line to make mutation to make lucrative.In your country many of them working on mutation to produce good color and export these birds on higher price.. best of luck.

Hello Sir Dexter, I also breed lovebirds and the species you have is agapornis fischeri. My experience is that they like horizontal nestboxes and they use thin pliable branches for their nest. They will also chew on all wood and they love fruit. Keep up the good work!

Dexter sir my advice for African love bird is that don't breed them in colony and you have also learn the genetic calculator of African fisher because some of birds are really high in demand and you have some of them lutinos, u.wings,oplines ,parblues ,blue fishers and their is a possibility of that some birds are splits of much costly breeds like pale fellows and dilutes etc Love from Pakistan 😊and all the best

Hi Sir Dexter!yes that's true!Colony in African lovebirds is not good because there are some hen are very aggressive,and sometimes fight each other or kill the weaker.And if they are pair they are fast to breed.for pairing non-eyering to non-eyering(Albs 1)and eyering-eyering(Albs2) so that their gens keep good.Good luck Sir and continue breeding. and next try the Zebra Finches.Thanks.

You can use neem or mango branches for bird perches it will be more natural and comfortable for African love birds.😇 You can buy albino and lutino varieties in Budiges they are more beautiful than normal ones. ❤️

That's a great start in parakeet farming brother.. Keep rocking bro. My kind advise in African love birds cage, pls make sure the door of the cage is small. Comparing to budgies, African lovebirds are very fast, at anytime they can fins a space for escaping. Hope you understood bro.. And breeding box will be perfect for African lovebirds for breeding instead of mud pots bro..

Dexter do not releases them into that large room until you seal the galvanized roofing as they will escape through the roof or any open small space. I also do keep birds, they are so precious . Do not place nesting boxes too close to each other. Indian ringnecks are lovely birds.

Make 4 cages for them. Set 1 cage for 3 yellow males and 3 blue females. Set another pne for the other way around.

I suggest you to use sampalok perch so if they ready to mate they will not slip and to make sure that they engage it properly .. and you need to observe them first because the african lovebirds are very aggressive and territorial specially the female unlike male african lovebirds .. I'll hope you will observe them and if you'll notice that they bully the other you should better to separate them or else they will bully or worse kill them the weak one ., More power an gudlck sir dex😇
