Early in July day I finally was able to get in some summer time rock and fossil hunting along the shores of Lake Michigan. I really did miss this beach. I didn't expect to find much in the middle of summer so I did go to what I thought would be a less desirable spot to rock hunt on the shores of Lake Michigan. I do believe my idea paid off. I found not one but two cold water agates on this day. I left very happy to say the least.

It was a fun day. I really did miss this beach. Now I need to get to the U.P like yous did :) I remember you telling me yous were going way up in the U.P in July. I do wish I could of met with yous but things just didn't work out for me. I am looking forward to your videos on your trip up north😊

Like the Chain Coral! Like the cold water Agate. The crab is awesome. There is a plant that looks like Queen Ann's lace, but it is not. It's like poison Ivy! It's over here and very well could be there as well not! poison hemlock!!

It was nice to go here again. I did miss this beach. My knee kept me away for a couple of months. It only hurt when leaving, walking through dry sand up a hill. So I stay away for a while again. This is the best place for fossils for me. I will be looking up this itch plant. Don't want to get into that !! Thanks for the heads up 😊

Looks like a lovely day. That chain coral looks pretty good. I do like the one at 04:40 LOL "not going to put it back". I probably wouldn't have either. Awesome. Love the excitement in your voice when you found that cold water agate. Oh yeah, you don't want to get caught out after the sun is down. Those are some very pretty flowers. I probably would have taken pics of all the flowers lol. You really did get some very nice finds on this trip out. I really like that black one too. Great trip.

It was a amazing day! A beach I really did miss. No sun but still had a great time and found some keepers. I love the cold water agate finds ! It is hard to find them like the first one I found. I love the flowers as I was walking out. Could not help but to share them. Only flower lovers will appreciate it though, lol Well thanks much for watching😊

The orange lily is called day lily or ditch lily. The fuzzy bush with the white and pink flowers is a Japanese spirea or meadowsweet.

My 5 year old granddaughter loves to rock hunt we live in Grand Rapids what beaches would you recommend going to that are hour to two away from us to look for rocks

Bill I am sorry to say but I live in Upper Michigan and never once rock hunting lower Michigan. I really wish I could be of more help. When I first started I just wrote down some beaches and checked out one at a time. It was soon I knew which ones were my favorites. Good luck 😊
