IMO if we are going to get these MASSIVE bombers before you get to the B-52 you'd need to get the B-36 (after B-29) then after the B-36 you need the B-47 (Which is the predecessor of the B-52) and finally finish off at the B-52

Need to implement earthquake bombs so that the B-36 can carry a pair of 43,600 lb T-12 Cloudmakers. Also give the B-29 the pumpkin bomb (shell of the Fat Man nuke but with 6,300 lb of conventional Comp B inside).

I love bombers, and used to mainly play them back in the early days of WT. A new bomber game mode would be needed. In current Air there is no fun or feasible place for these amazing aircraft. The B-29 faces AAMs already, so add a larger aircraft and better missiles, you'd lose before you got out of spawn. If they add a new game mode, the earlier bombers would greatly benefit as well. B-52 and Tu95 would be interesting in Ground RB, as they can be fitted with precision weapons, akin to the ones already in game. You would also get a better option (and cooler IMO) for the nuke plane. If anything I would like to see these bombers be only used for that if anything.

Air Simulator battles would be the only mode where bombers would rule supreme. Playing it with a friend or two to escort you to whatever and wherever for a free kill or two would help too.

I think the most probable for bombers are the B-1 and Tu-160. As they are really the only bombers than can make it to target before eating a missile. (yes, they are still going to die, but as long as they can get their bombs off first, it doesn't matter. They still get their XP)

In order to make “big bombers” useful in the game would be to create bigger targets that would need “Metric Tons “ of bombs to destroy. Since peeps already fight over bases to bomb in attack / fighter jets so the slower bombers would never get there. Either have the base regeneration timed for an approximate heavy bomber strike or add “Strategic” targets large bases that could not be attacked by the fighters or attack planes until all the bases are destroyed.

Don't forget the Amerika Bombers from Germany and then the 10-10-10 bombers they wanted as well like the He-277 and 377, The Horton flying wing bomber with iirc 8-12 jet engines, and at last the Messerschmidt designs adapted from the Me-164 or the Arado 234c upgrades with the more reliable BMW001 engines and not the Jumo's. The were so many potential HUGE and HEAVY bombers late-post ww2 and then going into the cold war era.

one bomber i would like to see come to game is the G3M Nell from Japan. it would likely be a Tier I vehicle. it is one of those early war iconic Japanese bombers that we do not have in game. mostly contributing that non of the planes survived the war from what i understand.

Maybe I missed it, but there could be quite a few WW2 German bombers. Some of these bombers were built in numbers and some not mass-produced but had their prototypes built.

I think the F117 would be an okay but niche fit. But I could see it becoming an event vehicle because of just two guided bombs, but the stealth would way to test it out. Have it pop up on enemy radars only after you open the bay doors

I think if mentioning how the B52 was emblematic of the leap in technology after the Second World War, the Avro Vulcan is even more emblematic. The B52 is basically a jet powered bomb truck whereas the Vulcan was on another level in terms of design

Of all the "modern" bombers, I feel like the B-1 already has a place in the US tree. The Vark really proved that modern high speed bombers have a viable place in the game. The best part if the B-1 IMO is that we could also get the B-1R design soon, which replaces its bombs with a TON of air to air weapons so it could just truck along behind it's fighter screen, acting as a "missile boat" for the formation.

Speaking of Wellington alongside the Warwick, I wish Gaijin would fix the damage model for it to be closer to reality. That could actually make them reasonably playable with their low speed and poor defenses, just letting them take some more punishment.

i would love to see more bombers bring them in ill fly them for sure, i too have spaded every bomber in the game and have generally had pretty good experiences in them trying all sorts of different tactics to avoid detection, the one that worked well for me was to take off from the airfield (much to the disgust of the fighter pilots lol) and mow the lawns as i call it in a sort of wide arc out to the bases or to the ground targets at higher tiers since you have much faster attackers that will take them out, this works well when most of the bomber hunters like the Do-335, Ta-152s, hornets and P-61s etc are looking for you at alt not on the deck, this would obviously would backfire if your team gets decimated as the faster fighters wont have any trouble chasing you down

We do need bombers that can also lead to proper interceptors being introduced. Right now planes like the Lightning and Javelin don't feel right to play because they were designed as bomber interceptors so don't really work well against small nimble fighters that are the meta at this stage. Every time I see an Il-28 I focus on it just to get the chance to use the plane in the correct way

People want the B-52 added but the bases are small and the other plane needs to be high up to actually live long enough to get there. They would need to make changes to bases, for instance bigger bases and different rewards for destroying them, as well as bigger maps than what we have now. It could be done, but maybe a bomber and escorter EC could fix the issue and keep the changes minimal

I like the B-52 Stratofortress and the Tu-95 Bear. I would like to have the YB-40 & XB-41 bomber escort gunships in the game. The B-45 Tornado, B-47 Stratojet, B-50 Superfortress, B-58 Hustler and B-66 Destroyer should also be added.

Tell me you don't know about Cold War bombers without telling me you don't know anything about Cold War bombers. The B-36, B-47, B-58, and B-52 all have defensive weapons. The B-36 is actually bristling with 20mm cannons. From the B-52 onwards, the primary defense comes from powerful defensive electronic jamming and yes this is available from the earliest B-52 models as well. Some bombers, like the B-58 and B-1A/B can use their speed to their advantage. If bombers were as defenseless as people claim they are they wouldn't still be flown in real life.

@@Kubulin24 Its flares plus chaff plus ECM. On top of that, given you can lock onto missiles in this game, it should be entirely possible for the Vulcan equipped B-52H to shoot down missiles coming from behind it.

The sorts of bombers I would like to see are the Tu16 badger for both the Russians and the Chinese. And I will admit the bombers the tec showed in the video like those British bombers and the tu95 Bear are actually pretty good suggestions because, i wouldn't be against any introduction of any bomber because I feel like I'm one of the very few people who actually find bombers enjoyable to play and also I think bombers like the g10n for the Japanese, but either way I would actually like to see these bombers represented in game partly do because well there a part of military history and in war thunder we pretty much have plenty of vehicles are just straight up fake anyway so honestly I wouldn't be against any paper bombers, I really wouldn't.

i know your talking about Big long ranger bombers. but i think something like the F-117 would be Mega interesting. and of course the B-2. I put money that we will never see modern bombers. They require fighter protection the whole time, they have no self protection vs modern threats. Chaff isn’t broken in the game to where it will make any modern bomber viable. No one in the game is willing to sit at 400 mph to escort a bomber. Would have to completely change the game or game modes to where shooting eachother down isn’t the main reward.

Please do some quick googling before saying things like this. The B-52 alone had a tail gun (H variant had 20mm Vulcan instead of the usual quad .50 cals) and its primary defense was/is a powerful electronic warfare suite.

My idea was to reinforce teamwork by adding a type of vehicle that provides you with rewards if you successfully defend it. This could also be introduced to every gamemode, from ground to air to naval. One possible way of making Aircraft carrier into special players

in air rb they wont be meta at all mostly because of having such a large bomb load they would have to be very high br which just puts them at ground spawn and wouldnt be able to climb fast enough. but they can still be fun to use. like in ground just carpeting the entire map or in sim air as a nice chill time as you have that distance to gain hight as well as much less players so can get bombs off. it would make them one heel of a rp and credit earning and expecally like with the f111 and buc insanely good for event grindings

I think Gajin wants to, and that’s why they’re planning separate BR’s for different game modes, because like with the B-29\Tu-4, it would be hard to balance between ground, RB and air RB
