I'm a struggling pianist, you make piano playing easy and fun. You have a great God given talent. I enjoyed your music selections very much! Thank you for sharing your talent.
Oh yeah lovely stuff he makes it sound easy but his confidence is from his lifetime of regular practise and study and it is a blessing to hear someone who obviously loves the textures and melodies a piano is made for great job mate no gimmicks just talent and aication love this
I always enjoy a piano played slowly and delicately regardless of how impressive it is to play really fast (and ofc it is) but that's personal preference. Sounds great btw👍🏼👍🏼💥
same here man, I prefer it slower rather than that extra advanced fast paced with a lot of specials added to it. keep it simple and romantic that's all I need
My son plays a weekly piano bar gig at a local hotel. He will change up his repertoire depending on what the public responds to the most enthusiastically. It's more work to prepare, but it keeps it from getting stale. He's also first and foremost a classical pianist, and you can never go wrong with a little Chopin.
He splitted this e-piano in the middle of the keyboard and played the melody with his left hand, while playing all of the accompaniment in the right hand !!! I never seen this before. Very amazing !!! 😅
Somehow this is a totally inverted piano bass in the right and treble in the left otherwise the piano is normal. Never seen anyone play like this but there is no reason why not. Digital piano therefore. Nice playing.
1. 1st song is by Mexican composer Manzanero called "Mia" with improvisation 2. flowed by "Besame Mucho:" 3. Lloyd Weber opera "Cats" song 4. Beethoven's Fur Elise He should get that piano voiced for a softer tone sound.
In fact it is the famous song "Be my love" by Nicholas Bronszky and Sammy Cahn written in 1950 for Mario Lanza and sung by him and Kathryn Grayson in "The Toast of New Orleans". Lanza's 1950 recording of the song was his first million-seller, eventually selling over two million copies.
Wasn't first tune..."Be My Love" ? Very accomplished player. I have played some cocktail piano gigs over the years although very few in the UK now. Quite a lonely occupation sometimes. Often, at posh parties, they mainly want to look sophisticated in front of their friends by having a tuxedo-ed pianist.
Correction aplication to previous reply as a guitar student i recognised Besame Mucho Fields of Barley Minight sonata and Blue Danube waltz but what was the last one ? I bet he knows Leon Russels Song for You and Eltons its a little bit funny etc and probaly knows Billy Joels repotiore to ? And i would not be suprised if he could cover Bill Evans Blue in Green and Waltz for Debbie ? Before knocking out some boogie woogie with Herbie Hancock flavoured flourishes great work thank you for loading down
Maybe I'm wrong but it seems the sound coming out doesn't match his fingering on the keyboards or that the video is mirrored reversed or...the piano is for left-handed player? Wow!
Yes, It took me a minute to figure out why it looked like the right hand left hand where playing reversed. Those tablets have become very handy when playing. I find myself using it more frequently. I must say, his repertoire is sort of odd. He is classically trained playing in a lounge bar. It's not the kind of music you expect. That's a repertoire is more appropriate for playing in weddings as background. 😁 Need to jazz it up. A few ii, V, I progression, some diminished, sus4, 9th, 7th, inventions.
Hey I aspire to do this I am 22 and I have my Abram grade 8 and diploma in performance the only thing is I’m not a good sight reader:/ however I’ve got distinction in these grades as I’m veryyy good learning by ear\imrpov and memorising and I have a good feel to my playing how crucial is sight reading when I can learn by ear Thanks! I’ve always wanted to do this but be honest thank you!
Sight reading is training. If you aspire to go in this venue, there are some good websites that will help you understand chords and chords progression. It does require knowing the scales, arpeggios and chromatic scales. It's all about practice. Start practicing sight reading and find a website for learning Jazz. Good luck.
@@eddygonzalez6018 hey o have my grade 8 theory and already have my grade 8 piano Abram board. I know all scales arpeggios theory etc it’s just the sight reading. I can play advanced classical pieces it’s just I learn by ear or watching people play on RU-vid it’s only the sight reading part. As I’m very strong at the other parts would this be a problem? I have a list of 300 ish songs :)
@@eddygonzalez6018 and I can sight read notes just takes a bit longer than normal and I prefer to just memorise everything I already have songs. Do you recon this would outline the fact I’m not strong at sight reading? But I’m definitely practicing! Just not something I’m strong at haha thank you
@Ameena Patel My bad. I'm not familiar with the lesson or method you mentioned. I supposed because of your sight reading comment. Jazz is learned, like everything else. As a classical trained pianist, I had to learn a whole set of new skills. With good memory and improvisational skills, you'll do good. Go for it. You're young. 👍
@@eddygonzalez6018 I get you! And thank you for your help! I will work at sight reading still as it’s useful but it’s just for some reason never worked with me hahah
He is using the wrong camera on his phone ... that's why. He should use the better phone side. It would be clearer. Also, would be good if he got a good mic as the phone mic cannot pick up the full dynamic range of the Baby Grand. He is an excellent pianist and so deserves to be heard to the standard he plays at.
Hang on... Aren't "Cocktail" pianists supposed to play jazz?? Maybe it's because the vid has been flipped right to left so he's playing an AHAMAY piano instead of a YAMAHA - that must have confused his hands and sent him back to old skool classics...
This person is NOT an amazing cocktail pianist, at least on this video, because he is playing classical music, not what is normally considered cocktail piano music. But on the other hand, if people in the bar or restaurant are drinking cocktails, then perhaps I am wrong and he is a cocktail pianist.
Nothing wrong with the video or his playing. It's the wrong repertoire. That's a wedding background music. He should be playing jazz. Who plays Czardas in a lounge bar? That's a performance piece. That was a recital.
