More Laws on Separating Challah:
-Challah (with a blessing) should only be separated if at least 12 1/4 cups of flour is used. Many only recite a blessing if 16 1/2 cups of flour is used. Consult your rabbi.
-The challah should be separated before eating the bread from which it was taken. Many say it should be burnt as soon as possible, but it is not required to burn the challah before eating the bread.
-The challah and the bread from which it was taken should not be cooked together in the same oven.
-The burnt challah should be disposed of in a water-proof wrapping.
