Kasparov became the youngest ever undisputed World Chess Champion in 1985 at the age of 22 by defeating then-champion Anatoly Karpov.[3] He held the official FIDE world title until 1993, when a dispute with FIDE led him to set up a rival organization, the Professional Chess Association. He continued to hold the "Classical" World Chess Championship until his defeat by Vladimir Kramnik in 2000.
Kasparov's ratings achievements include being rated world No. 1 according to Elo rating almost continuously from 1986 until his retirement in 2005. He achieved a peak rating of 2851,[4] which was the highest recorded until 2013. He was the world No. 1 ranked player for 255 months, nearly three times as long as his closest rival, Anatoly Karpov. Kasparov also holds records for consecutive tournament victories and Chess Oscars.
Kasparov announced his retirement from professional chess on 10 March 2005, so that he could devote his time to politics and writing. ....

I have never watched a more incredible game than this one. Moreover the fantastic, profound analysis with combination of grand wittiness made this video my all time favorite. I am absolutely not surprised that kingscrusher raised the bar again. Other commentator must watch this video to learn how it’s done by a pro.

This is my all-time favorite game. Thanks for the video. I also recommend reading Kasparov's own analysis of it, which is a very good piece of chess writing: dramatic (yes, he is a drama queen if ever I saw one), epic, and with a great balance between variants and narrative.

WE need more games from Kortschnoi winning. Remember he has beaten the best and played very well too in his games. He was denied the top resources of Soviety players too remember which must be worth 50 ELO points I bet at the time. Also he was considerably older than his peers at the top often in the late 70s onwards.

18:28 "Spectators" reminds me of the computer immortal game video where "white's pieces are looking like spectators".

Running your engine all the time causes you to become uncreative and unpersonal. It's like how GPS systems cause people to lose their ability to find the road themselves. Either walk us through the game, or highlight some moments from your personal perspective or insight, but don't walk us through the game with that stupid engine all the time :(

msn140 You guys act like he is clueless to the positions. Its clear he has went over this games that he presents to the viewers before he actually shows them to us. And if you notice... he suggest his moves that he would play before he runs the engines. Its ok to run the engine to CHECK to see the true value of the position even tho you are right the engine plays extremely accurate, something humans have yet done, but you can use it to improve your play over the board. You guys act like kingscrusher needs the engine badly, you forget that he beat Nigel Short in blitz... check his resume before you bash him. I learn alot from him. Now Kingscrusher... continue :)

you used the analyze on the houdini... I have a houdini 1.5, but have NO idea how to use the analyse, (or, for that matter, how to make it play MY game so I can study my own mistakes) And I'm thinking, that would be a easy video for you to show us? Please? d=^))
